Good Morning everyone. Well, you go to the top of the class for effort and motivation, Mick. The times we live in are certainly going to put the brakes on lots of plans and ideas, so really well done you, for getting up, getting out and getting on with a weekend in pastures new - and that you had all planned and organised. So pleased it worked out and you’ve had a much-needed and enjoyable change of scene.
Won’t it be simply fantastic when we can just do stuff - without too much thought and jumping through hoops for security arrangements again? This time last year we went off to the mountains. It was very hot and our area was packed with heat-seeking tourists, so we went off somewhere quiet ... and new. Wonderful. In the autumn, we went to Corsica for a few days, took the dogs, drove and walked through wild forests, stopped in the silence of a Sunday afternoon in a simple little roadside resto., where we were able to eat some wild boar ? and all home grown produce and watch the soaring ? birds and a stream rushing past close to where we sat. Just the thought of doing spontaneous things now is simply too much.....so we hang on, do our bit, take care, wash those masks, try to smile and hope we’ll all come out the other side unscathed. Fingers and toes firmly crossed!!
Yesterday! What a disgusting display of “customer care” you had to experience, gilly. People on this thread were not just sad for what your DH was put through, they were united in outrage at the dismissive way you were dealt with. You might as well have just dropped in off the street on the offchance, eh? When you go back tomorrow, do hope you will catch a glance at name badges, in the hope of identifying the creature who gave you the grief. No need for meaningful looks or any conversation if you do. Let them think you’ve forgotten all about it, so that once DH is safely through this, you can let those in authority know, with all the dates, times, names, detail etc., just what their wretched staff get up to whilst masquerading as belonging to a caring profession! Any help with the letters required....please know you only have to ask ??
puzzler - lots of heat and healing sunbeams being sent to the UK from here, should you have need. Brook and Grandmabatty, persistent rain and small children can certainly pose an indoor problem. We used to organise ‘camps’ - made by using tables and chairs and endless blankets, cushions, toys, etc., Maps were drawn to navigate foreign parts (upstairs). Sometimes laundry baskets were sailing boats and usually picnic food was brought to the tent. Lots of muddles and mayhem but it kept their imaginations running! Picnic and cuddles on the couch with a good children’s film could be arranged when they were running out of energy and often baking and cooking - especially involving salt dough figures and shapes to bake in the oven and take home to hang up! (Have a recipe if stuck). Some kids love housework too. Ours were magic with dusters and a vacuum cleaner. We never sent them up chimneys, but there’s a thought! ?. And when they’ve had a brilliant time and you sit in the wreckage wishing you had a magic wand to clear it all away - well your Very Best Gran badge will still be shining brightly, even if you’re not!!
Do hope that Tuesday goes well. Hope you are feeling stronger, Mary and Cherry and that you have less pain lovebeigecardigans. To anyone with problems, pain, sadness - sending you ???? and kind thoughts from ??Take care, keep safe. Hugs x
