Yes I saw it on the news earlier. I remember him in Chariots of Fire. A gentlemanly man. Sad.

I absolutely adored him in The Flame Trees of Thika (who else remembers that?) as the passionate lover of Lettice, who was married to boring, pompous old Hereward.
