soop I was too embarrassed to look blush grin

Susan If you felt that you'd had enough then you were wise to arrange for the further test to to be carried out next week. I'm hard of hearing. I find it stressful to have to listen to a conversation spoken through a mask.

The sun is shining brightly. I started to do some serious housework but was overcome by the heat. wink Having sat here for some time, I feel refreshed. Maybe I shall complete the tasks that I have skirted over. I know that if I do, I shall feel saintly. Ha!

Please relax if you can. I shall do my best to return to our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

GrannyGravy,I can’t believe your little grandson is seven months old.I’m sure this time next week the rocking will have changed to crawling!

Matilda and grandpa are playing football in the garden so I am having five minutes to myself?soop I think Henry is going to be turbo charged like Torben?

I went to the opticians this morning. My sight test went well but I have to go back next week for a field vision test. They could have done it today but I had had enough.Felt a right wimp but the combination of wearing my mask, the close proximity of the optician and the heat in the shop and I needed to escape?

Grandmabatty, glad your neck is feeling better ?

I was catching up on GN by looking at the “I’m on” Link and was shocked to see the first part of a post by soop,

Charleygirl your remark regarding GranyGravy’s lovely wee

I was really intrigued to find out what was so lovely about GG’s wee. Sorry blush grin.

P.s. your grandson is just revving up. ?

soop Fri 21-Aug-20 13:44:23

Charleyg Your remark regarding GrannyGravy's lovely wee grandson made me laugh. A truer comment cannot be made.

Grandmabatty Freshly baked bread is one of many things that I'm unable to resist. I shall thickly spread with real butter and Marmite. Again...I wish. wink

Charleygirl5 Fri 21-Aug-20 13:30:11

GrannyGravy at least if that young man only rocks you have the remainder of this week to feel you can leave the room for 30 seconds without him causing havoc. His pose is determined- watch out!

I have mislaid my Waitrose store card- applied for a replacement online and would you believe it I did not know the card's long number. How stupid but one is coming next week. I do not know why I bother because they stopped the free coffee yonks ago, not that one could get a glass of water there now.

Grandmabatty Fri 21-Aug-20 13:29:04

grannygravy he is gorgeous and will be very mobile before long! Soop you can have half a loaf, the rest is gone. I can't resist homemade bread. Today I'm having a lazy day and doing very little. My neck feels a bit better so maybe a day doing nothing will fix it. It's very grey here and showery so I have no inclination to go out. I had been thinking of baking as I had the urge earlier but it'll keep til tomorrow.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 21-Aug-20 13:20:33

I have bought virtual flowers for you all x

The other photo is of our seven month old GS who has found the crawling position but just rocks backwards and forwards not getting anywhere ?

I am off to shower after the gym this morning.

Wishing a speedy recovery to all poorly kitcheners Fennel you need Jacky O type sunglasses they are on trend ?

Good afternoon lovely peoples. Sun is shining. The sea is sparkling. All appears well with the world thus far.

Susan It seems an age since we would look after Torben as a wee boy. We loved every moment. Boy, was it a full-on experience. He attempted to climb up the chimney. He would regularly slide under the kitchen table to sample the cat food. From the moment he awoke he was turbo charged. Fantastic memories. I'm very happy to have them stored away in a precious place. You are a very good and loving granny to Matilda and little Henry. flowers

The same can be said of you, Grandmabatty. Caring for a bouncy, climbing baby is indeed a joy - but - with aches and pains lurking, you must take sufficient rest.
My mouth is watering at the prospect of virtual potato and leek soup. I wish...

Charleyg You have a kind neighbour. I can well imagine how delicious the Sri Lankan food was.

Callistimon* MacSporran would be happy to live on real curries. He lived in Leicester for many years and knew every good curry house in the city.

Maw My late Nana used to say that. She thought that it was hilarious. smile

corner I also have a low-heeled pair in the same patterned leather by the same manufacturer...they are the most comfortable shoes in my collection. The fit is perfect.

Grandmabatty Thu 20-Aug-20 21:39:13

Susan54 thank you. I've just had a cuppa and I'm contemplating an early bed.

Susan56 Thu 20-Aug-20 21:35:26

Thank you for the reassurance re the dentist soop.

Love the shoes,very stylish.

Charley,how lovely of your neighbours.

Am lying in bed reading.Matilda has requested that she stays with us until Saturday. She starts full time school in a couple of weeks so making the most of these days but boy am I tired by the time she goes to bed!

Hope you are feeling better after a lie down Grandmabatty and Fennel,I agree with soop that you should take it easy for a couple of days.A fall is a real shock to the system.

galen I'm feeling jealous! I never have a man locked in my loo. Soop these shoes are lovely and very colourful. I'm jealous of them too. I don't fall often and when I do, it's usually very dramatic. Last year I fell coming out of pilates ? so much for it improving balance. I managed to bruise/crack ribs and it was very painful for ages. Today was a day of unexpected things. I walked to the local post office, then made bread. Just as it was rising beautifully, my daughter sent an sos for me to watch my grandson for an hour or do as she was trying to work from home and he's at a particularly bouncy and climbing stage. So that was a thorough joy as I love being with him. Then home and a lie down as I'm struggling with neck and shoulder pain at the moment. Take care and I'll bring more bread to the kitchen tomorrow with homemade leek and potato soup.

Callistemon Thu 20-Aug-20 20:24:01

I remember being invited next door for dinner by our Indian neighbours. DH was so excited to sample one of J's curries because the smell was always wafting over.
She served a French dish because she thought we wouldn't like curry!
It was delicious but it wasn't curry.

Charleygirl5 Thu 20-Aug-20 20:20:06

How is this for jamminess? I was about to raid my freezer for something for my supper when the doorbell rang. It was the daughter of one of my neighbours with a small box of rice and a chicken curry.

I have told her before that normally my food is prepared in advance but tonight I really did not mind! even Tara came for a sniff. It was delicious. They are a Sri Lankan family so the food was genuine.

cornergran Thu 20-Aug-20 19:21:00

As did my East End London parents maw. grin

Good choice of shoes soop, I have a different style, same pattern, always get compliments and so comfortable for my very difficult to please feet.

TOYA. .

MawB2 Thu 20-Aug-20 18:26:01

Soop I don’t like this talk about falls (or indeed anything ) “finishing you off”
My Scottish granny was fond of quoting, if anybody had a cough or a cold,
“It isn’t the cough, that carries you off
It’s the coffin they carry you off in” grin

soop Thu 20-Aug-20 17:35:50

Fennel I'm so sorry that you have done yourself a real mischief. Black eyes apart, you will be feeling all shook up. I recommend that you put your feet up, read a good book and maybe have a glass of cheer later this evening. Works for me almost every time. flowers

Galen That poor man locked in your lavvy. Gary should have a Superman outfit. He is a keeper. Bravo, Gary.

Log off time. I'm looking forward to doing the crossword. MacS is the cryptic champ. I'm not as bright as he is. However, I almost always complete the straightforward version without needing to poke my nose too often into the thesaurus.

Please, all of you dear peoples, continue to take good care of yourselves. I shall return tomorrow. smile moon

Doodle Thu 20-Aug-20 17:33:10

Lovely new shoes soop.?
galen well done for catching him. ? What a spoil sport Gary is for letting him out. Did you pretend it was an accident he got locked in galen ?

Fennel Thu 20-Aug-20 16:26:54

Commiserations to soop and Galen for the falls.
I'm prone to falling too as one leg is longer than the other - I fell in the house last night and banged my nose so woke up this morning to find 2 black eyes. I look like one of those small furry animals who have black rings around their eyes.
I hardly dare go out - unless maybe wearing a mask and dark glasses.

Galen Thu 20-Aug-20 16:18:21

Quite!

Charleygirl5 Thu 20-Aug-20 16:08:55

You were very fortunate Gary was around Galen.

Galen Thu 20-Aug-20 16:04:46

Man came to do my alarm system. He wanted the toilet before he left. The lock on the door refused to cooperate after he finished. Gary to the rescue brandishing screwdriver

Callistemon Thu 20-Aug-20 16:04:35

I understand now soop; yes, my feet are the problem.
