Charleygirl I am so very sorry to hear about your dental cancellation. The last time I had an abscess I would happily have had my head removed. I do feel for you.
Hattie sends thanks for good wishes, she is much more like her normal self if a little fragile. She condescended to let me hand feed her some slivers of boiled chicken and has eaten some rice which I had cooked in the stock from pressure cooking the chicken.
She actually weed this morning too. The vet still doesn’t have the blood results but gave her about half a litre of fluid injected between her shoulder blades. When she came out, she had a little hump which has gradually gone down as she absorbs the fluid. There is obviously a problem which needs investigating but for now, she is looking much more comfortable and happier.
Which means I am too.
TOYA xx
Hello/callgirl. So sorry to hear about Lynne. You both know it’s for the best but that doesn’t make it any easier on either of you. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. Glad to hear she has eaten a little.
soop you may well be to old for street corners but from your days in the Argy, I bet you’d have made a mint.
Sorry about the expensive bills. That’s a pain.
I see you have a disco Meeses soop. As Grandmafrench says, I am skilled in this area. I will round them up and take them to the Argy where they can entertain the Punters on Friday night.
Maw I didn’t know Hattie was I’ll. Hope she’s on the mend soon.
charleygirl hope you get the painful tooth removed soon.
TOYA ?
Good news about Hattie Maw
Thanks, everybody. I did not want to ring the dental surgery today in case the dentist was still there ringing other folk like myself because she probably had the week booked up. Surely they must have a plan B in case any of them become ill or have an accident. All I can do is ask and keep taking the tablets.
I am pleased to hear that Hattie is feeling better. She probably needs somebody next to her cuddling her and I would be happy to hand feed her. We could easily snooze away the day together.

CharleyG, sorry to hear that you`re in such pain, I hope something can be done very soon.
Pleased to read better news of the lovely Hattie.
Soop, those sunset pics get better and better. Can we swap houses please?
Susan, I hope that all goes to plan at the funeral tomorrow, such a pity you couldn`t attend.
Unless my youngest son has been to see Lynne today, she won`t have had any visitors, and it`s doubtful, as he isn`t very family orientated. I can`t expect my 2 daughters to keep taking me, 25 miles each way is a bit much after working all day. Hopefully I`ll be able to go tomorrow.
TOYA!
Evening all! I would hope most of you are tucked up in bed by now, even if you are listening to disco dancing meece!
I have started on the ironing pile today and done another three loads of washing - we have very few clean clothes at the moment.
Another warm day, not helped by the heating engineer leaving the downstairs heating on ?. A new controller is needed. We are smug at having diagnosed the fault ourselves, even if it took most of last winter!
I hope that everyone is feeling better/ happier and less depressed about the state of the world. I have never known a time like this.
Sleep well.
Maw If you feel that Hattie is more comfortable, that is a bonus. We all fret so much when our beloved animals are unwell. Even now, we talk about Rory's mishaps and the worry of awaiting the vet's report. We haven't stopped loving that wonderful cat.
Hellogirl1 For you not to be able to visit Lynne is even harder. We all need a teleporter thingy.
Nannytopsy Shall we all continue to do our best to buoy each others spirits? Onwards and all that...
Doodle Not only do we have disco dancing mees, we now have five pheasants stopping by for take-away breakfast. MacS confessed that he's scattered extra birdseed on their behalf. A photo will follow.
Charleyg
Susan Any news worth celebrating, is welcomed by us all.
Photo of all five is blurry. However, there they are.
soop they know how to look after themselves as each is fairly plump. I cannot see them surviving for long there because of the foxes in the forest.
I have been waiting for hours to see if another dentist could fit me in hopefully this week rather than waiting until the 24th. I know it is only next week but to me, it could be a million miles. The only bonus is I must be losing weight.
Toby looks so content.

Hello all. It is roasting here! A big change from this morning which was wet. We have nice blue skies. Kittylester you definitely need a new oven! ☺ Soop Toby is gorgeous. I'm resting as the boy has gone home. He is a powerhouse! I just made a horrible discovery. My household bin is crawling with maggots. I'm assuming the dirty nappies have attracted flies, although they're wrapped up in bags. And the heat the last couple of days has hatched them. Yuck. Fortunately the bucket is emptied this week and cleaned. Now dgs is away home, I'm going to spray with bleach. I'm waiting for the plumber too as I have a slight leak under the washing machine. He should have been here earlier but hasn't turned up yet. Oh joy.
Soop they're beautiful. Sooooo decorative on your lawn. (Not quite in dear little Toby's league, of course.). Before you know it, he's going to be charging around your lawn. Let's use this thought as part of our new onwards and upwards moods...
Another gorgeous day here. Very hot again and very blue but DH bravely cut the lawn and took a ton of stuff to the Dump (Déchetterie here in France...I prefer 'dump' because that's what you do!). We received not one but two fabulous parcels from the UK. Like 25 December it was and almost made up for not being able to go/not being bothered to go proper shopping. There were some wonderful things we were waiting for, new brushes and frog tape and Annie Sloan chalk paint and glaze. And the other parcel, exciting new baking tins from that wonderful kitchen company in the Lakes and, ta dah!!!! a new ironing board cover which I badly needed and haven't been able to find. The little things that cheer now, eh? Finally, a nice large loaf of bread has been baked and as soon as it's cool, we'll need to partake of a slice to check quality control, etc., Heated the kitchen up a bit but that was to be expected - unlike your little surprise, Nannytopsy. Don't you just wonder about people sometimes!
Hope your day hasn't been too sad, Susan and you'll both raise a glass to him this evening. Doodle so good of you to offer to escort the Mees gang to The Argy where they can disco themselves to a standstill if necessary. Looks like soop will have enough to do catering for The Fezzant Family now in residence.
Not sure what to say about your dental dramas Charleygirl. Well, I am. But it's quite rude, so won't air my feelings here. I feel so bad for you, and shall keep everything crossed that you'll get something (a real commitment) earlier.
Great news about little Hattie, Maw. They usually come good with hand-fed chicken slivers and rice, I find. Hope you didn't forget a little linen napkin and a nice porcelain plate. Girls like that have standards, even if they're a bit poorly.....
Hope you get to see your DD, callgirl. Or speak to her, maybe? Sure she'd understand - however much she must look forward to seeing familiar faces - these are really tricky times and you do need to take care of yourself as well. A 50 mile round trip is quite a mission even if you're fully fit.
Sending you all good wishes and also to Cherry, Panache and dear Izabella if you're watching.
Ciao for now from French France.
Grandmabatty Happy bleaching! I've a spray containing Milton solution which I enjoy squirting hither and thither (when needs be). When in the early sixties I used to soak terry toweling and muslin napkins in a bucket, I always used Milton. Didn't own a washing machine. Was thankful to have a spin-drier. Those were the days.
Charleyg Please may you be granted a dental appointment very soon.
Grandmafrench I'm standing at the front of the queue to taste-test the oven fresh bread.
It's true that small things do delight us at this testing time. I also have a new ironing board cover. It is rainbow patterned and I'm really rather proud of it.
A little more gardening accomplished. It is very warm in the sunshine. Needed a shower when I returned indoors. Middle son phoned as I was about to sweep the debris. Sat outside on the garden seat and blethered for thirty delightful minutes.
Macsporran has motored away with a humanely trapped mees. He's taken it about two miles along the road to a delightful sheltered location. He's such a good, kind man.
Farewell until tomorrow, dear friends.

Toby is one GORGEOUS little man! I want to cuddle him.
No visiting available today, so Dawn took me to Lincoln to seek out a new settee. Found one, but I`m exhausted now from trudging round furniture showrooms, was very disappointed at DFS, but happily successful at SCS.
Sorry you`ve had no joy yet CharleyG, I hope you`re not in too much pain.
Susan, I hope your day was peaceful and calm. We heard this morning that my BIL in Lancashire died yesterday, but alas we won`t be allowed at the funeral, they have a large family already, so definitely non room for anyone from away.
Condolences Hellogirl - there is so much sadness around.
I hope Lynne is getting some strength back - healing burns up a lot of calories and it sounds as if she has none to spare.
I hope she can be moved to somewhere more convenient for you for visiting but resist the temptation to bring her home too soon - it could be disastrous for both of you.

He is indeed Soop but I wonder who will be back first?
? .
LOL!!
I am late again! Glad to hear that Hattie seems ok and wish we could provide a taxi service for Hellocallgirl.
It was very warm today - we don’t need a thermometer but can use the amount of swelling on my feet to accurately predict temperature!
Sitting with a lunchtime sandwich, we heard a bang from the kitchen. We thought something had fallen over but a little later discovered a large double glazed panel to the side of the patio doors had shattered. Luckily it’s safety glass and stayed together but creaking scarily. Emergency glazier came out, measured up and then put film over it to stop it collapsing all over the kitchen. Thank goodness for insurance!
Enough excitement for one day. School run tomorrow means we leave home just before 7 so night night xx
Secondary schools here have been up and running for days but the primary schools open tomorrow. One young man is going for a week! I have a feeling I was at school for marginally longer than a week, hating the vast majority of it.
A good job you were at home to be able to get the fallen panel fixed so speedily Nannytopsy. A friend of mine in Scotland spends a fortune on insurance- if she bought a radio she would be paying extra insurance for that to give you an idea. They spend a fortune on extras and when one thinks of every electrical kitchen item and then computer stuff. Fortunately, she can afford it because she does not bat an eyelid.
I have an appointment with another dentist at 12 midday today. I was told I had never met this dentist- I am beyond caring and was almost ready for the cleaner at the dentist to sort out my problems.
TOYA
Thank you callgirl and condolences on the death of your brother in law.We were able to join the funeral online so hopefully this will be an option for you.
Charley,so pleased you have a dental appointment.
Nannytopsy.as Charley says lucky you were home and able to get things sorted so quickly.
Oof! That was a sticky night here last night!
Am I wishing my life away or can I please please long for proper autumn?
Flynn starts school tomorrow - can you believe it! I know that’s such a cliché but many of you have kindly followed his progress since he was a gleam in his granny’s eye. I saw him in his uniform on Monday on WhatsApp - just adorable - as indeed are all our GC and GGC . Hattie seems more comfortable although her wee is still quite cloudy and dark but not orange (TMI - but I am becoming an expert) I hope my neighbours didn’t call the men in white coats as I followed her round the garden first light with a plastic pot strategically positioned under the derrière!
Today would have been/ IS darling Paw’s birthday. To say I miss him as much as ever is self explanatory. But so much to be grateful for.
Please give your nearest and dearest an extra hug this morning - and for those who can’t, you will know where I am coming from. Take care allxx
Maw ?
Maw Dear Paw will always be in your heart. He is fondly remembered by us lot in the kitchen.
Our Flynn now wears a school uniform! Time was when we all oohed and ahhed over his baby photographs.
Hattie couldn't wish for a more loving home. We continue to hope that she make a full recovery, or at least, have suitable medication to control whatever it is that needs putting to rights.
Hellogirl1 I'm sorry to hear that your brother-in-law as died. Can you "attend" on line as Susan did just recently.
Lynn remains in the best place for the specialised treatment she requires. As I've already said...try to relax and recharge your batteries.
Charleyg You may be home having seen the dentist. I hope so. Please update us.
Maw You may well jest.
Nannytopsy That loud bang will have been scary. We had a glass shelf in the bathroom explode on one occasion. It sounded like a pistol shot.
I'm including a photo of Mila that I'd like to share with you.
