Hello from sunny but windy Fife. I've been a bit of a "lurker" on this thread for a few weeks, but I wanted to say how much I enjoy reading your comments every morning and how it reminds me that life is still going on, despite everything!
I enjoy reading Urmstongran’s and Pantglas’s updates from Andalucía, my favourite place which I am missing a lot. September is usually when we go there to visit.
Enjoy your walk at Loch Morlich brook2704, its lovely there. I’ve been watching the beach on the webcam these last few weeks. Maybe you could wave to us all when you get there!
I watched the Baroque Proms last night, have been boning up on ancient instruments this morning.

A late good morning all from a sunny South Notts. I've decided that today is a good hair day - literally. I went to the hairdresser on Wednesday and luckily it's still looking good - trivial, but it matters, doesn't it? A little good news - I found that I've won a £10 gift card (electronic) which I've printed out and fingers crossed it'll work.

I was feeling down in the dumps a few days ago so these little things like a sunny day make me feel better.

Hope all is well with everyone especially those with worries or illness. I'm hoping that Gillybobs has some good news soon about her order, I may have missed it.

Yesterday I had a blinding headache and missed the morning ?. Gone today ☺️
Venturing into Swansea city centre shortly, first time since ?. It'll be interesting to see whether there are many people about. We're popping into the indoor market and I must admit I'm a bit nervous as it's usually very popular. I want to go to the purse and bag stall and there's an interesting clothes stall/shop in there I'd like to visit ?. Main reason for going there, of course, is to buy some lovely faggots for dinner tonight ?

Marydoll, sorry your chilli and especially your tablet didn't turn out well. These things happen sometimes, you did make me laugh though, I hope the builders have strong shovels. Disappointing, but don't beat yourself up over it.

Susan, so sorry to hear that your DH's uncle has died. Sending my condolences ?.

I didn’t know there was a shopping village in Shelton Mallet. I’ve investigated and can see it’s where the Babycham place was. Everyday is a school day ?

Having got DH sorted (have added eye drops four times a day to his other requirements) I am catching up with GN and thinking I ought to do some much needed tidying in the garden if the rain holds off.

A bit deflated by news of three village deaths (none a great surprise owing to age and existing illnesses) and saddened that the funeral each individual deserved won’t be possible. Somehow if feels as if valuable lives are not being properly acknowledged.

Hope we all have a drama-free day.

A bit more wardrobe clearing for me today and I plan leek and bacon casserole for supper, which is one of our autumn/winter favourites.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's a lovely September day on the Angus coast again. It's also DS1's birthday. I can still remember him as a tiny 6lb 1oz scrap when he was born - he's now 53 and 6ft 4! They say you can tell if a puppy is going to grow into big dog by the size of its paws - my tiny scrap of a DS1 had huge hands and feet!! Tai chi on the lawn today so must dash off. Up to now the weather doesn't know what to do with itself. Hope it turns out as it did yesterday with sunshine and a gentle breeze----just the weather for shopping.

Spent all afternoon out and about with neighbour, farm shop and M&S, so fridge and freezer full to the gunnels now and plenty to go at. Probably my second only visit to Aldi as well and was delighted to get a big bunch of small bananas for 49p ! I seemed to have bought quite a lot of bits from there-----all costing £11, amazing.

Pantglas, I loved Andalucia and spent a full day to Ronda among other places there. The view from the top was stunning looking right over the Med. I just loved Spain.

I wouldn't mind some of the warmth from Spain and France to round off the year in readiness to face whatever gets thrown at us for winter.

I'd like also, to wave a wand here to spruce everywhere
Much rather be out and about. Never mind---lucky to be alive !

Marydoll, I'm learning not to drink my tea while reading your posts, it's not the first time it's gone up my nose. Construction indeed. My dad would have called them tram-wreckers as he did with mum's rock cakes.

Hope we hear some noise from Gillybob soon about that longed for order as I'm sure it'll give her the lift that's needed x Too much dragging of feet.

D will have been busy sorting schools out this morning juggling 3 different routes so a possibility of a visit later if her shift at work allows. It seems ages since I saw her, but I just have to sit tight and hope for the best as I know it's not always possible.

Thanks Nortsat, we enjoyed The Proms last night very much, and I admire all the musicians who stood for so long performing. It must have been exhausting, (well I would have been, and I can't play the violin ?.)
Yesterday I succumbed to buying 6 small clematis plants in Aldi. Well, they were only £1.69 each, how could I not?
As DH had a hospital day, I indulged myself, and did 2 shop visits, and a garden centre. Lovely.
We had a plumber visit in the afternoon, and he is going to quote for replacing all our radiators. Gulp!
DH came home much reassured, and so slept better last night.
I should have put the washing machine on, but that can wait for another day.
A great friend is coming this afternoon, so we will no doubt need the tea to lubricate our throats after so much catch up chat.
Sending best wishes to Gillybob, as I haven't seen her posting for a couple of day, but then I may have missed her.
Sorry you had a disaster with the tablet Marydoll, hope the saucepans survived.
Gramaretto, I discovered Waitrose's Lime and Lemon drizzle cake on Wed. Lovely.

I think we are in for a dry sunny South Yorkshire day today so we will walk in the woods (chestnut hunting!) this afternoon and call in on the way back to see GS when he comes home from school, and have coffee in their garden. His first day back at school went well, it seems.
Another thumbs up for Wells, though we haven’t been for some years. The cathedral is just as splendid on the outside as it is on the inside. Have a good safe day, folks.

Good Morning everyone from my South of France garden where the swallows are a’swooping, the skies are blue and I’m feeding and watering my pots.

We were planning on a drive to the mountains this week but have decided to wait until our little Bavarian Mountain hound gets his get-up-and-go back. He loves to race about but these last few months with an undiagnosed Thyroid problem has slowed him down, so we’ll be patient for him.

A picnic feels like an idea today, though. We’ll go inland and avoid people

DH has just left for the supermarket and I’m going to clean the fridge and tidy the freezer before he gets back. That’ll be the boring bit done. Then we can get on with the day.

Good morning All from a grey and blustery Polmont. Marydoll I hate it when things you normally make go wrong like that. It's very annoying. Kittylester my little grandson is just over 18 months and is adorable too. It's a lovely age as they're finding their own way. I'm not sure his mum and dad would say that though! He's very determined. Urmston and Pantsglas and Grandmafrench I really wish I was somewhere warm and sunny, at least for a while. I've always wanted to visit carcassonne but that'll be on hold for a while. I had a long lie this morning and I'm going to potter today. I might make blueberry and lime muffins later. I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning to everyone from a bright but cool south Cornwall. So glad the youngsters are getting back to school - they'll adjust to masks etc. Mine start next week and the week after, a deliberately staggered return. Cornwall will be quieter then, but I have enjoyed the 'silly season', with the town buzzing. Am pinning out a few dozen knitted squares for my granddaughter's birthday fleece, so need to buy more pins today. Wild life I lead! ? A good day to all, where possible.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another day in paradise. The cute parakeets are in the gardens, flying off then circling back to the palm trees.

Cesar the gardener has the irrigation system on - the grass looks pretty lush. We are so lucky to have him as he has the gardens kept beautifully.

I saw a dragonfly yesterday! I haven’t seen one since we were in Florida 20y ago. It looked so pretty, iridescent purple and green in the sunshine. Quite large insects aren’t they? It even cast a shadow on the grass as it helicoptered around for 10 minutes before zooming off. I’m glad I had looked up from my Kindle ha!

I’m reading ‘The Dutch House’ by Ann Pritchett and seriously I can’t put it down!

Our eldest daughter just rang me from Leeds (hence why I’m late). We chatted for almost half an hour! She does make me laugh.

Right, I’m going to peg a bit of laundry out and sit down with a coffee to read all your posts.
