Good Afternoon from East Staffordshire. The sun has his best hat in all day, I have had visitors overnight and we have been so busy all day I have only just picked my phone up. Here’s a picture that makes me smile as only one person in my life wears shoes this small❤️

Good morning. Was bright at 6 am now a drizzle all day. My travel counsellor says my Easy Jet flights will be going to Greece late August and returning September so watch this space. As my holiday was cancelled I have booked and English land lady outside Athens. Hope I get my seat and my QR code and no one on the flight tests positive.

Good morning from a bright, warm and sunny East Midlands.

Shopping done and put away for another week, thank goodness. Not many people around today wearing masks but plenty wearing gloves.

One of my lovely neighbours fell in her garden yesterday and thankfully was found quite quickly by her son. Her husband sadly died last November. So this afternoon I am going to make her a chocolate cake and pop along and have a cuppa with her in her front garden. Safe distancing.

Good morning from an intermittently cloudy or sunny north of Scotland. Main chores done and coffee time with GN. Had my first socially distant garden visitor for a cup of tea yesterday and we could have chatted until bedtime even though we have had telephone catchups. I couldn’t believe how long her hair was. Mine grows very slowly and I have been snipping away at it. looking forward to a Netflix party this evening with WhatsApp open so that we can make comments (funny, inappropriate etc.). Good Morning all from warm Harrogate (it was very sunny early on). I shall be doing a bit more baking today. Had GD yesterday. I was told I had to talk to her Kristoff doll!! He's not a conversationalist so didn't get far. She always has to take any clothes off dolls and teddies, but on this occasion unfortunately Kristoff's foot came off with his boot!! Handed him back to DD to fix.

ellenVannin.i often get a whiff of something like that. Musty, damp as if in a cellar. Ooooooeeeerrrrr!

Morning from a grey and drizzly Blackburn - again! I was so looking forward to a sunny day today as it was sunny at about 6am, but it vanished somewhere alone the line.
My masks have arrived today so can go shopping without having to put a scarf round my mouth and nose. Don't know how many people in Blackburn are sticking to our new rules as haven't been out since they were put in place. Wonder who is brave enough to tackle those who aren't wearing a mask in the mall, etc?

Good (beautiful, hot and blue) Morning everyone from S of France where we are all relieved (yessss!) or annoyed about Pres. Macron's decision to make mask-wearing MANDATORY in all inside spaces from Monday. This will save me practising my killer look at all the tourists who just don't seem to care. We're on holiday.....what pandemic....what social distancing?

Not anything too exciting chez nous - oh yes, DH (wearing reading glasses at screen yesterday evening) managed to put his wine glass down on the edge of the keyboard so that the glass tipped over and hit the desk! It didn't break and held only the smallest drop of red wine BUT the force with which a long-stemmed glass hit the desk threw a spray up the wall like you cannot imagine. It looked like Banksy's Sneezing Rat had been done again with a spray gun. The only room which we've not redecorated with decent English paint. It won't clean that's for sure. DH mortified but has already got out the paint charts for an order and will set to next week. Hey! Result! We can also have a turnout before doing so and he's even replacing the door to match all the others in the house. Every cloud, say I........

My blood ran cold at your story, mybirthdragon. What is it with small children? They could all star in The Matrix - they're there, they're not there - at warp factor speeds. So very happy to hear there was a good ending. Sounds as if little pep talks will be the order of the day when out cycling in future!

Scary to hear about your Daughter's partner, Gingster. Do tell us that it's all o.k. when you can, please. And your foot. If you get stung under your foot there's so much pain. Is there a chance that the sting could be in there? Silly question but I found a sting in my leg once after 4 days of pain. Tweezers might work but they (Boots?) also sell tiny little pumps now for that and to remove poison. Gelisajams - bad weather? But you're free and in "foreign parts" and having an adventure so I bet you'll have fun. Marydoll and Cherry take care and take it easy; Barmeyoldbat sad day for you, take it easy. Good morning all from grey skies in Glasgow.

All this talk of baking has put me in the mood to do some today. I have found a recipe for rock cakes in my Mother’s Bero book and will also make some Empire biscuits. I do miss buying Crawford’s Royal Scot biscuits which took no time to make Empire’s. The cheats way. ?

I’m glad the days of having an ‘empty’ are over for both our DDs Marydoll. I used to hear some horror stories of ‘empties’ when parents returned home to one which had become out of hand. Our two were warned within an inch of their lives, any disasters and there would be dire consequences! I’m sure they all must have thought we were a pair of ogres.?

Sun in and out of cloud, quite still and sort of mild. A disappointing week of weather which I wouldn't have been going far if things had been normal.

Whether I'll get a visit from D today remains to be seen as the children have now broken up, but she may call then I can see the them inside the car------better than nothing. I've got a birthday card and money to give her for my GGD who'll be there on Sunday with the carer for a tea party.

Hope all is well with your DD's partner, Gingster. I've been familiar with this sort of thing in the past when the body appears to paralyse. It can happen after a shock or a trauma of sorts but usually doesn't last. Scary though. To do with the nervous system, can't just remember the word when the whole body is affected but it ends in " gia " I think.

Just going into a nice sleep last night when the police helicopter decided to hover nearby for what seemed to be ages. Then my mind started to work overtime imagining someone climbing up the wall and fence here into the grounds to hide but the heat-seeker wasn't aimed anywhere near so I must have dropped off. It's ages since they've been in action, thank goodness.

Has anyone ever smelled a smell that drives them mad ? Every now and again I get a whiff of ( in my mind ) a very old musty, bare-bricked room----and it's not in my place. It conjures up all kinds of things when I smell it and I don't know where the dickens it's coming from. I've got a nose like a rat when it comes to smells. Over sensitive ? I'm not made right

Must remove the junk off the table that seems to mount up overnight so I'll do that for starters and might just muster up some energy to continue, koff.

Dinner with a difference today, fish-free ! I found an M&S chicken curry and rice in the freezer yesterday so took it out to defrost in the fridge and will do some chips with it also.

Still enjoy reading about those in foreign parts as I picture myself there----imagination runs amok, but it's lovely to have those memories.

Right, must shift myself in case the delivery man calls. I must have looked a fright yesterday when I answered the door to the most lovely man who brought the masks, I felt ashamed !

I feel Mick's excitement for his trip too, lucky man. Enjoy.

Good morning all from sunny Devon. I had a lovely pre-Birthday Picnic yesterday at our local Country Park my 1st visit despite it only being about 2 miles from home with DD, he OH, DGSs & a couple of friends social distancing observed , weather was perfect.

Probably go shopping later, just a top up, definitely a day in the garden, sitting or pottering around as the mood takes me. Decorating on hold for now.

DGS2 (3 years old) goes back to his Nursery next week just as DGS1 (10 years old) starts his "Summer Holiday", DD has been Home Schooling, strange situation but DGS2 needs to be back with his friends & have some "normality" in his life, the easing of "lockdown" when I became part of the "Family bubble" has helped but it is hard on the little ones who don't understand although DD has taught him that he can only hug Nan & not other people outside his immediate family

I got some v nice wild salmon yesterday and have a good selection of green vegetables so I plan to make a stir fry for supper.

Then I may take myself off into the shade to finish my book. I'm really enjoying The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell. It's the second one I have read by this author - The Corset was another excellent read. Easy tea today - salad and quiche. Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe x

Good morning from north east England. I’m having a day off after returning to work and it feels lovely again getting back into my work pattern and relived I still have a job! Being off so long made me realise I wasn’t ready for retirement just yet!going to the coast for a walk with. My sister and it feels like real treat!

A few chores to do but then, the world is my oyster, as they say. I might potter in the garden, or I might settle down with my book. Decisions, decisions!

Should have added Happy Hols for you NanKate. I don’t know which area you’ll be in but don’t feel tempted by a visit t Marwell Zoo. It was mayhem last Tuesday when we went with far too many bodies and excited kids. I don’t think they counted children in their admission figures!
