At his 60th birthday lunch Doodle - the Amsterdam one was possibly the year after.

Charleygirl5 Thu 17-Sept-20 21:17:35

Doodle I have to have surgery to remove the bone. I will warn you so that you can close your windows as it is done under LA.

Apparently any tooth root can fracture and unfortunately so easily. Biting something hard, grinding teeth to mention two methods. I learn something every day but I would have preferred to have stayed in blissful ignorance!

Doodle Thu 17-Sept-20 21:00:51

Maw another nice photo of Paw. A slightly younger Paw I think perhaps in this picture, with his usual lovely smile.
My goodness speedy Flynn. Hope he enjoyed his day.
soop that is one of the sweetest photos I have seen of Mila and Toby.
N&G how are you both? Chips for me too please.
Hope your roots aren’t causing you a problem Charleygirl
Sleep well all TOYA ?

soop Thu 17-Sept-20 17:42:57

NanaandGrampy* Don't be daft. You are one of us lot. A stranger you most certainly are not.
Chips! grin Yes please.

Have been doing stuff that you would all disapprove of. Ho hum! Now need a shower and a lovely cup of tea. hmm hmm wink

Back with you again tomorrow. smile moon

Charleygirl5 Thu 17-Sept-20 14:40:22

I do hope another day at school was not so traumatic for Matilda.

Mila loves and is protecting her baby brother- they are gorgeous.

I am not 100% certain but I think only roots of crowns can fracture. I have yet to find out how because I have more crowns!
TOYA

NanaandGrampy Thu 17-Sept-20 14:11:50

Afternoon all,

I’m a stranger here now ? not sure how it happened but suspect everything has slowed down during this lockdown especially me lol

So, enjoying a little catch up. Lots of lovely pictures. Can not believe Flynn is off to school Maw , seems like only yesterday he had just arrived !

I had a lovely afternoon minding young Teddy from over the road as his Mum had an appointment. He’s only 3 months old so we had a lovely time having a cuddle. Made my day.

I am off for a cheeky nap because we’re off to the beach later for chips and to hopefully watch a glorious sunset !

Stay safe everyone x

soop Thu 17-Sept-20 13:33:24

Grandmabatty Thank you for the much appreciated hugs.

Hellogirl1 hmm Rules are rules, and we all hope that they are there for our own good.

Bellanonna grin I agree, Flynn's shoes will looked "lived-in, played-in" well before going home.

Nannytopsy The thought of sausages and homemade crab apple jelly is teasing my taste buds.

anno and Doodle Please don't rat on me. That Galen can be awfully bossy especially when decked out in pearls.

Okay. I own up. I'm about to go into the garden and I shall be busy until tea guzzling time. So there! wink

soop Thu 17-Sept-20 13:22:11

Maw Both photos of your handsome Paw and Oh, so grown-up Flynn, are beautiful. Paw looked very dashing in whichever hat he chose to wear.

Another Mila and Toby photo to add to our kitchen gallery.

Bellanonna Thu 17-Sept-20 11:34:11

Wherever did that time go Maw?
Lovely shiny shoes. I expect they might have been less so at 3 o’clock. Hope he had a lovely first day

Susan56 Thu 17-Sept-20 10:50:17

Maw what a cutie and well done Flynn??

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Sept-20 10:23:11

Oh MawB he's so lovely and cute. I hope school lives up to his excitement.

Charleygirl5 Thu 17-Sept-20 10:12:35

MawB I strongly suspect whoever escorted him to school was more upset! I still cannot believe Flynn is the age he is.

MawB2 Thu 17-Sept-20 09:52:40

Sneaking in one very excited little boy who apparently trotted into school without a backward glance! Another milestone

Nannytopsy Thu 17-Sept-20 07:04:19

Maw this missing hat must have been very difficult. flowers
Very vivid dreams last night - DH & I climbed Everest!
Yesterday I made lovely clear, pink crab apple jelly which I tried out with sausages. I have to say I was pleased with the results. Today it’s finally the marrow chutney.
Have a good day everyone and just mind what you are up to Soop!

MawB2 Thu 17-Sept-20 05:28:05

He always wore a hat, Hellogirl, an “Indiana Jones” one in Autumn/Winter as in this pic taken on a Spring break in Amsterdam and a Panama in summer. It almost became his trademark and he rarely left the house without one.
Partly because he liked them, but mostly because he was very photosensitive and could burn even on a cloudy day! This was aggravated by the drugs he was on after his transplant.
The hall table looked very bare after he died, without his hat “parked” on it.

Hellogirl1 Thu 17-Sept-20 00:12:09

Maw, that`s a lovely pic of Paw. This is meant in a nice way, but was Paw fond of that hat? It`s featured in a few photos!
Soop, beautiful photo of Mila, such a pretty little girl.
On my last 2 visits to Lynne, we were allowed to "share" the hour permitted, and did, but rules must have changed, tonight I came out early for Rena to have the last 10 minutes, but they wouldn`t allow it because she and I don`t live in the same house.
CharleyG, I`m glad that some of your pain has gone, I hope that the fractured root can be soon seen to, you learn something new every day!

annodomini Wed 16-Sept-20 20:03:16

Maw flowers xx
Oh soop. What have you been up to now? If you're not telling us, you must be feeling guilty. hmm
What a sweet photo of Mila. The camera loves her! That is a picture for framing!
Charley, glad you got rid of the troublesome tooth but sorry that the dentist couldn't get the root out. How does a root get fractured? I hope I never find out! With any luck, the max/fax department will pull its socks up and sort out that annoying root.

Doodle Wed 16-Sept-20 19:23:42

charley so glad your tooth is out and the pain is easing. I too have never heard of a fractured root. Hope it doesn’t cause you more problems.
Susan I hope Matilda is ok and settles now,
soop you be careful in that garden or I will set Galen on you. You have been warned, ?
Maw I hope you have some happy memories to get you through today and a peaceful night.
grandmabatty nothing better than a hug. Thank you. ?
TOYA ?

Grandmabatty Wed 16-Sept-20 18:05:44

Just a quick stop in to give ? to all those who need it and hugs to them that want 'em. I've had a reasonable day with no particular highs or lows except my washing machine fiasco. The leak that wasn't. Anyway, take care all you lovely people.

soop Wed 16-Sept-20 17:56:00

corner Bloody Covid! If only us lot could safely teleport ourselves (virus free) to help out with all manner of useful things. I feel in the need to do something that would benefit others. Instead, here I remain until whenever...

Charleyg You must feel thankful that the worst of the tooth pain has been sorted. I am relieved on your behalf. At least something more permanent is planned. I hope that you won't have to wait for too long.

Susan How lovely to hear that Matilda seems to be feeling more confident. It's heartbreaking when a small child goes into school in floods of tears. Gold star, Matilda.

Hello dear Doodle and Bellanonna, we Nanas do enjoy a bit of brag-time. wink

I'm away for today. If I told you what I've been doing in the garden this afternoon you would be angry. However, I did take great care. I managed to achieve something for my efforts. hmm

Until we meet again tomorrow, (((hugs))) of the virtual kind. smile moon

Bellanonna Wed 16-Sept-20 17:12:50

Gorgeous photos soop. You are blessed.

cornergran Wed 16-Sept-20 16:37:09

Good news and not so good then charley, being more comfortable has to be a positive thing. Another positive is as I understand it treatment from a dental hospital is free of charge. It sounds as if you deserve to put your feet up and rest a bit now.

A hug and flowers for you maw, A mixed day for sure with much to remember and much to miss. A very grown up Flynn today, goodness, how did he get old enough for school?

Well done to Matilda. You must be relieved susan, much as we know the beginning school distress will pass its horrid while it’s happening.

We saw our not so Littlest yesterday, how do they grow up so quickly? Always a treat to see him and his Minders, a thoroughly enjoyable few hours.

Today I’m shattered. I reason, just am. Not accomplished a thing really other than planting a few bulbs and listening to our very upset goddaughter who is understandably finding being the sole carer for her Mum too much. I’m frustrated at not being able to offer practical help, too far away.

Apologies, my head will hold not a thing more., TOYA, take care everyone.

Charleygirl5 Wed 16-Sept-20 13:51:27

Mila is a pretty young lady and looks so happy.

Maw I cannot believe Flynn is going to school- is it tomorrow? Hopefully he will enjoy the experience.

The dentist was so pleasant and carefully removed my very wobbly tooth with turned out to be a crown and most of my pain has gone and she has inserted a filling. That is the good part. I have apparently fractured a root- I had no idea that was possible and she is referring me to a Max Fax dept. for surgery. In today's climate God knows when that will be- I may be pushing up daisies but anyway, things are in motion.

Not quite what I wanted to hear!

Doodle Wed 16-Sept-20 13:36:10

Maw flowers dear Paw. Lovely photo.
Flynn going to school. I can’t believe it. Hope he enjoys it.
Lovely Mila and Toby photos soop

Susan56 Wed 16-Sept-20 13:34:08

Mila looks so grown up soop. She seems such a happy little girl.?Toby seems to have grown a lot too?

Hope you are home now Charley and out of pain. Maw,I had just joined gransnet when Flynn was born.I hope he has a good first day at school

As others have said,Paw looks such a lovely man.Thinking of you today?

My good news for today is that after two weeks, Matilda has gone into school without crying/howling?
