Heating

Mine was on for a couple of nights before the hotter weather kicked in, which our max has been about 25 given that the NW and certainly upwards suffer from more than our fair share of cold weather for most of the year.

To have heat from it having been so cold, even 25 degrees is boiling hot and welcome. Those who've had it really hot will suffer greatly once the temperature drops because it was so hot beyond 30 degrees, you'll feel the cold more.

Marydol my thoughts exactly. Gillybob also mentions the 'non existent summer'. I'm in the south, but there was a short period between the glorious spring weather and the start of the hot, humid summer weather, when it rained for days on end and was very cold too. I remember giving in on a couple of days, from mid afternoon and throughout the evening, and using the central heating.

Posters need to remember that not all us in the UK have been experiencing extremely warm weather.
We haven't really had a summer at all here? and it's quite a legitimate question about having the heating on.
It's really cool here in Glasgow this morning.??, so could I respectfully ask that you all stop rubbing it in about how hot it is and share some of your good weather with up north. ?

Seriously? It's been tropical in Devon. No heating hopefully until October at least.

Where do you live? Until yesterday it has been 34C here and today a cooler 24C. I have the kitchen door wide open trying to get any draught available.

Blimey, you must be joking. The sun hasn't really been out for the last couple of days but it's still humid and sticky here in the East Midlands. I'll put it on when it gets cold. I can't bear to be too hot anyway so this summer has been unbearable at times.

No way, I'm waiting for the air cooler I ordered to arrive. Meanwhile we have fans on 24/7 and the patio doors wide open.

My living room thermometer is showing 24 even with patio door open!!!

Too hot and humid, even with the rain down south. Phew.

I don’t have central heating so when it’s cold enough I use my gas fire which throws out a lovely heat or a hottie bottle and blanket But rarely before October
Are you living somewhere very cold Nandarin like the outer Hebrides although I believe they ve got lovely weather there too be interesting to hear why you ve asked that question

Heavens to Murgatroyd We have fans going almost 24/7 can't even think about heating for ages yet.
Must admit though I like colder weather and can't wait for Autumn.

I’ve not had mine on since Feb in an attempt to reduce my bills. It was a challenge in the first few months when the weather was very cold but I soon got used to it. I use my trusted fleece throw in the evenings.

Definitely not. I haven’t started wearing a cardigan yet.
