Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but cloudy this morning in Brackley this morning.
A bit more housework , before I go out for a few hours on the buses .
I keep an eye on bus schedules ,and it looks like some routes will return to normal , once the schools go back next month .
Since March so far the year as passed by quite quickly, but if need be I am also better prepared for another lockdown if it gets worse again .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Bright and cloudy here and a little damp.

Homeworking day for me and I’ve some runner beans from a neighbour for lunch. I haven’t grown any myself for a few years.

Have the best day you can all ?

grandMattie Tue 18-Aug-20 06:30:39

Good morning from bright E Kent. Yet another relentlessly dry, humid and hot day in the pipeline.
mick, I’m glad that you are prepared for another lockdown. DH has decided we’ll have another in the winter, so we are stockpiling dry goods, loo paper etc. Since I don’t consider lockdown rules to have eased much, I’m more cynical.
As for buses, the schedules round here are nonexistent. One sits and waits for the next bus...
Dentist checkup yesterday, it was cheaper than ever before, probably last century prices! Don’t understand.
T’ai chi this morning. I’m so fond of my ladies, it will cheer me up no end.
Hav3 a good day, y’all.

Morning all from a cool patio in Spain where I’m feeling livelier than I did yesterday in spite of it being a late night after the quiz (3rd). Always a better sleep with no alcohol involved!

Hope young Henry’s day goes well Susan56 and Marydoll is managing to slow down (fat chance) I swear ‘Miss’ is busier than every well person I know!

Wish I could parcel some ? for Gillybob (or the magic order) and anyone else who needs it at the moment - stay safe everyone x

Scentia Tue 18-Aug-20 06:43:43

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Wet here and looking like it is in for the day.
I am at home most of the day today working on the computer so after I have done this little job at the factory and delivered it I am off to the shop for supplies to keep me sane whilst staring at a screen for 6 hours!
Take care everyone and stay safe and dry❤️

Susan56 Tue 18-Aug-20 06:44:29

Good morning from Shropshire.

Off to collect DGD as Henry goes into hospital for his tests today.

Have a good day everyone.

Thank you Pantglas.x

Good morning Mick and all from a misty and very still morning in Glasgow. I have been up since 5am and love this quiet time of day before the world wakens up.

I trawled the internet yesterday for an oleander but the reliable sources I looked at were out of stock. I was all set to press buy on one site when at the last minute, I realised it was a faux plant, not what I was looking for. Whilst browsing, a bad idea, I noticed a beautiful dark blue Ceanothus which I couldn’t resist. Heaven only knows where I can plant it as we have gone a bit overboard with new plants this year to keep us busy during lockdown.

All set and ready to discover what delights today may bring and I even may bring myself to do some ironing. Not thrilled at that particular prospect but needs must as I will remind myself doing this least favourite task.

Have a good day all, particularly those of you who are feeling down with worries and struggling.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. We had some spectacular thunder and rain showers yesterday which seem to have cleared the air somewhat.
I have a lot of ironing to get through, I want it all done before I go away tomorrow.
I shall spend time this afternoon packing, I think the weather in the Midlands is going to be variable for the next few days.
DH and I may pop out later for coffee.
I hope little Henry gets on ok today.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe xx

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s warm with a light blue sky and some white clouds around
Thanks to all your wishes for my journey yesterday, the airport experience was fine with lots of additional hygiene measures and social distancing in place, but once boarded the flight it was almost full ☹️ I hadn’t really known what to expect but I didn’t realise it would be as busy as it was! Everyone wearing masks though so hoped that helped a bit .. DD1 picked me up from the airport so all fine from then on and I got the biggest hugs and cuddles from my two DGS when I arrived ?
Not sure what’s on the cards today yet, DGS1 at sports camp this week and DGS2 at nursery so will probably help with the the pick up /collection and pop into the centre of Cambridge later....
Hope all goes well with little Henry today susan
I really love the ceanothus plant kalu we’ve got one against our fence and it flowers brilliant blue every year - I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
Hope everyone has a good day and take care whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Tue 18-Aug-20 07:25:21

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another gorgeous one ?

Windy again in the night! Someone told us yesterday that the Costa del Sol was formerly called the Costa del Viento, ‘the windy coast’, but it was renamed the Sunny Coast by clever marketing men in Madrid in Franco’s day to encourage tourism! The windiest place on the coast is Tarifa where a lot of water sports take place.

Not a lot of people know that - as the late, great Eric Morecambe used to say!
?

Tuesday = my ladies who wine afternoon. Yay! I love this meme ... I’m not sure I didn’t first see it on GN somewhere! We will have much to chat about. My sister’s arrival in Spain at the weekend will be my main contribution to the mix.

I too hope all goes well today for baby Henry.

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. I hope you are wrong about future lockdowns Mick I don’t think the economy can sustain another one. It’s pretty dire out there - M&S have just announced 7,000 job losses over the next 3 months. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Morning all from an overcast but fresh south Cornwall. I'll pop across the road to our town centre market this morning. Interesting plant stall there selling lots of succulents for £1 each. And there are food stalls, though I hate the fish one with live spider crabs, poor things. No 4 year old visiting me today so to the allotment to potter and meet the knitting group outside our community cabin later. Have a good day if you can.

Good morning Mick and all

Like Sar53 bright and sunny here in S E Essex wishing you a safe trip and a lovely time with your DD tomorrow ?‍♀️

We have the five year old and seven month GC today and the five year old is sleeping over. So no resting for us ?

Susan56 I hope all goes well with Henry today.

Thinking of dragonfly , bluesaphire and our other missing friends.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Urmstongran Tue 18-Aug-20 07:34:38

Forgot the meme! And it won’t upload at present (WiFi signal is weak this morning - it must be the wind hehe!).

brook2704 Tue 18-Aug-20 07:35:40

Have a lovely time and safe journey tomorrow sar53 ?

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
We have family dropping in for coffee this morning. Haven't seen them since December so they'll probably stay for lunch.
Must get a shift on and pop to Lidl first.

kittylester Tue 18-Aug-20 07:41:14

Morning all from a drizzly North Leicestershire.

I have a bit of admin to do today and some ironing. I think I'm going to stop putting the ironing in a cupboard - I think it beeeds in the dark. grin

Dh has an 'urgent' hospital appointment today and I will be a bit anxious till he comes back.

Wishing Henry well today.

Urmstongran Tue 18-Aug-20 07:46:17

2nd attempt!

cornergran Tue 18-Aug-20 07:47:02

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp and cloudy corner of Somerset, hope there’s no repeat of yesterday’s storm and torrential rain. Out for breakfast, hooray, first time since February. Then carrying on with clearing and sorting. Hope alls well with Mr Lester Kitty, special thoughts for Henry Susan and of course for you all. Take care everyone, be gentle with yourselves.

Grandmabatty Tue 18-Aug-20 07:47:14

Good morning All. Its very misty here in Polmont and I hope it burns off or the wind picks up. My dgs wasn't his usual cheery self yesterday and looks like he's something brewing. So today might be difficult to keep him happy. I'm afraid to say origami is not a craft /devil's work that I excel in. My seeming inability to fold bits of paper accurately was quite a surprise to me and my aunt who also couldn't master it! We spent a lot of the class plaintively asking, "show us that again please," and cursing every time someone dared to speak in their own home and the zoomy thing switched to them and away from what the tutor was doing. I won't be taking up origami as an art form. I've nothing much planned for today. It'll depend on how my wee Wolverine is feeling. Hopefully we'll get out for a walk later. Have a good day everyone and see you tomorrow.

Gingster Tue 18-Aug-20 07:48:20

Good morning all from a sort of sunny/cloudy Suffolk coast. The family have all gone now and it’s so quiet without them. We cleared up the house, loaded the washing machine and breathed a sigh of relief that all went well.

Did anyone see ‘The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies’ last night. Ive seen it before but thought I’d watch it again. The poor man was hounded just because he was different. We all judge people by the way they look, act and live. It makes you think!

Glad your flight was successful yesterday brook. Have a lovely time with your family.

Beechnut enjoy your runner beans. I love them but they have to be young and tender. A neighbour gave me a big bag of them but sadly they were past their best. Couldn’t eat them. ?

Susan. Hope little Henry is ok after his hospital visit.

gillybob I kept thinking of you yesterday after you said you’d have to be in ‘that place’ for another 9 and half years. That’s so sad?. ?. Hope the sun comes out for you today and enjoy your time with Little Evie buttons. Keep your chin up.

Wishing you all a pleasant, peaceful day ?

Lins1066 Tue 18-Aug-20 07:50:31

Good Morning Mick and all from a damp S Welsh coast.
I have a bit of ironing to do this morning, I don't like to let it build up so that I'm not standing for too long.
Wishing Henry all all the best for today.
Have a good day everyone.

mancgirl Tue 18-Aug-20 08:04:44

Good morning from a rainy Manchester. We have had a run of good weather so not unexpected. Just got used to good days! Mr M and I meeting ds1 for lunch today at a lovely pub. Although Manchester is in lockdown - our area has the lowest number in the area - he is in our bubble. Keep wondering if I will ever get used to the new normal. Love hearing from our Spanish ladies, it does make me miss it but I can imagine I'm there when reading about their days. Tarifa has got to be the windiest place in Spain! Have a good day everyone. flowers for those with cares or worries. Hope the job order comes through Gilly

Urmstongran Tue 18-Aug-20 08:09:24

mancgirl ? hope you can get to your place soon.

I always think of green beans as ‘squeakers’.

Marydoll Tue 18-Aug-20 08:09:51

Good morning all and as Kalu has said it's misty here in Glasgow at the moment. However, we are expecting heavy rain later.☹️

Ever the optimist, I too am expecting another lockdown and every week, I add wee bit more onto the shopping. If we go back into lockdown, it's certain I will have to return to shielding.
Yesterday, we had a new case in a primary school down the road from us, just as I was just beginning to think of venturing out.
We have had no cases here for months, so how did it happen? I'm so glad I'm retired, school is a different place now..

We have sadly cancelled our Rome trip for four weeks time. I'm so disappointed, ( as are the market stallholders, whose profits will drop dramatically ?), but I cannot take the risk.☹️ This would have been our 36th trip!!! I hope it's not our last.

The good news is I had another treatment yesterday and no nightmares for the first time last night!!!
I did feel rotten, but I think I may be getting more used to it.

As the the newly weds ? are on honeymoon in an idyllic cottage on Loch Fyne. ?, we will have to venture to Sainsbury's for essentials. I do mean genuine essentials like bread and milk. ( via the clothes department of course). ?

brook I hope you have a lovely time with your family, you must. Be on cloud nine.
Mellow Yellow, I would love that fish stall!!!! ?

Special hugs for wee Henry, Susan, and her family today. A very worrying time, but a hopefully a step forwards towards getting the right treatment for him. ?

Have as best the day you can everyone and as always, thinking of all our friends who are struggling. ?
