Beatrice looked beautiful in her dress and I thought it was a lovely gesture from HRH to lend it to her. HRH and Philip looked very well and happy. One of the glossy magazines published photographs of Beatrice, Eugenie, Kate and Meghan in the wedding dresses; all completely different styles and taste and all beautiful.

I like the expression ‘proper English gentleman’ BlueSky even though he is Italian.

Felt sorry for his ex wife knowing that her son of 4 years old was Best Man to his dad. Pretty absurd IMO.

Thought the bride looked lovely I wonder what Fergie wore.

I have one leg which is discoloured as well, the other leg is fine. I agree FoghornLeghorn the Queens legs must have carried her a lot of miles and stood through endless ceremonies etc.

I’m always noticing how slim all the Royal family’s legs are (ladies). They all seem happy to show a leg (lower) or knees when they are wearing gorgeous dresses/suits to events like weddings.

I don’t think any of them have chubby legs like mine, whether they are mature, like Camilla, or young, like Catherine.

Do you suppose all the clothes the Queen has ever worn are stored away somewhere, 'in case they come in useful'? There must be thousands. I often wonder what happened to all the clothes of previous monarchs; Elizabeth 1 was supposed to have left a thousand dresses, and I don't think even a part of one is extant

Much of the stuff left by Plantagenet and Tudor monarchs was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell. Certainly, he had all the Crown Jewels from those periods melted down. Such a tragedy that none of it exists to this day.

On a different subject, talking about the Queen’s clothes, I think they are all kept as a matter of historical interest. I went to the exhibition of her clothes at Buckingham Palace in 2016. This included both her wedding and her coronation gowns, many formal ball gowns from her young days, and lots of day outfits, notably all those worn at her children’s and grandchildren’s weddings. The ball gowns from her youth were amazing, very elaborately beaded and decorated and her waist was absolutely tiny.

I think, like a lot of people her age she has poor return circulation which can lead to varicose ulcers. I’ve noticed that sometimes she has a small, flesh coloured dressing under her tights as her skin will break easily as now probably paper thin. Hardly surprising as her poor legs have been carrying her around for over ninety years.

I do, in my line of work see quite a few pairs of elderly legs.
Some of them are not as lovely as they were but I have one woman of 87 whose legs are fabulous so it’s not inevitable.

Phillip looked a lot better than I expected. I was imagining him frail and bed ridden for some reason.

I bet Beatrice is so relieved to have had her big day despite her obnoxious father and dim mother. What a stressful time it must have been in the run up to the wedding.

The Queen was limping noticeably when she knighted Tom Moore.

My MIL's legs were often discoloured as if bruised even though she hadn't knocked them. The nurse said skin gets really fragile with age and with some medication.

The flowers were beautiful at the wedding. The dress was lovely too. I didn't notice the queen's legs but sadly our legs age with the rest of our body.

I thought it was lovely that the Queen left the wedding and made Captain Tom a sir. She didn't change outfits either.

Since I turned 70 the skin on my shins and my forearms bruise at the slightest touch. My mother suffered the same thing particularly on her shins. So much so that I used to threaten to buy her shin guards (football apparel) for her birthday.

Well just what I said a proper English gentleman as in Mills & Boon! Actually his father is Italian and his mother British, I didn't know so I looked him up.

Oh my goodness bluesky how twee a proper English gentleman what the heck does that mean Pure white skin, blue eyes a suit, a business and of good English stock ..... you CANNOT tell someone’s character by a photo I m sure her father would fit that bill too ?

So did I maddyone, she looked radiant, and so nice to wear her Grandmothers dress and tiara, lovely.

I thought Beatrice looked lovely in her grannie’s dress, which had been altered to fit and be more suitable as a wedding gown. I’m pleased she managed to get married, I have felt so very sorry for all the couples whose wedding plans were dashed by the Coronavirus.
