Yes it was a Koala one I got for DGS. There was an offer on. He loves the fluffy 'teddy bear' side but in the hotter weather he uses the silky side.

I love my weighted blanket. I read a review on weighted blankets about this time last year and the Koala brand came out on top for a variety of reasons, so I looked carefully at it, and also at others. Reasearched weighted blankets in general, and eventually bought the Koala, and could not be happier with it.

I sleep much better, I really look forward to getting underneath it each night. I use a top sheet with the weighted blanket on top as it's easier to change the sheet every week than the removable blanket cover.

I wouldn't swap it. Mine was on special offer from Koala at the time.

I've always liked the weight of blankets on my bed. Presently I've got a merino wool cover and a feather quilt with a Diane Cowpe candlewick covering it all grin Sleep like a log.

I got mine from Costco for something around £50. I love it, and whilst it would take a general anaesthetic to get me to sleep most nights, I do feel relaxed and rested lying under it.

You need one each if your partner wants one - they are not recommended as sharing blankets, so think about this when deciding the size. I think the double ones are really for people sleeping in a double bed alone.

When I got mine, Costco only had one size and weight in stock, although that may have changed as it was a while ago. I can't remember what the weight is, but I think it came in at slightly under 10% of my weight, and it is fine - I definitely wouldn't go heavier than you should. Mine is on the double bed where I go when my husband snores (ie most nights!) and it nearly covers the top of the bed, but when I am under it, so I'd guess at about 48" width, and 72" or so in length.

I can recommend the Costco one - it is much cheaper than a lot of them, comes with a removable cover that is washable and has one velvety side and one cotton side. The blanket has ties and the cover loops, so you can fix it in place to stop it bunching inside the cover. The brand is Kirkland, their own brand, which is always good quality.

I bought this one last year and love it . My sleep has dramatically improved with it . Previously I would wake every 60-90 minutes and often sleep for 4/5 hours in total . I now only wake once usually and frequently sleep 6 to 6.5 hours a night

You need to get one approximately 10% of your body weight .

They're certainly worth a try. My friend's autistic daughter sleeps much better with one and my sister finds it helps with restless legs. Let us know how you get on.

My DGS has one and it's transformed his sleep pattern. He loves it.

My DGS has one as he has sleep problems. It is really strange how heavy it feels but when it covers you but how light it is! It really helped him. This thread has acted as a reminder. He stopped using using it during the heatwave and has had sleep problems since. Just asked my DD and she said he hadn’t been using it recently so back on it will go!

Google weighted blankets and lots of options appear. Perhaps try one of the cheaper options first to see if they are the answer.

I can’t tell you how much I hate mine. Would gladly give it away if anyone is near Perth

I can’t imagine anything worse! I sleep under a very lightweight but warm duvet. Even heavier duvets make me feel squashed.

I seem to remember there was a discussion on gransnet a while ago about weighted blankets. I'm seriously considering getting one as my constant restless fidgeting wakes me up dozens of times and I wondered if this item may encourage me to lie a bit stiller

Does anyone use one of these blankets? And how do you decide what size to get. OH wouldn't tolerate extra weight so would a single just for me be a solution, or a double on our king size bed.Or even a single?
