Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice blue sky start here in Brackley this morning, usual day of small shop etc .
Yesterday , managed to sort out my rail tickets online , hopefully in the post soon.
Although it will be a short break , but a change of scenery as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning Mick from cool and dry Spain where I’m enjoying the chamberpot before setting to with some yoga ?‍♀️. Glad you’ve managed to sort your break!

Some food shopping today and staying in this evening- I like a quiet spell after socialising two days on the trot! Managed to pick up some paperbacks in the local market so will settle down with one this evening on the terrace with some iced tea - I know how to live it up don’t I ?

Nice to see old posters returning and hope those not feeling clever pick up soon ?

grandMattie Fri 17-Jul-20 06:32:39

Morning everyone from a slightly cloudy E Kent.
Pant, I’ve finished two buckets to date! ? Mick, it seems all systems go. All the best.
Doing the church flowers this morning. I picked a whole load of wild flowers, some privet and some ivy to go with the dark red gladioli. It’ll certainly be different.
gilly, customers can certainly be very unkind and keep you dangling. I trust the order comes through today.
Everyone, have a peaceful day, your minds calmed your bodies at rest. Stay safe

Good morning Mick and all from a wet Glasgow.☹️

Glad to hear you got your tickets sorted Mick. I know you have a printer, could you not manage to print them out, saves worrying about the post.?

Well Pantglas, a local market, oh how I wish I could be there for two reasons!
Firstly, I love Spanish markets and secondly, shielders in Scotland from today, can visit an open air market.
Unfortunately, I'm in wet and miserable old Glasgow and secondly, I can't find an open air market to visit!! ?

DH is reluctantly golfing, he is a fairweather golfer ⛳?️‍♂️ and doesn't like getting wet! ⛈️☔ I don't like him getting wet either, as the house will be strewn with wet and smelly golfing clothes!?

Another easy day for me, I'm still out of sorts, but may bake to take my mind off things.

Hugs for all our poorly goodmorningers and their families. Sometimes I think we forget the carers it's difficult for them too.

Have a good day folks.

Morning Mick and All

Cloud with sun breaking through in South Bucks.

Off for our first hols since the Lockdown. I know it will be very different from our normal hols as we will be wearing masks most of the time whilst out. I hate them and I can’t breathe properly but I know it has to be done. DH is far more rigorous than me and will no doubt sleep in his. ?

Hope your open air markets open soon Mary and that you get some summer in your northerly part of the world.

I will greet you from the New Forest tomorrow with a pony or two in the background, maybe some of the donkeys from Beaulieu will pop round for a carrot ?

Beechnut Fri 17-Jul-20 06:55:25

Good Morning everyone from a cloudy start to the day on Severnside.

I will do my weekly food shop this morning and then take the day as it comes. I think I’ll go and do it in another town for a change.
Have a good day everyone ?

cornergran Fri 17-Jul-20 06:58:41

Morning snick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. Off for a walk this morning, not sure what else today, bit achey so nothing strenuous. The tickets will come I’m sure mick, plenty of time. Fingers crossed for gilly, it must be a tense wait. You’re right about carers marydoll, often overlooked. Go gently with the baking. Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good Morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

It is DD's first day of school holidays here, so I am going over to sit in their garden, and maybe a walk round the fields near their village.

Yesterday my Partner took a load of junk to the tip. You have to book a slot now, which I think is better as he was straight in, and out within a few minutes.

Home made battered fish and chips tonight.

Enjoy your break in the New Forest NanKate it is a lovely area. Have been camping there in the past and remember a pony going right inside someones tent looking for food.

It would have been Upton Blues Festival this weekend. 4 days of live music in the town. It is usually packed, so it sadly had to be cancelled. We usually camp, but this year would have been the first in our caravan. Which we bought the end of last year, and not used it yet. A testing out trip is planned for the last few days of July.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from Perthshire where there is a soft rain falling. Might have to have a favourite drive through the Cairngorms if it rains too much. People in the town, which was fairly quiet, all carrying masks ready to pop on if going inside. Had a short walk when we arrived a nice lunch overlooking a golf course. Think I saw a market advertised locally for tomorrow. Will have to investigate! Fingers crossed for your order Gilly. Hope everyone has the best day possible flowers

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Another humid day in the offing.
I saw a man on TV who had his mask on a string round his neck like the one you can use for specs. Easy to pull on and off by the ear pieces without touching the mask as you go in and out. Might try it.

Housework and shopping here today. Friends coming over for dinner tonight so will need to squeeze in an afternoon nap!

Good Morning from a drizzly Fife, not nice at all. This is the first day I feel a little bit of normality in my day. I'm off to get my hair done. Have to say it's with a bit of anxiety as it feels strange to have this 'normal' feeling within and also of course because of the closeness to someone other than family. I'm not really jumping with joy and now wish really I wasn't going. However I am so will just get on with it. Other than that will take the day as it comes. Hope everyone has a pleasant day and you know I'm thinking of everyone, take care.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s light grey cloud, no sun in sight yet but it’s quite warm.
I had a fun afternoon yesterday when I went to the local retail park to meet my friend for a coffee. All the usual places were either closed or take away only. Eventually we gave up and went to the local garden centre instead as their cafe was open. We both really enjoyed our first coffee out since March and sat chatting for ages whilst still trying to keep our distance. I got home quite late afternoon and flopped on the sofa - exhausted after all the excitement ?
Have a great holiday nanKate I remember lovely holidays I had years ago in the New Forest and fingers crossed it brightens up soon mancgirl
I hope everyone has a good day today, especially those with worries and troubles and take care whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Fri 17-Jul-20 07:27:21

Good morning from Essex. Simpson skies above. DH just gone off to play golf, so I’ve got an ‘empty’ as Marydoll would say. Never heard that expression before ☺️.

My foot is still puffed up and painful - right on the ball of my sole. Won’t be able to take little pooch out for her run/walk. She has a vets appointment this evening for her intermittent limp, so I might book myself in too.

DD’s partner suddenly seized up yesterday. Couldn’t move and dialled 999. Two ambulances arrive and four paramedics worked on him for an hour. Then off to hospital. Haven’t a clue what’s wrong!

It’s my lovely DG’s 18th birthday today . She’s such a dear ♥️. Feel sorry for her as this summer was going to be special. She wasn’t able to take her A levels (Corona) that she’d worked so hard for. Her driving test was cancelled. Also first holiday with pals cancelled. No party. Not sure when Universities will be opening. She wants to study mental health nursing. I don’t ghink she’ll ever be out of a job , especially after this pandemic.

Have a gentle day, all ?

Aldom Fri 17-Jul-20 07:28:13

Good morning Mick and everyone. My central heating boiler is being serviced today. Later, I must do some shopping for weekend food. I've invited a friend for lunch on Sunday. Thanks for thinking of Carers' Marydol. I cared for my husband for many years. The sky is brighter this morning, so I think we will have a sunny day for the French outdoor Market in our little town square. We also have a Market Wednesday and Saturday. Much reduced at present, just food stalls. Warm wishes to all with illness or difficulties to cope with, especially Marydol and Gillybob.

Urmstongran Fri 17-Jul-20 07:41:18

Sun's up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

Just had one very excited birthday boy grandson on the phone from Urmston! “Guess what grandma?” (I love that question from children don’t you?). Such a joyful 8 year old. This is the first one we haven’t spent with him. No birthday party for him (like a lot of others) but a couple of extra presents and the chance of sunshine there to ride his new bike!
?
And then the 3y old in the background ‘I want to talk now’ (she is the same age as your granddaughter Marydoll and off to school in September).
❤️

So, lovely start to my day.
A beach day as it’s Friday. When we walk up, sun oily, sandy, we will be calling in at El Corner Bar to have a drink with a couple who have been out here on holiday and who go home tomorrow. They will be nicely dressed and ready to go out for dinner up in Arroyo so it works well for them too, having a pre-prandial ‘quick one’. I shall feel underdressed ha!
?

Here am I with easy access to 3 Spanish markets a week, one at Paloma Park up the road and two others and I never go. I’m not a fan of markets - never have been for some reason. Hehe!

Right, best get a wriggle on. I’ve sandwiches to make, a swimsuit to jump into and a beach bag to pack.

Sorry for the long post. I promise to do a very short one tomorrow to cancel things out!

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Marydoll Fri 17-Jul-20 07:42:44

Ginger, an empty is an expression my children and their friends used when parents were out for the night or on holiday and they could invite their friends round for the evening ( or even all night wink ).

Years ago, my daughter thought she had got away with an empty party until I found a cigar butt, behind the sofa in the conservatory!? I don't anyone who smokes!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's partner. Hoping he makes a speedy recovery.

Puzzler61 Fri 17-Jul-20 07:45:55

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm, intermittently sunny Worcs.
As NannyJan says it would have been the Blues Festival at Upton this weekend - which is close by me - and usually brings many visitors to the riverside town. With all the floods it suffered at the end of last year and the beginning of this the town could have done with the trade, and the great atmosphere that always presides. Sadly it’s not to be. I hope the little independents can survive.

Not much to tell today, all well at Puzzler Towers ?, an empty for me too as DH has gone for a round of golf, but it is dry so we escape the wet clothing scenario later when the golf gear gets strewn around the house to dry Mary.
I’ll send the dry weather up to Glasgow to replace your wet stuff.

Take care all on what is to us Fish & Chips Friday. Yours sound delicious Jan.
?

Puzzler61 Fri 17-Jul-20 07:49:20

Maryd we came back from holiday having left our 17 year old daughter home alone for the first time and found rubber multi-coloured “confetti” all over the lawn.
What was it? Nothing rude ?,
She had friends round and they had water bomb fights in the garden and when the water filled balloons are impacted by a hand, they explode.
She said “we tried to vacuum them up with the handheld, but it wouldn’t suck them up! ?

kittylester Fri 17-Jul-20 07:53:30

Morning all from a warm North Leicestershire.

Making biscuits for a visit by my oldest friend. We have spoken regularly since lockdown started but I havent seen her since early March.

We had a lovely day yesterday. We met DS1 for lunch in a cafe with seating on the street so had the chance for lots of people watching. Then we had our usual Thursday neighbours drinks next door which is always lovely!!

Enjoy your days.

MellowYellow Fri 17-Jul-20 08:03:48

Morning everyone from a misty south Cornwall. Awake at 4, yikes, so sat on my patio swing seat with a cuppa. My honeysuckle has flowered suddenly and it was like sitting in a perfume bottle. Looks like I've got a 4-year-old granddaughter today, just had a message asking if she can come and play. Bless. Cooked playdough-making methinks. Have a good day everyone, hope DDs partner will be ok Gingster.

Grandmabatty Fri 17-Jul-20 08:10:30

Good morning All. Grey here in Polmont. Yesterday I had two friends round for a garden visit. They stayed for four hours and honestly it felt like no time at all. This morning I'm going to my oldest and dearest friend's mum's funeral. She will be missed very much but was ready to go after a very long life well lived. This afternoon will be a quiet one for me, just gently pottering. Have a good Friday everyone.

Nannytopsy Fri 17-Jul-20 08:11:58

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Enjoy your meet up Kitty!
Light cloud in Suffolk but it’s warmer already. There is someone coming to repair the dishwasher ( we hope!) and then DD&SIL return from their holiday near Whitby. Not quite like the south of France but they have enjoyed themselves.
They have requested a Madhur Jaffrey curry I have made for years, then tomorrow DS & DGC join us to christen the BBQ they all bought us for Christmas. It seemed a shame to make it dirty just for us two!
I can’t believe it is Friday already. Only two more weeks until my hair cut!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

harrigran Fri 17-Jul-20 08:15:34

Good morning from an overcast NE. It is mild but oh so cloudy.
Our Cote at home is being is being delivered in two hours, yummy, lobster and frites for lunch washed down with a very decent wine.
Sat on the front terrace and a neighbour wandered over and invaded my space, I was cross because he uses public transport to go to work every day. I excused myself saying I had to go indoors to charge my phone.
Stay safe.

Justwidowed Fri 17-Jul-20 08:21:34

Morning everyone from a sunny/cloudy Lancashire. I seem to be busy doing nothing half of the time but today I'm going uptown.
Masks are readý for my bus journey, jelly babies in handbag (just in case the excitement of my trip out lowers my blood sugar. )

Then it's the library,10 books to return and possibly take out 6 more. I am looking forward to some good reads.I may have coffee out and possibly lunch ,if I feel brave enough to venture in .
Hope everyone has as pleasant a day as me.But for those who don't, hopefully things will begin to improve, especially Marydoll and Gillybob .

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 17-Jul-20 08:21:56

Good morning from east London, where the sun is working its way out, warm outside. Tennis this morning then whatever comes our way later on. Had a bit of a fright yesterday when we were out walking along the river near Woolwich with DD and the girls and DG1 disappeared. She’d cycled ahead of us and turned a corner and a minute later she wasn’t there. After a frantic 15 minutes running up and down the path, checking out if anyone had seen her, DD rang the police and it turned out they’d just picked her up after a passerby had found her cycling through a housing estate away from the river. She was totally unfazed by it all, got to ride in the front seat of the police car but I think there’ll be a leading rein on that bike in the future.
Hope you have a good day
