Embarrassing noisy neighbours

I would like some advice please if anyone has any suggestions. My neighbours possibly early 50s live in the house at the bottom of our garden . Twice now I have heard loud grunting noises coming from their windows.I don’t want to go into detail but I hope people on here can get the gist! I really don’t know what to do about it as I don’t want our guests/grandchildren listening to it. Should I shout up and tell them to shut the windows? I’m at a loss what to do.Help!

Post it!

Twice !! In one day ? Impressive. In one month ? Pretty standard. At Christmas and his birthday ?

I don't know how they have the energy in this heat.

BlueSky Fri 26-Jun-20 23:18:02

Perhaps they just fake it to impress the neighbours! grin

They live in a house at the bottom of your garden? I can’t imagine this little couple making any audible type of noise.

I'm exhausted just stacking the dish washer let alone an afternoon of bedroom gymnastics.

GagaJo Fri 26-Jun-20 23:21:53

Hahaha Chewbacca, I'm with you on that.

Don’t understand what you mean? There's plenty of noise, very disturbing.Their house is behind 4 gardens, ours the nearest.

Never said in same day did I?

Grandma24 Sat 27-Jun-20 00:10:35

They need to shut their windows!

Only Misadventure has come up with a viable solution . No one seems to take it serious. If it was someone banging on their drums making an almighty sound I’m sure you would be round there but because it’s a delicate matter no one seems to date go round

Howling with laughter when you described it putting you off your Chinese. Can just imagine a scene like this in Gavin and Stacy grin

Would you like them to schedule it around your mealtimes? Slip you a timetable? C’mon, I understand you don’t like it, but seriously? Folk can do whatever they want within their own homes - including drumming! Live and let live!😃

Maybe give them a nice round of applause next time. 👐🏻

oh those were the days!

Chewbacca I just spat out my early morning cup of tea all over myself laughing, reading that...! Those WERE the days indeed!!!😅😅

eazybee Sat 27-Jun-20 06:43:05

when we are sat at our patio table eating our chinese it puts us off.

Are you Alan Bennett?

dinks13 Sat 27-Jun-20 06:48:06

Awful, who on earth wants to hear that!!! Like you say Grandma24, very embarrassing especially if you have friends or young family around.

Nightsky2 Sat 27-Jun-20 06:53:02

Takes me back a few years, we’ll actually many years😌.

Next time I would pop out and check that it is human noises you’re hearing because it might be a pig as they make very grumpy noises or it could be a hedgehog🤷‍♀️. Don’t worry about the DGC as it would take more than grunting noises to wake them!,.

Furret Sat 27-Jun-20 07:25:52

Hilarious!

Grandmabatty Sat 27-Jun-20 10:26:42

If you can hear them, then maybe they could hear you.. So when it starts say loudly, "what is that grunting noise?" " where is it coming from?" "can you hear it too darling?" etc etc. They maybe as you say, don't realise they can be overhead.

Millie22 Sat 27-Jun-20 10:42:02

So funny!

BlueSky Sat 27-Jun-20 10:57:18

Grandma24 seriously you have two options: 1) you wear earplugs when outdoors, and keep spare ones for visitors, or 2) go and knock on their door (let them finish first) and ask them to please keep the noise down. Of course you could have a nasty response to option 2.

Namsnanny Sat 27-Jun-20 11:06:02

Grandma24 ... I apologise for finding g the situation funny, all the witty replies smile but it's like someone else slipping on a banana skin, it is actually humorous!!

I can see how distressing g it is for you though.
Maybe one of your neighbor's who can also hear it will do as MissA suggested and post anonymously!

I think having a Chinese might mean so.ething different in our house from now on 😁😘

I’d have to ask for a few tips.......
