I too will miss you, and may also leave. Please take care of yourself. Big hug xx

Hi Aldom, I'm back but I had to make a new account. I didn't understand the consent message then my worries were exacerbated by the posts so I left. I then changed my mind and came back. Hugs. Xx

Aldom, No need to worry, FH is back with a new name.

I also went through and slid all to grey so hope it is declining consent to anything!!

Puzzler61 Fri 14-Aug-20 18:10:32

By the side of the questions that were difficult to move the slider bar,
I did it by clicking over the little italic i that was there ,
and that seemed to free it to move so that it went grey.
If yours looks the same of course.

I didn’t consent, which my husband had to sort out, as I couldn’t work out how to do it! I couldn’t get on the site without choosing one option or another, but I thought not consenting was made difficult.

Hello. We're updating this thread with any updates so please keep an eye on it and post your queries there instead of here so we don't miss them.
Yes to those who asked re the grey v blue toggles. Grey is the no consent toggle whereas blue indicates consent.

Lucca Fri 14-Aug-20 17:55:53

I really don’t think they are !!

kircubbin2000 Fri 14-Aug-20 17:53:56

Lucca I think she means they're lefties. No wrong think allowed.

MerylStreep...you are so right!
Gransnet show clearly where their political leanings lie and if you have different attitudes...you're not allowed to express them.

What do you mean ?

Chewbacca Fri 14-Aug-20 17:34:06

I'm just astonished that GNHQ have been able to rush this through, and by their own admission, with no forewarning, as quickly as they did. But they've been unable to provide the facility to highlight posts from OPs or even give us a subsection forum for Feminism and Equality. And that's been months in the making. Still, where there's a will, there's a way I suppose. hmm

BlueSky Fri 14-Aug-20 17:33:37

I think it's a storm in a tea cup! brewconfused

Lucca Fri 14-Aug-20 17:33:31

Sorry I’m lost. Any chance someone can explain ? What’s the thing about “political leanings ?

ExD Fri 14-Aug-20 17:24:37

Can someone explain please? Are we being asked to allow Gsnet to sell our personal details to retailers who will badger us with adverts?
Or something more sinister?
Like MadeinYorkshire I too thought it was the usual cookie permission request!

BlueBelle Fri 14-Aug-20 17:20:42

Thanks Lara, wink

Parsley3 Fri 14-Aug-20 16:46:24

I have looked at the form and turned off all the consents.

LaraGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 14-Aug-20 16:14:16

Believe me Marydoll, we would have preferred to forewarn you too! grin We'll do better next time.
@charleygirl5 - will get back to you soon as we can on that.

Charleygirl5 Fri 14-Aug-20 16:08:30

Elegran that appears to be different from mine. I am rather confused.

Puzzler61 Fri 14-Aug-20 16:07:30

I will miss you FlyingH but may follow your example ......

Elegran Fri 14-Aug-20 16:06:26

If it works the same as similar consent forms on other sites, blue will mean you consent and grey that you don't. Most things you can refuse, but some are needed for a site to function at all.

I am surprised that there are different versions of the consent form. Are you sure there were no options to consent or not to various things? The one I got assumed consent for the essential bits, but gave a choice of optional consent for ads and the traffic analysis ones.

Marydoll Fri 14-Aug-20 16:05:01

Thank you Lara. However, t may have been wiser to warn us in advance, BEFORE posters started panicking.

I still cannot find the settings toggle at the bottom of the Privacy page. I'm on a PC. Can anyone help, please?

Charleygirl5 Fri 14-Aug-20 16:02:44

LaraGransnet is it possible please to start again? Please may we have another look at the form?
