What is your definition of success.......

Since lockdown if I am up, showered and dressed by 10.00am I consider that to be a success ???

GrannyGravy13 I'm the same but different. I'm up, in old clothes, on the beach with dogs early. Since start of lockdown, in order to get my 10k steps done, I do them all first thing as I may not go out again.
Home, shower..... collapse in heap.
So my definition of success is being dressed and doing something useful by the time the postman passes, about 11am

My successes today are being out of bed and showered by 10, not having switched on the kitchen tv and it's already 11.30 (never had the tv on before 6pm pre covid19) and have had a 30 minute natter with a lonely friend and left her smiling, in fact left us both smiling.
My lifetime success is playing a big part in raising decent, loving, compassionate and intelligent children.

It’s a miracle! By the end of today I will not have cooked for 3 days in a row, Chinese takeaway on Friday, the old boy did bacon butties (his signature dish!) yesterday and one of our dds has organised a posh afternoon tea for Father’s Day. I’ve cooked every flipping day since lockdown and am so bored of it now!!

Success for me is having all three of my AC settled and working.

Seven DGC all progressing in their lives and being a credit to their parents AND me.

- Having enough money to live on.
- Being able to pay bills on time or regularly by DD.
- Having no debts to worry about and no need to be scared of 'knocks at the door', like I experienced when my AC were young.
- Being in a position to be able to make donations to charities that mean something to me.
- A comfortable home - I have no need whatsoever to keep wanting to update or theme my living space / bedrooms / kitchen / bathroom etc.
- My funeral is Pre-paid. I feel blessed NOT to be leaving my AC a bill to pay when my time comes. They might not be getting 'an inheritance' but they won't be in debt either .

My success is that I have managed to smile during every FaceTime, Zoom, and socially distanced conversation, and got indoors or off screen before breaking down in tears. Nobody wants to see a miserable face - we are all feeling overwhelmed.

If I can get through the day without that awful heart-sinking feeling of depression, and if I can manage to achieve something, - maybe just cleaning out a cupboard,- and then cook myself an evening meal, then the day has been a success.

Success = raising happy well adjusted children who love you. Plus generally being a nice kind person.

Not worrying whether I'm a success or not! As far as i can, being the person I want to be and not up against a measuring post - I'm a mix of lots of things. I change all the time and have lots to learn on the journey. Am I able to be truthful about myself and kind and loving to others? As someone said "The truth will set you free, but first it will p*ss you off!" (apologies for the language - its what they actually said !)

I live my success through my daughters, one who runs her own business, is married and has a small daughter. The other was the wild child which seemed to last a long time. In her late 30's she became a mother to a little boy with Down Syndrome. She is now the best mother that little boy could have, and has raised quite a lot of money for the Down Syndrome Association. Both girls are very thoughtful. Yes, they are my success!

Waking up in the morning and feeling a sense of relief that I'm not dead!

DH just bought me a small electric bike and I used it for the first time yeesterday.
I could ride it just fine and it took me back to cycling to and from school sixty years ago. Success!

I feel that my life, on the whole, has been a success, I have been happily (well most of the time ) married for nearly 50 years, I have 3 lovely sons who are all good citizens, numerous lovely grandchildren. I am very rich, but not at all wealthy. Plus if I can manage to get showered and dressed before noon I shall have done well?

I started a lockdown diary on the first day, the idea was that I would set myself the goal to do something interesting to write about each day. I consider it a success if I daily complete a full A4 page without:
a. Repeating myself
b. Copying something out of a newspaper/t’internet
c. Spreading my writing out to fill each line

For me, success has been having 2 sons who are kind, thoughtful, polite, caring, hard-working, intelligent men. I played a huge part in getting them to that, so I consider that to be my success.

On a trivial note - baking a cake today and it turning out really well.

Gosh Grannygravy what's the rush? 10am? I'm not always dressed by 12. I say dressed but...

As a serious answer.....being content and at peace with yourself and the world.
As a flip answer.....cleaning the bathroom after a week of telling myself it just had to be done.??
