...A ladyshave...
Hi all,
I have very very fine and slow growing hair on my legs and underarms, which up until recently I hacked bits from my legs with tamed with a disposable razor.

I always seemed to cut my legs when shaving (probably because I always seemed to do it in a rush), so yesterday I decided to buy a ladyshave, to see if that would be better, it arrived today and is absolutely amazing!
It took under 5 minutes and there was absolutely no cuts or discomfort! (My mother also came in handy to check the back of my legs for any bits that I missed).

I thought I would share with you all in case someone was looking for something similar. Hope you're all well. X

Sorry, forgot the X

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:08:05

Apparently the batteries are ok, said DH, he said I didn't turn it on properly

I am not that technically confused

MerylStreep

Now we're getting to the exciting stuff: batteries ?
Doesn't get much better than this on a Friday night.

2 AAs if anyone is interested.

It's very old
But not as old as me.

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:10:20

X

Callistamon
They're probably my favourite battery. No others come close do they? ?

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:20:36

I love them and have quite a collection rolling around in a drawer somewhere.

Are they collectable?

Lexisgranny Fri 07-Aug-20 22:20:39

MerylStreep I must make a strong case for 3AAAs, undoubtedly the unsung heroes of the battery world.

Oopsadaisy3 Fri 07-Aug-20 22:24:00

I had a small Lithium battery once, I gave it away , free of charge

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:30:13

shock I can't believe that!

We have rechargeable ones but, quite honestly, they're c**p

Sorry for the rude word.
Although - listen up everyone- I met someone who was a great-greatX? nephew of Thomas Crapper.

Oopsadaisy3 Fri 07-Aug-20 22:32:28

An ex nephew? What did he do to become an ex?

Marydoll Fri 07-Aug-20 22:37:04

You have all forgotten this type. (Other makes are available). There is something strong and sleek about it. wink
Fifty years ago, this type of battery powered my little, yellow, portable radio. Much more interesting than a Ladyshave.
I used to listen to the Top Twenty on it every a Sunday evening. Happy days! Sigh!

MerylStreep Fri 07-Aug-20 22:38:11

Callistamon I would hang onto them for a while. They can only go up in value?

Lexisgranny Now your talking. Truely the un sung hero???

MerylStreep Fri 07-Aug-20 22:45:53

much more interesting than a Lady Shave never!!!
There's more to come I'm sure. ?

Lexisgranny Fri 07-Aug-20 22:46:25

Callistamon I am a little concerned for the welfare of those poor batteries left to roll round in a drawer, particularly when you seem uncertain of the particular drawer they are in. What if you have a battery emergency?.

lemongrove Fri 07-Aug-20 22:51:16

This thread should be reported for assault and battery.....assaulting the eyes and battering the brain.?

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:51:56

Oopsadaisy3

An ex nephew? What did he do to become an ex?

Sorry, that was not Ex, it was a multiplication sign X
You know, maths and all that stuff.

He was a great-great-great-great nephew (or could have been one more or less - or more).

lemongrove Fri 07-Aug-20 22:53:40

Mwah?xxxx

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:54:33

DH is the battery man in this house, Lexisgranny
I just put on the helpless woman act although I am as capable of changing batteries as he is.
It makes him feel better and saves me a job.

lemongrove I don't know whether to grin or groan

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 22:55:45

You're very posh Marydoll
envy

Lexisgranny Fri 07-Aug-20 22:59:51

In that case Callistemon I can rest easy knowing they will be in safe hands.

Callistemon Fri 07-Aug-20 23:03:41

It's a very important job, changing batteries.
And they do get recycled properly.

Now, I must sort out my piebald legs tomorrow. If it's going to be hot it could be a shorts day.

annep1 Fri 07-Aug-20 23:11:18

I am on my second Ladyshave. Used them for years. I use it on my lower face too every few days. I'd hate to be an old lady with a hairy chin.

Chewbacca Fri 07-Aug-20 23:16:59

Thinking of Marydoll's transistor radio battery, did anyone ever test it to see how much life was left in it, by sticking their tongue on the little metal things? Gives a hell of a charge! grin

ElaineI Fri 07-Aug-20 23:35:49

OK so I have always been very hairy but less now thank goodness though seems to extend to eyebrows losing hair too ??? A few years ago was persuaded to get legs waxed and this was so much better (bit painful but so was shaving) and did that once a year for summer. I have Braun shavers on my stream now so not only FB is listening but all cookies cooking!

FlyingHandbag Fri 07-Aug-20 23:51:54

I'm very pleased with it. X
