Good Morning Everyone,
Its a clear blue sky start this morning in Brackley , could be a warm day as well.
Nothing unusual today for me , some housework etc .
Try and keep up to date with what's going on.

Good Morning all - the sun is trying to shine in Harrogate. Some builders have arrived to knock down a garden wall before it falls down. It's been an ongoing dispute for at least two years, it is a retaining wall (holds our garden in). It is our responsibility apparently, but it's being pulled down by neighbours Ivy!! She doesn't think it's anything to do with her. Problem being it's been caused by neglect by both our previous owners and hers. What this space!!

I could sit all day watching the Puffins. They're like little men strutting around and my last and long visit was with my late cousin in the IOM as we sat on a seat with our fresh crab sandwiches overlooking the Calf of Man where the bird life is something else.

Seals galore playing amongst the rocks and a little fishing boat tossing around like a cork with a myriad of seabirds flying above it. A few puffins came to say hello but I couldn't part with any of my sandwich for them---how mean was that ?, my excuse was that they only ate the raw fish out of the sea grin That place on a fine day is magic.

Lucy I moved with the contents of 3 houses!!!! Almost went insane.

When you get up in the morning and feel energised.....hope that'll be soon.....empty all the outstanding boxes at the same time if you have the space. Re-acquaint yourself with all the contents! Put all your treasures and things for the house on one side, put anything you want to store directly into one box at a time, seal it closed with a written sheet on it so you can find anything important and put those boxes one at a time into store (loft, garage, whatever). Aim is to get all packing and boxes out of the house and your living space, if possible. Then you are forced to deal with the stuff left inside. The feeling you'll get when it's done is wonderful. Getting up the energy and interest to do that.....well, leave that to you. I just got very tired of feeling I was living in a very temporary state. Good luck !

Good morning all from a sunny and breezy East Midlands.

Shopping done and cleaned and put away. Much more people wearing masks today.

Susan - I watched Countryfile last night and it brought back lovely memories for me.

Gelisajams - Thank you so much for the photos - I too love Puffins. When I lived in the north east as a child we had a one brought into the class at school. It was injured and had been found on the nearby beach. Our teacher took it along to the vets.

Gillybob - I hope you get that much needed order.

Sending love and hugs to you all. Stay safe.

I know what you mean about the loss of spontaneity Mapleleaf. You have summed up exactly how I feel too. The loss of being in the mood to pop out for something or to do anything like a browse around to do some shopping or a trip out seems like a good idea until by the time I have thought through all the precautions in place, the mood has left me. I try not to dwell on it but some days I am more aware of it than others.

Good morning all from another sunny start in Glasgow. I hope though that the ‘breeze’ we had yesterday doesn’t return. Trying to hang washing out yesterday was comical as a particularly strong gust blew just as I was hanging DH’s denims and I got quite a slap in the face from one of the legs ?. Far too windy for a garden visit from DD and the girls to come for lunch so fingers crossed it will happen today.

A neighbour’s 17 yr old daughter had some friends for a garden visit last night and as it is so quiet here I’m sure many of us shared in the laughter and non stop talking which went on until 2 am. Obviously delighted to get together and lots to catch up on. ?

Hope everyone has a pleasant day and a better one if you are struggling either with illness, worries or feeling down.

Good morning from Shrewsbury.
Today hoping to get motivated to unpack and sort. Moved months ago but lost mojo on craft room and lots of boxes for rest of house. Got furniture and every day basic essentials sorted. Somewhere in that lot are my ‘treasures’ and loved items. Anyone out there got a trick or technique to find mojo again? So tired of these groundhog days. Wishing all wonderful things.

Good Morning all. Blackburn, after a lovely sunny day yesterday, has reverted to type and is overcast and it has been raining. I've got blood tests this afternoon so hope the weather is good enough for me to go to the health centre in my electric wheelchair otherwise it means having to find somewhere to park nearby.
It's very confusing here in Blackburn as we had new measures put into place last week about wearing face coverings in enclosed public places (but that might not have included churches!) but now I don't know if they are legally enforceable and I am totally confused. I have asked for clarification on this.
Hope you all have a good day.

Puzzler61 Mon 20-Jul-20 09:58:34

Exquisite photo of the puffin Gelisajams.
The water looks so blue - I can see why you love the Shetland isles!
Have a great day.

Morning all from a bright and breezy South Yorkshire. Whoever is hiding Summer, can you please put it back! ?

Planted a few geraniums and DH cut the grass - that amounted to our excitement for the day yesterday!
Not sure what exciting, thrilling things await today, but it will include some ironing! ?

I think the inability to be spontaneous is getting to me a bit now - everything has to be thought through and planned (apart from a walk around the village or trip to the supermarket) rather than being able to say "I know, lets go to such and such a place today". I'm sure those days will come back, but goodness knows when.

Nankate I hope your finger feels a bit easier today - it sounds sore.

Fingers crossed for you gilly regarding the potential customer. I really do hope he/she is not taking you for a ride and picking your brains to then go off and do it themselves.

That sounds to have been a lovely day EV for your GGD and family.

Puffins are very cute, aren't they, Gelisajams. I've seen them at Bempton cliffs.

Take care and stay safe, everyone.

Gelisajams,I am so envious.Puffins are my favourite birds, would love to see them close up,I also love otters. We are probably not going to go away this year as I am still quite anxious but you have given us the idea of somewhere to plan for next year.

Maw,hoping Hattie is continuing to improve after her weekend in the animal hospital??

Sending much love and good wishes to Cherry, dragonfly, blue sapphire,Annsixty and anyone else struggling with illness and worries.?

Good morning from a dry and sometimes bright NE.
Visited the family in their garden, lovely to see GDs in the flesh, teenager sat with us throughout, a great honour.
Message on answer machine when I returned, sister sounded upset so decided I would have to contact her.
Watched the film Three billboards, don't understand why it won oscars.
Nothing planned for today except deliver card to BIL, it is his 70th birthday tomorrow.

Grandmafrench Mon 20-Jul-20 09:45:02

Good Morning everyone from where the S of ?? dark blue skies have just a few little wispy clouds. Another hot day forecast. Our day interrupted with necessary City visit. Normally that would be a real treat. Today and in the light of Covid, not so much - sadly!

That looks like such a beautiful place for a break, Gelisa, but wild and spectacular sea views go together with wild changing weather, so I expect you have to watch the weather by the hour if you’re out and about. Loads better than sitting at home, though. I’m envy. I’d just sit down with the Puffins!

Better week, hopefully gilly. Something has to change (probably) with how you sell your product if some people are able to take the mickey, wasting all your time and emotion and just use you as both sounding board and a cheap learning process. More than infuriating. You’ll have to work out how firmly, and on what, to hold back, IMHO (sorry for unsolicited advice but I think it’s more than maddening).

We once sat in a fabulous Auberge in Provence after a particularly delicious supper, listening to a very loud American woman who “insisted” that the waiter go and ask the Chef AGAIN, PLEASE, for the recipes for 2 dishes she had eaten!!!! She didn’t like/didn’t get why she got a No each time! Even the surrounding diners started to join in....you can imagine how indignant people were. If you have the know-how, ability and experience in a business and others don’t, well, that’s how you’ll maintain success. Simples?!?! Best of everything to you, this week.

Hope your poor finger doesn’t need a stitch and that the Pharmacist can sort it for you, poor Nan whose post I have mislaid. Sorry.

Hope things go well today for Mr Georgesgran and that happy beach days continue for the Spanish contingent! ?
There must be cake, Ellan. Fingers crossed a wonderful day was had by all. You - being you and a typical selfless Gran - will be so happy to hear that even though you couldn’t be there youself. Keep counting the days all you shielding types and to everyone else with a little plan to see friends and family...enjoy it all.

Thinking of all the missing posters. Feel so much better, soon please. Hugs x

Morning Mick and all from the Highlands. It's sunny at the moment after a very mixed day weatherwise yesterday. They say you can get 4 seasons in 1 day in Scotland but up here we can get them in 1 hour. However it's nice to hear about so many enjoying a bit more freedom and also to hear from new posters. After my "hectic" birthday weekend (out two days running) having an easy day today. Have had landscape gardeners re-designing (pulling to bits!!!) my back garden over the last week. It is on a slope and was becoming dangerous. Work was supposed to start in early April but of course that didn't happen and it has been a much harder job due to trees, shrubs and everything else now in full growth. I did move my pots, large and small, but the plants and surrounding areas are covered in stoor which I hosed down last night but don't know if they will recover. I was really wanting heavy rain to do the job but we haven't really had enough. Hope it stays nice for everyone today.

Auntieflo Mon 20-Jul-20 09:36:59

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
It is bright and sunny here, which lifts the spirits no end. I am so grateful for the , mostly good, weather that we have had these last few months.
I could go into the garden and talk severely to the weeds that pop up willy nilly when my back is turned, or I could just have another lazy day. These are getting more frequent. Or I could make a cake! We shall see.
I shall have to tackle the freezer soon, and see what is still in there that we fancy eating.

Yesterday evening we watched some old DVD's of 'Yes Minister'. They are so good, and we have a whole boxed set.

I do so hope that Gillybob, gets her order. Why do they need such technical questions answered? Are they stringing her along?
Hoping that Marydoll, and all posters who are needing a bit of help will be fine soon.
Have a good day one and all.

Gelisajams Mon 20-Jul-20 09:36:03

Good morning from Shetland where it looks to be a better day although a squally shower can never be ruled out here. This is my second attempt at a post , the previous one is somewhere in the ether! Went to the south of the island to watch the puffins yesterday. They are so cut and quite tame. A local walk today hoping to see an otter or a passing whale ....?
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Gelisajams Mon 20-Jul-20 09:16:15

Good morning from Shetland where it promises to be dry for the next couple of days and not so windy. A squally shower can never be ruled out though. Yesterday we went to the south of the island to watch the puffins. They are quite tame and so cute. Today will be a local walk hoping to see an otter and a passing whale.....?

Good morning from Durham - overcast and cool (yet again).
Taking DH to Surgery for blood test before chemo tomorrow - the last of the weekly session, then going onto monthly.

My car’s booked in at lunchtime for an estimate to repair the bodywork after I stupidly reversed into our wall! I’ll just pay for it if it’s a ‘reasonable amount’ otherwise it’ll have to be an insurance job.

Feel for Gillybob - caught between a rock and a hard place. Similar experience years ago - had to divulge a business plan when trying a ‘buy out’ - which the existing owner then used. My fingers are crossed.

Just seen a flash of blue sky, so not abandoning hope just yet!
X

Good morning muck and all

Bright and warm here in S E Essex big question of the day do I sit on the lounger to read or do the ironing, I think I know what I prefer ?

Mythbirtthedragon we tend to go to either Chalkwell or to East Beach which is where one of our AC live.

Managed to get two home deliveries this week one for GrandpaGravy to top up his beer fridge and wine rack in anticipation of some entertaining and a Waitrose to top up my larder.

Thinking of all our missing posters

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Good Morning All x
A return to cloudy skies after yesterdays brightness though a stiff breeze was present making it feel a bit on the cool side so not altogether summery but at least I got all the washing dry.

Hope to learn today how the tea party went down yesterday. I still can't believe the kindness of a carer bringing GGD on a near 3hr journey to join the family, then the same on her return. We believe it's a lovely place in the country, with a home from home atmosphere, a therapeutic place.

I know there were lots of presents involved and there would have been great excitement, including a little bag of gifts for all the children. Wonder if there was any cake left !?

I reckon D will be having a well-earned lie-in after a week of preparation and shopping of course, so I won't be too eager in phoning her up.

Ordered flowers online yesterday directly in Sydney for D and SiL wedding anniversary for tomorrow, very reasonable for what looked like a beautiful arrangement of mixed flowers, so hope that'll be a nice surprise and give her a lift. It was so simple and straightforward to do and cheaper than phoning grin

Won't be doing much as usual apart from preparing eats for later---a salad to go with the rest of yesterdays pork and perhaps some cold sliced potatoes in mayo.

I was so uplifted earlier by the 104 year old beautiful lady who was doing " uphill " walks for charity, saying that if Sir Tom can do it so can I---104 ??! What a wonderful girl bless her.

I do hope everyone's doing alright and taking things gently and safely. Absent friends are always thought of flowers
Take it easy everyone and stay safe. Enjoy the day whatever you do xx.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire. We had a nice walk down the valley yesterday. The enormous combine was in the yard at the farm so it looks like it will be all go this week if the weather holds. Lots of rape seed looking good to go. Today will be domestics at Chez Duster and some light gardening. Have a good safe day folks.

Megs36 Mon 20-Jul-20 09:08:45

We too are looking forward to release from shielding (my husband), we have had no one in the house since March 17th apart from paramedics at first, ) isolation in hospital for a week ) and then incarceration ??Had a couple of garden visitors but bringing their own drinks. Didn’t think anyone should come in and to be fair the family were too worried to bring ‘something’ in.Chiropodist came but sat in open conservatory fully gowned. Husband can drive now and go for a walk but got bad back atm so not even doing that. He may have problems with a mask when he finally feels he can go further because he has COPD among other things. we look forward to having visitors but may need to do some housework.?
