Good morning from a dull and damp Black Country.
Lovely lunch out yesterday with Mum, Aunt and cousin. Were only allowed to stay 2 hours, which just flew by. Carried on the conversation in the car park for half an hour!
No plans today, but I have a pile of ironing beckoning me. I always save it for when it is raining.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good Morning Tuesday
(54 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but cloudy this morning in Brackley this morning.
A bit more housework , before I go out for a few hours on the buses .
I keep an eye on bus schedules ,and it looks like some routes will return to normal , once the schools go back next month .
Since March so far the year as passed by quite quickly, but if need be I am also better prepared for another lockdown if it gets worse again .
Take Care ,
Mick
gingster I'm watching Christopher Jefferies series for 2nd time too. I'm fascinated by the acting of Jefferies who, as you say was a suspect because he was different.
Ha ha, takes all sorts Marydoll
.
Brook274 thank you for your good wishes. I'm so looking forward to seeing 'my girls' tomorrow. I hear the 11 year old is now 5ft 6ins, taller than me.
I hope you have a brilliant time with your family, it's been a long time coming xx
Good morning Mick and the GM team from a bright east London.
I spent ages searching for a new front for one of the freezer drawers. Our kitchen was fitted 17 years ago, so in electronic terms our freezer is ancient. I eventually ordered one, carefully using the freezer model number etc, it arrived yesterday and you’ve guessed it ... it doesn’t fit ...
Salmon stir fry for supper this evening.
I join with others Susan in sending good thoughts to little Henry. Have a lovely stay with your DD Brook. Hope all goes well for Mr L, Kitty, good wishes to Dragonfly, Bluesapphire and sending best wishes to the Lockdown Gangsters.
Have a good day, all. ?
That is an anxious time for you both kitty. Hoping your DH returns with positive news.
Forgot to wish little Henry good luck for his tests today.
Lovely to hear you are having such a good time in Cambridge brook. Especially the longed for cuddles. The ceanothus arrives tomorrow?
Have a safe journey for a lovely time with your DD sar
Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it looks like it’s going to be another wet one. We are off in our little camper again tomorrow so hope it improves.
A bit of exercise shortly then I think I’ll get the sewing machine out. The last few things I made have either been shorts for DGD or shirts for DH. He likes thin cotton long sleeved shirts with 2 big pockets for his phone and wallet. Lightweight shirts with 2 pockets are not readily available in shops. I think a new blouse is in order. I found some suitable cloth in my stash the other day now I just need to look out pattern.
Hoping that all goes well for little Henry, and that life turns round for someone special in the north east. No names mentioned Gillybob
Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Misty moisty here again.
No no no Urmston that cruel photo is too near the bone truth for comfort. I am trying to walk a bit more but the weather is not conducive....
Hospital appt with DH today after he has his haircut for the first time, apart from me trimming his sideburns.
He's been looking like an 18th century gent. tramp
Good wishes for all who are struggling today and for baby Henry xxx
Morning from a lovely bright South Lanarkshire but I don’t think it’s going to last. Will be thinking of little Henry, Susanand family. This afternoon I’m going to try to catch up with a friend who is struggling with the realisation that that the ‘new normal’ won’t be the old normal. Sometimes it just hits doesn’t it? Hope everyone has a pleasant day.
Good morning Mick and all,
The sun is out in North Cumbria and the birds are singing, pheasants on veg patch predicting a warm morning after a stormy night. The shades of green in the garden after a good watering are amazing. Already collected the Autumn strawberries which have produced early.
Picking flowers for the house while awaiting B.G. to service the C/H boiler.
I wish everyone a happy positive day.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A cloudy but dry start in South Yorkshire. Nothing much planned. If it stays dry we may cut the long shrubbery at the other side of our garden wall where it borders the pavement. It’s mostly pyracantha and was planted as part of the “landscaping” when these houses were built. Pity that no-one thought about how, umpteen years down the line, when it had got completely out of control, some poor beggar would have to risk life and limb cutting it back and clearing up the thorny cuttings. It’s a horrible job. When we bought the house, we asked the vendor whether they were responsible for keeping it tidy. She said no. She lied! Hey ho. First world problems. Liver and bacon for supper?! Kitty I hope Mr Lester is okay??. Have a good day folks.
Good morning from an overcast but dry NE.
SIL has to return to the UK in a few weeks time, his booked flight has been cancelled and he must travel on the train from Brussels.
He will have to quarantine of course.
Flying anywhere at present is like playing Russian roulette and I am very pleased that I am not doing it.
Sending positive vibes for Mr kitty.
GD doesn't get this not socialising thing, she would have liked to go to a posh hotel with lots to do instead of an isolated cottage. I guess she is bored.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
A late good morning from the NE coast where we have a slightly brighter start to the day than the usual.
I had an early start at “that place” or rather “this place” today as I had to take a conference call at 8.00 am Why so early ? I don’t honestly know . I just feel like I’m jumping through more and more hoops, inching closer and closer to the elusive contract, but after this mornings half hour chat I’m not so sure ........ I am going to have a long chat with my main man later and decide what we should do going forward . We have wasted so much time on this one customer .
In other news it’s my sons 40th Birthday today ! 18/08/80 at 8am .
I find it so hard to believe that he’s 40 and looking back to when I was that poor, naive 18 year old child/woman it all seems so bittersweet .
I don’t regret a minute of having him and without him I wouldn’t have my wonderful 3 older grandchildren but boy was it hard.
He’s had his problems over the years, mostly caused by his father who thought he could just swan in and out of his life, if and when it suited. They finally became “friends of sorts” around 12 years ago when he died suddenly and it all went a bit pear shaped again . Anyway thats the past and he seems to be in a really good place at the moment which is all I can hope for .
As always I am thinking about our missing friends especially BlueSapphire and Dragonfly and also of those feeling poorly or under the weather. Hoping for some good news from Susan about little Henry too, poor lamb. I’m so glad your treatment went better than before Marydoll and that you start to feel the benefits really soon.
Have as good a Tuesday as possible everyone .
Love Gillybob xx
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Glad you are thinking ahead Mick.
Sunny here in Suffolk and housework to do. SiL is coming tomorrow for a few days with her old dog plus new puppy so the cat is off to the cattery shortly. The bed needs making, bathrooms to clean etc. I would much rather be gardening now that it is a bit cooler and the ground is nice and moist. Next week ...
Kalu good luck with the ceanothus - I find they like to take over!
DH’s niece has her predicted A level grades now but there isn’t any room left on her course. She is taking an enforced gap year. As DT would day “ it is what it is”.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Say not day!
Morning all, sunny and bright in the SE but rain threatened, once it starts it doesn’t know when to stop!!
Has anyone heard fromRufus 2 ,not posted since Sat, wonder if he has another bout of BBPV I know he needs to rest up if that happens.
Things dodgy in Melbourne but hopefully no news is good news!!
Good Morning All x
Rain all night but there appears to be a bit of a pause with it at the moment, but it's soaking wet out there. Mild though.
Oooo, Loch Fyne kippers. I could just eat a pair. Lovely place too !
I must be extra hungry this morning talking about eating because I used to eat the new runner beans raw straight off the stems, crispy and so tasty. I did used to cook them of course.
Chicken curry today to use up from Sunday so the cats will be hanging around waiting for a few morsels of it.
It really was a superb chicken, corn-fed and lovely and moist. I must tell the butcher. One of those would do me for C/mas, as I've no intention of scrambling around supermarkets.
I'll be thinking of Henry today, Susan, and hoping that everything's alright----such a worry when it's children x
Anyone else with worries or struggling my thoughts are with you. Hope there will be good news on the order front for Gillybob x Gee, I couldn't work up a sweat right now let alone face 9 years of work. What a thought.
Loved your clip of the Glaxo babes Urmston
I was thinking of a tin-opener to get the last one out.
Thinking about Spain it's suddenly started to brighten up here, yippee. Sun's now out, well blow me down.
No sign of any callers/visitors so I'll phone D later. I don't want to appear a pest because I know she's busy.
Starting to do a " present shop " online today. I have to start early because of the big family then everything doesn't fall in one go costing a fortune.
Have a good day all of you and stay safe and well xx
Good morning from a bright north of Scotland where torrential rain is forecast but at least there is enough sun for now to have coffee outside. There is lots to keep me busy in the greenhouse and I shall drop off some offerings to my friend but not yet visit. I too, am ensuring that I have a reasonable store cupboard. I always used to have a huge store, copying my mother and grandmother but decided a couple of years ago that shops were open 24/7 and there was no longer a need to keep so much food in. Have the best day you can.
Good Morning to you all, sun/cloud here in Cambs.,
We got back from Norfolk last night, (on our 52nd wedding anniversary).
We had a good time with our DD & family staying with us (Norfolk coast), from Wednesday to Sunday, although we had a permanent "sea fret" from Thursday, it never cleared, grey sea/skies.! We are right next to the sea there.
The sun came out for a lovely day yesterday, after a big storm on Sunday evening.
Brook, have a lovely time with your family, I'm biased, but Cambs., is great.!
(our DD & family live in the city).
Sar enjoy your family meet-up.
Gillybob, Birthday wishes for your DS,
(our DD was 40 in May, & I was considered a 'geriatric' mother..!!)
Hope things go well for your DH Kittylester.
Also sending good wishes for your DGS Henry, Susan.
Take Care Folks
Good morning from a cloudy Surrey. We got back from our weekend away yesterday. We had a great time even though the weather was a bit urgh to say the least with an almighty thunderstorm just as we were about to leave yesterday!
It was one of those adult only places which meant it was quite peaceful with no kids running around! Food and entertainment was all included and was great and it was only an hour and half drive away so not too stressful a journey.
Loads of washing to do today though and of course the dreaded ironing afterwards!
My information stuff came from the hospital while we were gone so I need to read through that and digest! Now I am waiting for the date of the start of treatment.
Stay safe everyone and hugs for those that need them.
Good morning from rainy Yorkahire, gee whizz, last week we were melting and this week we are freezing hahaha.
Going to take a birthday present to my friend today, we were going to sit in garden but considering it's now throwing it down it looks like I will remain in my car while my friend leans out of the window and we yell at each other.
Then I am going to town to a couple of charity shops, I noticed in their window when I passed other day that everything was £2, so I am going there.
Tonight myself and Mr S are going for a meal at 1 of the chosen restaurants that the government have kindly contributed to the bill .
Enjoy your day everyone, rain or shine
Good Morning Everyone from Southern ??.
Weather synopsis: ??????♀️???
I’m catching up with some weeding and chatting to my ? Geckos.
Lovely to picture all the trips and visits going on today. Good Morning Tuesday ebbs and flows like the sea at present. Long may it last.
Get well, Mr kitty, feel better Marydoll and to all with worries and stress, wishing you some relief very soon. Special brave babba kisses to little Henry, Susan
Loved the Origami adventure, Grandmabatty....... come on, you can’t be good at everything, especially trying to do that on Zoom! Hope that your little GS isn’t unwell.
We had a very short, very sharp and very surprising rainstorm last night as I was going to bed. Interestingly that involved me running around the garden grabbing 4 sofa seat cushions, 4 chair cushions, 2 sofa cushions, and two steamer chair mattresses and 4 ‘waterproof’ (oh, ha ha!) pillows. Each one was nicely sodden. I clutched bundles of them to my T-shirt and bare arms. Just as well it’s so hot! No surprise then that the cats had all trotted in earlier in the evening !!
DH sat up in bed and said, “everything o.k? did you check that I locked the garage?” It was only then that he noticed his Wife was actually steaming......?
Wishing you all the best day. Stay well and upright and positive. But most of all, keep safe.
Hugs ???
Good morning,
It's a very wet morning here in South Yorkshire today. I don't think I will be venturing too far, other than the supermarket later this afternoon.
I will have a rummage in the freezer to see what I can come up with for tonight's dinner - probably chicken, but what to do with it, I'm not sure yet. ?
I hope you all have a decent day, despite the rain for many of us. Take care.
Bright and breezy in Durham but don’t think the weather’s quite made up its mind yet.
Popping in to see DGS before DH’s appointment for chemotherapy at 4pm today. Gone from weekly to monthly now, but he’s very doubtful that it’s doing anything, but going along with it. BF’s DGD’s 11th Birthday today, and I’ve completely forgotten, so a quick trip into WHSmith for a card and voucher as that’s the best I can do this year.
Hope everyone has a decent day today. X
