Congratulations to your DGD Newquay. Degrees take a lot of hard work even when Covid isn’t in the mix.
Well done to her for keeping focussed. I hope it leads to the career she desires. ?

Good morning from dull Yorkshire !!! Can I just ask if am correct in thinking it is July !!!!!

Well 2 things have happened in 24 hours.... 1 is absolutely FANTASTIC, my granddaughter arrived in the world yesterday, welcome little girl xx, and the 2nd thing to happen is that my Ancestry DNA test arrived yesterday and I am sending it off today ..... sooooo the past 24 hours have been very eventful.

Today I am seeing my DD and 2 GC ... I am super happy about that because we can exchange talk of my DD new niece and my new GD ....

Enjoy your day everyone :-)

Good morning all from a overcast mid-Notts. Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon - no substitutions too!! Then courgette pasta baked for tea while we watch football on the big screen - perfectual!! I am doing some charity knitting - I am part of an online knitting group and answered a plea from one of the members. My DD1 goes back to work after maternity leave next week - she is a nurse (sister now smile) on an elderly medical ward so I'm sure I'll soon be knitting twiddlemuffs again!! I always like to help if I can. Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe x

Good morning Mick and everyone and wishing good things for everyone who is ill or having a hard time. I'm in overcast Somerset now - will walk soon. Sainsbury's delivered yesterday evening - feel very lucky not to have to go to shops, and we are being very cautious.

Good morning from a grey and dull East Midlands.

I am going to try and get the lawn cut this morning before any rain arrives. Not much else going on. Maybe a Chinese takeaway for tea tonight.

Stay safe and sane and have the best day possible as we watch another season drift away.

Good Morning All x
A fine drizzle earlier and I thought here we go again shock It's so poor for July. Cloud galore and a watery sun having the nerve to show itself now and again. Ah well, that's something we can't do anything about----except move to sunnier climes grin

How lovely to hear that many of you will be holidaying it'll be so good for you, even though they'll be holidays " with a difference " it's that change of scenery and every day hum drum that's the best part.

I remember D saying last year that she'd take the oldest children to Spain this year during their school holidays, good job she hadn't told them or they'd have been disappointed. Always next year.

I wish things were more settled for Gillybob. It's the not knowing that gives off uncertainty. If only people were more transparent in such times. Sadly there'll be many hanging on by the skin of their teeth, but there's no reason why you can't come out of this smelling of roses, Gilly x I hope so.

Now that I know that GGD is alright where she is in Darlington, I can breathe easier as it was a worry where she'd end up but with Scentia's sentiments as well, it's a relief to know. Again, we feel privileged that everyone is doing all they can, and beyond.

Marydoll I had an idea you'd be unwell with all this change of medication but glad to say it's not a long-term thing as when a new type of medication is given it can take a few weeks for it to kick in after you've got over the worst. Many are slow-release type medications. It's not nice while it lasts but you've been so good persevering. x

Goodness knows what I'll be up to today but whatever it is the time goes quickly as it has this last 4 months. I'd like to think I was brave enough to shop at the supermarket. I feel brave thinking about it but if I see queues or bunches of people I'll fold. Then there's getting there, taxi rather than a bus----oh, I don't know grin

As Urmston said, it's the transport, where you're closed-in with people.

I hope one day we'll wonder what this has been all about.

Anyway, whatever you all do, take care and stay safe. xx.
Thoughts to those who are still struggling and unwell.

Auntieflo I was thinking the same about this order of Gilly's surely people aren't that horrible.

Thanks Puzzler
MaryDoll you have me crying so I'm not surprised you are!
It is wonderful that your DGD is starting school. I always think it's funny that the Scottish school year begins in August and they all have to wear their winter clothes. my DD left her brand new jacket at the swing park on her way home from her first day at High school and we never saw it again

Thank you for the welcomes back!

We were in Lanzarote in March when Spain went into lockdown. Flights were being cancelled so there was the worry of where would we stay etc. Luckily our flight with Jet2 wasn't cancelled, but it was still a worrying time. As for Malaga, apart from insurance, just not sure about getting on a plane at the moment. Will have to evaluate nearer the time, but all my family are saying not to go.

Congratulations to your DGD Newquay an achievement indeed.

Also, congratulations Serendipity on the birth of your DGD, a joyous time for you all flowers

Fingers crossed for gilly that the order is secured

Good Morning to you all, Yes, it's dull here in Cambs., too.

Welcome to your new grandchild, Serendipity.

Good to hear that some of you are off on holidays, have a nice break.

We are yet to get to our little "home-from-home" on the Norfolk coast. As soon as DH is recovered enough, we will be there.
That reminds me, have I missed NorfolkD posting.? I do try to read all your posts most days.
Hope all of you with troubles stay strong. flowers

Take Care Folks.

Good Afternoon All

I just sat down after hanging out the last load of washing. No, gillgran I haven’t posted lately because DH and I have been very naughty and had absconded for a holiday!

We packed up our campervan, stocked up with food and headed for Worthing for just over a week. And there wasn’t any internet unless you stood in the car park outside the campsite reception. Got back yesterday evening. It was our first proper trip in the Wagon and we’ve made lists of what we should have taken and what we don’t need. It was all very exciting! However, we’ll have to go back when things are better as we didn’t go near the beach or even go into Worthing or any places where there were likely to be a lot of people. Two National Trust properties and a couple of bird reserves and a very long walk around the Knepp estate. All very organised with pre-booked limited numbers and social distancing. There are places to go where we can feel safe.

I am feeling quite guilty though having read of the woes and problems so many are going through at the moment. I’d hoped things were looking up for you Gillybob, I do hope this prospective customer is just being really careful and isn’t taking advantage of you. It’s good to read you posting Marydoll in more of your old way, hopefully The Cough will subside soon, it must be impossibly wearing when you’re trying to recover. And now Cherry isn’t up to posting - I do hope its temporary and she’s back on form soon along with all the others who’re taking a break at present.

Congratulations to Serendipity and Newquay, it’s lovely to read good news and achievements. And that I’m not the only one breaking free and heading for the hills - even if very carefully.
