Never the tip here. Either the dump or the cowp. I am just happy it’s open again albeit bookings are necessary for certain days allowing us to finally empty the garage of what has accumulated over months! ?

Good Morning Everyone,
Looks like another warm day here in Brackley .
Quiet day today ,apart from maybe an electrician checking wiring maybe today .
Yesterday visiting Buckingham , getting busy n the bus as well as in the town itself .
Got a reply as to Harrogate as to pub I had intended to have a Sunday roast in, closed for a refurbishment , so looks like the hotel on Sunday evening ,slowly working out a itinerary for my short stay .
Take Care ,
Mick

.
Take Care Folks
Morning Mick and all. Pretty damp here in the Highlands but clouds are breaking up so should be okay by afternoon. Landscapers have finished and I have just arranged payment using internet banking. Got me wondering does anyone write cheques these days? Glad Marydoll got sunshine for her trip to the seaside. Reading this morning's posts reminded me of my favourite song from John Denver "Some days are diamonds, some days are stones".
Here I am on a canal somewhere in North Warwickshire.
We have sunshine but it's a bit feeble and no Urmston I'm not going to tell you how much my boat cost!
Two posts mentioning, "The teacher look," took me back to training college and the realisation that we were never taught it.
Is it genetic?
Long years ago ExH and I booked a four day break in Paris, not realising it was the Bastille Day weekend. The first day we came back to the hotel in the late afternoon having totally failed to get in anywhere or buy anything to eat.
The receptionist was lolling on one of the armchairs in the entrance hall. After a few moments I gave him the look and he leapt to his feet and organised food.
Good morning from sunny Gower.
Just popping in to wish Happy Birthday ? to Gingster and GrannyG ??????
? gillybob
Take care everyone ❤️
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it has been raining steadily for hours and my Wednesday group in the garden has had to be cancelled so where do I go to get the local gossip?
We had a lovely weekend away in the far north of Scotland where things are just starting to open up though no restaurants or hotels. I tried to book a meal in one and was told they were going to operate as a B&B until further notice. I felt sorry for B&B ers hoping to get an evening meal.
We met an enthusiastic couple from Essex who had arrived on our beach in their motorhome and were not respecting any distancing until I reminded them.
I am sorry to hear of your troubles Gillybob and really hope they can be resolved but you do make me giggle with your description of the HMRCs!
There was a jobsworth parking attendant at the hospital yesterday who insisted we had an appointment card - which we were unable to locate Grr. She rather patronisingly said we would have a lot on our plate so this time, she would allow us to park. It is the cancer dept but building work means parking is restricted to construction workers only
Such a lot has happened since we left on Friday. I am still catching up.
Wonderful that you had a day buy the sea in glorious sunshine Marydoll
Happy birthday to GrannyGravy and to Gingster and any others.
Good morning,
A dull but fairly mild morning today.
Happy birthday to Grannygravy and Gingster. I hope you both have a good day. ???
Not a lot planned for today, but I am going to try and book a hair appointment. Other than that, a day of this and that, I think.
? gillybob and here's hoping that today brings some much needed ?. I don't understand why some people feel the need to be rude and "superior" on the phone. I suppose they think that because they can't be seen and they are the ones holding all the strings, some of them think they can be as rude and unpleasant as they like. Report it.
Take care everyone.
I use that excuse many times BladeAnnie.
I’m such a soft touch and can’t bear to move the tabby girl when she looks so comfy and settled on my lap. ?
?
Good morning all from an overcast mid-Notts. His Lordship the cat is sitting on my lap resplendent in all his ginger loveliness, I've not got the heart to disturb him despite the fact I've got bedding to change, dishwasher to empty etc etc. My excuse anyway!! Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe x
Morning all from an overcast South Notts, I wonder if it will rain? The ironing's done and folded, now I'm tackling decluttering my sewing/computer room. It's in a right old mess. I'm having to be ruthless (fairly) and chuck things out - if a project's been knocking about for a few years I'm never going to finish it, am I?
I wish I had a magic wand Gillybob to wave your cares away, no wonder you get so down sometimes.
I very much enjoyed The Salt Path a few months ago Beechnut as it was an interesting read.
Many happy returns to the birthday girls. Hope all is well for those with worries and illness.
Good morning from Shropshire.
DGD staying so baking cookies planned then will take the day as it comes.
?for gilly and grandmafrench.Hope you are both feeling better after your stressful days.
Thinking of you all.
Happy birthday to our birthday girls?????
Morning All
High thin cloud here in the north of Norfolk.
We’re off to collect DGDog from a half way meeting point in Thetford forest while his family go on holiday. DGD’s will be there and it’ll be the first time we’ve seen them in the flesh since Christmas. Lunch at a burger bar and we’re taking the campervan so we have a clean loo!
Looks like we’re leaving early. Will catch up later!!
I had wondered if it was a north/south thing kitty! Or an Americanism. Up our way I’ve never heard anyone saying ‘we’re going to the dump’.
Oh gillybob. It never rains but it pours for you. It must seem like two steps forward and one back sometimes. x
EV noise to take the plaque off your teeth - I love your turn of phrase!
?
Good morning from Shetland where it is bright and calm at the moment. It was supposed to be nice all day yesterday but a couple of miles into our walk the heavens opened and we had to abandon as I foolishly left my waterproofs behind. Will try again today.
Happy Birthday Grannygravy and Gingster and hoping for a better day for Gilly
Glad you had good day Marydoll take it easy today.
Stay safe everyone and take care?
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and the GM team from a greyish east London.
Happy Birthday Ginster and Grannygravy, wishing you a year full of good health and good things ?
I plan to sit in the garden today and start Mary Trump’s book, after I have done some housework.
I have two family birthdays this month, so need to get the presents wrapped for posting. My poor partner has to go to the PO for me and to pick up my numerous and varied meds from the chemist, as I am still shielding.
We have been watching ‘The Murdoch Empire’ on television, fascinating viewing. I fell asleep (not from boredom) before the end yesterday but will watch it on catch up, before the final episode is aired next week.
Have a good day all and ?to those facing challenges.
Happy birthday to gingster and grandmagravy. Its a wet and miserable day here in Polmont. gillybob? to you for such a horrible experience yesterday. It really throws you off kilter, doesn't it? I hope you feel strong enough to complain. marydoll I haven't been to Prestwick for ages. Arran is such a lovely island and my family have had many happy memories of holidays there. The teacher look never goes! I use it myself on occasion. I'm off out shortly to pick up my son and take him to the garage to collect his car. I'm a bit apprehensive, not for myself, but for him as his car is then going to the scrap and I'm not sure it'll make it! A quiet day otherwise. I've run out of bread and rather than buy it, I think I'll make some. Have a good day all.
Sorry you had such a rubbish day yesterday gillybob I really hope things get better for you soon ❤️
Happy Birthday Grannygravy and Gingster ??. Enjoy your special day.
Maw. So pleased to see Hattie back home with you. Huge cuddle for her as she recovers with your TLC and a bit of spoiling.
Sending (hugs) to gilly. Sorry I missed you out.
urmston, it's always the dump here. It's where you dump rubbish - you must be very genteel to only tip rubbish!!
And this rubbish definitely needs dumping not tipping.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a cloudy Lancashire. Hope it improves later as I'm expecting an invite to morning coffee and cakes at a neighbours house.
Happy birthday to Ginster and Grannygravy. and hope you enjoy your meal out *grannygravy
I'm looking forward to Rishis 50% discount on meals from the 1st August. Planning Monday and Wednesday's out so far.
Hope Marydoll and Gillybob have better days soon.
Good morning all where it is positively chucking it down in Perthshire. A last minute decision yesterday morning, DH was happy to stay home but I was raring to go as my get up and go was finally found.
The roads were a lot quieter than I expected and I enjoyed a sunny day to drive through the beautiful scenery en route to the But and Ben. Tided up the garden furniture and had a long lunch with my lovely neighbour. Lots of catching up to do over lunch in the sun and a bottle of chilled white. My neighbour brought the wine so it would have been I’ll mannered of me not to accept a glass or two. ?
Later on when I opened the shed I was met by a swarm of wasps then discovered a nest behind the door. A good wack with the garden brush got rid of it and they thankfully disappeared. Great plans to start some much needed gardening scuppered due to such a wet day so a day footering about indoors making the most of an empty. ??
Hope everyone has a pleasant day and best wishes for a more positive, easier day for those who are struggling with troubled times.
Good Morning All x.
Quite a heavy and dull sky, very still everywhere but it's dry. Can't really tell how the rest of the day will be as it began like this yesterday and the sun came out late afternoon which ended rather pleasantly.
Grass cutters were here yesterday and the smell of mown grass everywhere is wonderful. I can't get enough of it. It was coming through the bedroom window as I drifted off to sleep---better than any sleeping draught.
Then, horror of horrors again, that dratted helicopter and this time it was overhead ! I'm sure they knew I'd gone to bed so decided to be mischievous
I couldn't hear myself think ! It sounded like a heavy old thing and I had visions of it landing in the garden. The noise would have removed plaque off your teeth.
I'll probably read in tomorrows paper what it was all about, like last weeks debacle---when it was a stolen vehicle.
Needless to say, I soon dropped off and probably wouldn't have heard a bomb exploding.
Hoovered past myself yesterday and the difference was clearly visible but I was jiggered. That little hoover lived up to its name, Whirlwind. A more gentle cleaning of the windows today
as the window cleaner was here the other day so the inner " film " was noticeable.
Expecting a parcel today so must listen out for that. I did my local shopping yesterday so no need to go out either. I made myself a mixture of melon, strawberry and peach after my mixed grill and it was so refreshing, so it's the same today while it's still fresh. I don't mind having the same meal two days on the run---better than having waste.
Best wishes to the Birthday girls, the G,G's xx

Good to hear that Mick's itinerary is coming along nicely for his break. I always connect Harrogate with their beautiful floral displays which I remember vividly and Betty's cafe.
Wishing everyone a good day with better news on the Gillybob front. Stay safe one and all with thoughts to absent friends xx.
Good morning from the NE coast where we have another dull start to the day . There was a beautiful (promising) sun rise earlier .
Had one of the worst days on record yesterday with a 2 hour telephone call with HMRC who apparently can get blood out of a stone and a pound or two of flesh as well it seems .
Horrible people doing the job they were obviously born to do .
Dreading even more going into “that place” today as beginning to see that there is little point in trying .
I really shouldn’t have had those 3 glasses of wine last night as I had little sleep and now just feel so low and even more miserable than ever. It will be hard putting on a positive front when I walk in .
I will be doing my dads usual big shop later.
Happy birthday To our lovely friends Gingter and GrannyGravy I hope you both have a special day
Thinking of our missing friends too.
I hope Wednesday is kind . Love Gillybob xx
Good Morning from a very dull Black Country.
Had a lovely 2 hour video call with 2 friends yesterday. One lives in Shropshire the other Lincolnshire. It was last November when we all got together 'in the flesh'.
Zoom call with a financial advisor this morning. Then this afternoon, who knows? Maybe read one of the many books I have lined up.
Wishing Gingster and Grannygravy a very happy birthday.
