Terrible terrorist attacks in Reading

Yet many of our own are in prison for crimes they didn't commit as there are at least 600 awaiting appeals. Okay, there are usually a handful that " try it on " but there are hundreds who don't and are caught up in reams of red tape.
The justice system needs reforming, and fast ! But-------

Because of this now ongoing BLM any crime committed by a black person will be treated with extra-soft kid gloves for fear of being/sounding racist. Who'd be a police officer in this day and age ?

It is high time people were vetted before we allow them to enter our country.
The brother of this one says his brother was just protecting himself ! So either he was there with him or he is a lying POS trying to cause trouble, he reckons the police are lying and the country is racist. Time he was booted out of this country along with any other family members. If he hates the U.K why is he here ? He is not forced to stay

trisher I agree. This constant refrain that 'mental health' is an excuse even with people who have a proven history of it is unhelpful. People can't claim to be unaware of how poor mental health treatment is under this government It is generally but it has deteriorated greatly over the past decade. Cuts have consequences and unfortunately neither the ones making them or defending them are the people worst affected.

And your point is GrannyGravy13? If he was carrying a knife and we had a decent mental health service he would have been better supervised and cared for. As it is all we do with people who are mentally ill and possibly violent is lock them up in prison and then turn them loose on the general public.

Andrew Pearce (sp?) has tweeted that his imprisonment was for the so called minor offence of carrying a knife, and his sentence was only up two weeks ago.

I agree JE. Why keep these potential terrorists here when there is a likelihood that they may kill people.

These attacks keep happening and it's time to get these people off our streets.

The ‘mentally ill’ aspect will probably mean we are stuck with him once some human rights lawyer gets involved.

My GD goes to the school where James Furlong was head of History. A great shock for them all but especially for his family. There were no lessons at the school today and none sent for home schooling.What a tragedy for such a talented and respected young man.

I gather he was in the care of a mental health team and had been seen by them the previous week. Seems there were failings all round resulting in needless deaths.
