Good Morning Everyone,
Looks like another warm day here in Brackley .
Quiet day today ,apart from maybe an electrician checking wiring maybe today .
Yesterday visiting Buckingham , getting busy n the bus as well as in the town itself .
Got a reply as to Harrogate as to pub I had intended to have a Sunday roast in, closed for a refurbishment , so looks like the hotel on Sunday evening ,slowly working out a itinerary for my short stay .
Take Care ,
Mick

Happy Birthday wishes to grannygravy ??? and Ginster ???

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s a dull sky out there this morning.

I hope you had a lovely day at the coast Marydoll. I know to see the sea cheers me up.

I had an email yesterday to say I could pick up my book I ordered back in January from the library. It’s The Salt Path that I saw on here. I have to book a slot to be able to get it. Another new normal.

Have a good day all whatever you do ?

Good morning Mick and all followers. It’s been a warm night in Worcs and we have a nice day forecast. I awoke early to the screeching of seagulls. There seems to be a colony around here although our house is in a suburban area. They are large and so noisy!

Yesterday a despondent DD told us she had ordered online, and paid in full, for a desk. She’s been managing to work on her kitchen table but decided to spend on a desk. Well it seems the online company could be a “scam” or as I’d call it “scum” bogus company that doesn’t exist. She’s lodged a dispute with her credit card fraud dept. which was already aware of said company as they have received many similar complaints since May.

Today I’ll be baking as our cake tin is empty and my sister is visiting later. I have all ingredients and a nice recipe for a blueberry and pecan nut muffin cake.

I hope all with pain and discomfort, worries and wobbles have an easier day. To all who are venturing out, meeting family and friends - Take care.
Happy holidays to all who are away. ?

Picking up a friend for coffee and a mooch around another market today (DH has declined the offer....). Hope Gillybob has some good news after her trying time with officialdom yesterday and glad to see Hattie looking well after her expensive awaydays, Maw!

Stay safe everyone x

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire.
Happy Birthday to both the ‘G’s’ hope you both have lovely a day.
Another work day for me at the factory and unfortunately I had my shift at the children’s home cancelled for Friday, never mind.
As it looks like a nice day today I will take a walk at lunchtime to the shop where the counter is and donate all my jar of change, I love watching it get counted!! (Simple pleasures?)
Planning lots of walks this weekend as a friend of ours is getting keen and I love walking and showing people interesting places where I live. I may show them my geocaching skills!!! Just trying to talk DH in to letting them stay the weekend but he is unsure. Not sure if trey is because of COVID or that he is not keen on my freinds?
DDiL is coming to collect loads of boxes for their house move I have put them in the shed as we are out and about from the factory with deliveries etc..
Mick you sound very organised for your break, I am like that, I need to know what’s planned. I could never do a mystery tour!
I have been rambling on and I will be way down the list of posts now, that makes me look like I am not reading them!
Happy Wednesday folks take care of yourselves and each other❤️

Very late good morning from bright E Kent.
I overslept this morning having been awake much of the night.
Happy birthday to the birthday girls.
It was my SiL’s birthday yesterday and .DD text me for my recipe for chocolate fudge icing. I replied that I put a lot of icing sugar in a bowl some butter, some cocoa a bit of milk and microwaved it before whisking. I relented later and found the recipe somewhere.
The AEC called and I re-enrolled for my advanced Spanish classes. Keeps the old dementia at bay.
Washing and supermarket today. I really know how to enjoy myself!
Trust that today will be kind and gentle to those in need. Stay safe. X

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun’s up but we do have a few greyish clouds. Yesterday’s thunder amounted to a few fat drops of rain for 10 minutes then the sun came out and we had a hot, sunny afternoon. Sensibly we were under a huge parasol on the bar terrace yesterday.

So - beach today or not? We shall see later. No rush as it only takes us 15 minutes to walk down there should we decide it’s a ‘yes’!

Many happy returns of the day to GG13 and Gingster.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from an overcast NE.
It is not going to be outdoor weather today so might finish my novel.
DD has arrived in Germany to spend her holiday with her aunt, I can relax knowing that she has company.
Will have a think about a click and collect order, fridge is fairly empty but store cupboards are full.
Happy birthday to grannygravy and Ginster.

Good morning to everyone from south Cornwall. A hot day on the way I think. Scentia your mention of mystery tours reminded me of a couple who, while on a coach holiday in this country, booked a mystery day trip, and it took them back to their own home town! Have the best day you can, everyone, and happy birthday to the ladies I don't yet know!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Jul-20 07:26:29

Good morning Muck and all

Happy Birthday Gingster ????

Thank you all for my Birthday wishes, not sure what the day will bring other than GrandpaGravy has booked a local restaurant for an early dinner (6.30 in between the busy times) for the two of us. No big family meal as usual but so far we are all safe and well which is the best gift I could have ?

It is warm already the sky is blue, breakfast in the garden maybe?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Jul-20 07:27:44

Oops sorry Mick not Muck ?

Urmstongran Wed 22-Jul-20 07:28:31

Morning all from North Leicestershire where it is spitting with rain.

Happy birthday to our birthday girls. Have the best day you can!

We did more roof clearing yesterday and now have an appointment at the dump on Friday so I think dh and I will feel better having got rid of all DS's stuff. Thank you for your kind thoughts yesterday - they did help.

DS1 is coming for a meal tonight and to watch the final league game which will decide who Forest meet in the playoffs! [yawn]

My last session of the Alzheimer's carers course today and we start another in 3 weeks.

Have a lovely day and stay safe!

Urmstongran Wed 22-Jul-20 07:36:38

When did ‘the tip’ become ‘the dump’?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Jul-20 07:49:26

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright, sunny start to our corner of Somerset. The car needs to go the the garage, guess we’d better go with it. Will have a walk while the mechanics do whatever mechanics do. Weary and headachey this morning so I suspect little else today other than some ironing. A happy birthday to grannygravy and ginster. Pleased you feel more resilient this morning kitty. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Sar53 Wed 22-Jul-20 07:51:53

Good morning from a bright Essex by the sea. DD2 and 2 of my granddaughters are coming for a visit today, first time I've seen them since February. We are taking a picnic down to the beach and then going on a lovely walk, the girls will bring their scooters. Fish and chips later before they go home. It's a 3 hour round trip so I hope the roads are kind to them.
Happy Birthday to GG13 and Gingster, I hope you both have a wonderful day ???
My visit to the hospital yesterday for a mammogram went well. Everyone in masks , temperature taken and hand sanitizer used. It felt very safe.
Have a lovely day and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and cloudy start to the day. Nothing much planned except I’ve got my long awaited hair appointment later - at last my hair will get back to looking something like normal...
A very Happy Birthday to gingster and grannygravy - have a lovely day!
Hope your DD gets a full refund from her credit card company puzzler what a hassle that I’m sure she could do without
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Good morning all from a wet and grey Glasgow.

Happy birthday to our birthday girls, I hope you have a lovely day. ????

Nothing planned at all today, I'm pretty tired after yesterday's day out. I have a couple of alterations to do, if I can be bothered to brave the depths of the cupboard to get the sewing machine out.

We had a lovely day out to Prestwick on the Ayrshire coast. In the picture you can see the Isle of Arran in the distance.
It touched out to be very busy, mainly with elderly people and grandparents with young children, few of whom, were observing social distancing, which made me quite anxious. It was as if there was no virus.?

However, the local council had put very strict measures in place with the toilets. Areas were were marked off and someone was on the door to check one person in at a time.
The lady behind me in the queue, sans mask, totally ignored the markers and leant over me to hand her bag to her husband.
I never said a word, but my famous teacher look, ( eyes only, above my mask) said it all. She jumped right back immediately. She was actually touching me!? Eighteen weeks of no physical contact and someone could have undone that in a moment.☹️

We had a wee walk past the shop windows and were glad to see everyone was wearing masks to get in, having to sanitize hands at the door.
Much to my annoyance, I was only allowed to window shop, despite noticing some sale bargains in a lovely little boutique!? I did find the boutique online, saw the top from the window, but admitted to myself, I didn't really need it!!! ?

Wishing everyone a pleasant day and thinking of all our absent friends.
I hope you have a better day than yesterday, Gillybob. ?

Greyduster Wed 22-Jul-20 08:10:38

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dull start in South Yorkshire. We didn’t go out yesterday as DH was painting the shed, so we may have a walk today if it stays dry, although we are having a parcel delivered at some point. Fish and chips for tea, for a treat!
Happy Birthday to Gingster and Grannygravy!???☀️.
Have a good safe day, folks.

NannyJan53 Wed 22-Jul-20 08:11:02

Good Morning from a very dull Black Country.

Had a lovely 2 hour video call with 2 friends yesterday. One lives in Shropshire the other Lincolnshire. It was last November when we all got together 'in the flesh'.

Zoom call with a financial advisor this morning. Then this afternoon, who knows? Maybe read one of the many books I have lined up.

Wishing Gingster and Grannygravy a very happy birthday. flowers

gillybob Wed 22-Jul-20 08:16:07

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another dull start to the day . There was a beautiful (promising) sun rise earlier .

Had one of the worst days on record yesterday with a 2 hour telephone call with HMRC who apparently can get blood out of a stone and a pound or two of flesh as well it seems .

Horrible people doing the job they were obviously born to do .

Dreading even more going into “that place” today as beginning to see that there is little point in trying .

I really shouldn’t have had those 3 glasses of wine last night as I had little sleep and now just feel so low and even more miserable than ever. It will be hard putting on a positive front when I walk in .

I will be doing my dads usual big shop later.

Happy birthday To our lovely friends Gingter and GrannyGravy I hope you both have a special day flowers

Thinking of our missing friends too.
I hope Wednesday is kind . Love Gillybob xx

Good Morning All x.
Quite a heavy and dull sky, very still everywhere but it's dry. Can't really tell how the rest of the day will be as it began like this yesterday and the sun came out late afternoon which ended rather pleasantly.

Grass cutters were here yesterday and the smell of mown grass everywhere is wonderful. I can't get enough of it. It was coming through the bedroom window as I drifted off to sleep---better than any sleeping draught.

Then, horror of horrors again, that dratted helicopter and this time it was overhead ! I'm sure they knew I'd gone to bed so decided to be mischievous grin I couldn't hear myself think ! It sounded like a heavy old thing and I had visions of it landing in the garden. The noise would have removed plaque off your teeth.

I'll probably read in tomorrows paper what it was all about, like last weeks debacle---when it was a stolen vehicle.
Needless to say, I soon dropped off and probably wouldn't have heard a bomb exploding.

Hoovered past myself yesterday and the difference was clearly visible but I was jiggered. That little hoover lived up to its name, Whirlwind. A more gentle cleaning of the windows today grin as the window cleaner was here the other day so the inner " film " was noticeable.

Expecting a parcel today so must listen out for that. I did my local shopping yesterday so no need to go out either. I made myself a mixture of melon, strawberry and peach after my mixed grill and it was so refreshing, so it's the same today while it's still fresh. I don't mind having the same meal two days on the run---better than having waste.

Best wishes to the Birthday girls, the G,G's xx flowersflowers

Good to hear that Mick's itinerary is coming along nicely for his break. I always connect Harrogate with their beautiful floral displays which I remember vividly and Betty's cafe.

Wishing everyone a good day with better news on the Gillybob front. Stay safe one and all with thoughts to absent friends xx.

Good morning all where it is positively chucking it down in Perthshire. A last minute decision yesterday morning, DH was happy to stay home but I was raring to go as my get up and go was finally found.

The roads were a lot quieter than I expected and I enjoyed a sunny day to drive through the beautiful scenery en route to the But and Ben. Tided up the garden furniture and had a long lunch with my lovely neighbour. Lots of catching up to do over lunch in the sun and a bottle of chilled white. My neighbour brought the wine so it would have been I’ll mannered of me not to accept a glass or two. ?

Later on when I opened the shed I was met by a swarm of wasps then discovered a nest behind the door. A good wack with the garden brush got rid of it and they thankfully disappeared. Great plans to start some much needed gardening scuppered due to such a wet day so a day footering about indoors making the most of an empty. ??

Hope everyone has a pleasant day and best wishes for a more positive, easier day for those who are struggling with troubled times.
