Morning all from inland Andalusia where I’m back in my own bed ? with the chamberpot ☕️!

Had a lovely four days on the coast in a marvellous hotel on the beach - ate out every night at a different place Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese and Italian and swam in the pool and the sea!

Sounds daft to say we needed the break seeing as we’re in Spain anyway but it’s amazing how much cooking, cleaning, chores you do each day and getting away was a treat!

Haven’t caught up with all your bizziness but I know there have been birthdays and anniversaries (Auntie Flo’s typo!) so congrats all - hope you had a lovely day x

For those not so clever, hope today brings something pleasant ? and I look forward to seeing Friday Girl later x

Good morning from an overcast E Kent.
The Pyrenees are lovely, aren’t they, Mick? I remember visiting the western Pyrenees near Biarritz and St. Jean des Monts some years back. It was this time of year, the vine leaves were turning, it was gorgeous.
We had steak for dinner. DH likes his meat incinerated, I like mine just warmed up. I asked DS1 how he like his. “Rare, after all I lived in Argentina for 5 years”. Ok. So when I started to cut the piece of skirt up, it was still mooing! He took one look and told me he like it a bit more cooked... it was very funny!
Nothing on as usual. Got to collect a prescription for a friend who has a foot infection and can’t walk far.
Have a good/kind/gentle day. Stay safe.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It is dry and cloudy with patches of blue.

I’m doing the weekly shop first thing. Afterwards I hope to pick up the latest garden magazine I like then home for more washing and I might even do some ironing.

Have a lovely day all ?

Scentia Fri 04-Sept-20 06:44:16

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. It’s fresh out there this morning. Off to work at the home for a 48hr shift, my favourite two days to work are Friday and Saturday ?
DH Zwift arrived in a timely fashion yesterday and he has already cycled around Central Park in NYC!! He said I have to get my own software if I want a go, ge doesn’t want folks thinking he is struggling keeping up?
Well folks, I must get on, so have a good weekend and stay safe.

Marydoll Fri 04-Sept-20 06:47:07

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's a grey morning here in Glasgow and still quite dark.
A golfing day for DH, so some quiet time for me.

Tesco delivery this morning and not much else. I will probably make some empire biscuits and a sultana cake.

Well, yesterday's tablet making was a total disaster. The first batch stuck to the pan and the second lot started foaming out of the pan, when I was beating it. It was as if someone had added bicarb to it.??
There is now a bidding war by the construction industry for the recipe, it set harder than concrete!?. Not a good idea to eat it, when dental appointments are thin on the ground.
I've been making tablet for over forty years and never had a result like that. ?
The chilli, a family favourite , was also a disaster. Something was missing, but I couldn't figure it out. I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday. ?
I should have taken your advice, Charleygirl and rested!

Yesterday, while pottering about, DH and I could hear a strange noise. We looked everywhere, but couldn't work out what it was. It turned out to be a Whatsapp, video call. It had a very strange ringtone.
It was from one of the Glesca Grannies, who had phoned me in error. An hour and a half later, we were still chatting!!!?
Thank you Jangran, it was so lovely to chat and chat and chat! ?️?️?️?️?️?️?️?️

I hope it stays dry for MOBB on her walk. I have been following her route. Gilly, it's Friday, so enjoy!
Thinking of all our absent friends.?
Have the best day you can, everyone.

Good morning all, dry here, but has rained overnight. Half asleep at the moment, up earlier as GC’s (7 and 13) due at 8, DD working at school, inset day,
I’ll get them out later for a walk later. Meanwhile, Tesco due this afternoon and Friday is pub visit, not with GC’s!!

Have a reasonable day all.

NanKate Fri 04-Sept-20 07:16:26

Morning Mick and All.

I’m in Wells, the smallest city in the U.K. I think, please advise me if I am wrong.

We are going to the Shopping Village in Shepton Mallet today and it will be all down to you Mary if I come out with bags from the One Hundred Star shop?. There are some gardens next door, much more DH’s scene, so a visit there on the cards.

Have a good day folks.

Sar53 Fri 04-Sept-20 07:18:40

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Essex by the sea.
My 3 eldest granddaughters started back at school yesterday and all was well. They were all nervous to start with but happy by the time they got home. The 4 year old gets to meet her teacher today ahead of starting reception next week.
No plans as yet today but I'm sure we will go out somewhere for coffee this morning.
Have a lovely Friday and stay safe everyone xx

Grammaretto Fri 04-Sept-20 07:20:29

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Blue sky peeping through the tree tops. We are promised warm sunny weather next week. sunshine
Sorry about your concrete tablet Marydoll
I'm sure it still tastes good.
My lemon drizzle cake began to sink everytime for no apparent reason.
I baked one every week for our Saturday community cafe for years. I was on automatic pilot so nothing changed . Maybe my baking days are over. confused
We are getting anxious about the rising covid R rate in Scotland.
The last thing poorly DH needs as we have increasing contact with others.
Plans keep changing here.
Have as good a Friday as you can.

brook2704 Fri 04-Sept-20 07:29:36

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey start to the day and still a bit windy.
We didn’t quite make our walk yesterday afternoon but we did do the coffee and cake stop ? , later today though we’re definitely going down the road to Aviemore for a walk around Loch Morlich. It’s one of my favourite places but it’s been so busy over the summer, I hope it’s a bit quieter now...
Your tablet setting harder than concrete and the bidding war by the construction industry did make me laugh markdoll - I hope you have better luck next time and you can work out what went wrong!
So pleased you enjoyed your break at the coast pantglas ?
Have a great day everyone and take care out there ?

cornergran Fri 04-Sept-20 07:30:23

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey-ish corner of Somerset. Rain forecast this morning. Blood test for Mr C and a grocery click and collect for excitement today. Take care everyone, it’s still a strange old world out there.

cornergran Fri 04-Sept-20 07:34:23

Oops. Forgot to say nanKate I think St David’s is officially the smallest city in the U.K. Wells is lovely, you’ve reminded us we’ve not been there for a while, must rectify that. Have you ventured into the Bishops Palace garden? A favourite of ours.

Lins1066 Fri 04-Sept-20 07:39:35

Good Morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Welsh coast. It dried up yesterday afternoon so I put the washing out on my new line, so ironing is on the agenda today. Possibly St David's in Pembrokeshire is the smallest city in the UK NanKate? I'm sure that someone will tell us. Stay safe and have a good day everyone.

Nannytopsy Fri 04-Sept-20 07:42:22

Good morning Mick and all who follow.
Sunshine and cloud in Suffolk today. Yesterday was a housework day and this morning it’s a click and collect. We also want a couple of rolls of turf and will need to lay that when we get back. Most of our clothes have been through the wash and now need ironing so plenty to keep me busy.
DGS went into school in tears yesterday but came out smiling. I hope he is OK today.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Susan56 Fri 04-Sept-20 07:42:25

Good morning from Shropshire.

I had a good day with DD and DGD yesterday. We got mermaid shoes in Clark’s so all was well. She starts in reception today and was starting to feel quite nervous.

We had a phone call yesterday evening to say DH’s uncle had died.He has been ill for a couple of weeks but it was still a shock. He lived with DH family for the first 10 years of DH’s life so they were very close. It is uncertain as to whether we will be able to attend the funeral.

We are going to drive up the coast to Llandudno today stopping at Betws y Coed for lunch.A walk by the sea always makes us feel better.

Have a good day all and hope you are ok gilly?

Thinking of all our absent friends ?

kittylester Fri 04-Sept-20 07:42:43

Morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire where we are having a lazy start after a busy day yesterday.

The wondrous Wolfie was here yesterday with his mummy He is almost 2 and absolutely adorable (well, I would say that!) we had the cooker cleaned, Sainsbury's delivered and we had neighbour's drinks in our garden!

So, not a lot on today thankfully.

Have a good day everyone.

Nannytopsy Fri 04-Sept-20 07:47:04

Susan we are very fond of Snowdonia and always stop off in Betws y Coed. Say hello to it for us! Very fond of Porthmadog too. Perhaps we can go when DH’s legs are a bit better.

Gingster Fri 04-Sept-20 07:58:30

Good morning all . DH off to golf so I have a Marydoll empty.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Went on a short train journey, which was absolutely fine. Had lunch with my two old school pals and chatted away for several hours.

Three GC starting back to school today. Funny day to go back after all this time ?. All looking forward to it though.

My baking is very hit or miss these days Marydoll And Grammaretto. I put it down to the oven ??.

Have a pleasant day everyone ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 04-Sept-20 08:05:26

Good morning Mick and all

Cloudy here in S E Essex but there are blue bits and the sun is peeking through.

Betws y Coed is so pretty, happy memories.

Off to the gym this morning for two classes then home to potter . Out to our local Indian restaurant for dinner this evening.

Happy Friday Gillybob

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

NannyJan53 Fri 04-Sept-20 08:06:44

Good Morning from a cloudy Black Country, after rain first thing yesterday it turned into a lovely sunny day.

My DS's two girls go back to school today. Eldest DGD starts 6th form and youngest starts at the same school in year 7! I messaged her this morning, she says she is really nervous! She is a really outgoing and confident girl so I am sure she will be ok. At least she has her big sister to walk to school.

We love Wells NanKate and usually pay a visit in August when we are down there. They have a lovely Saturday market. I believe it is the smallest city in England. Enjoy your time there.

Sorry about your disasters in the kitchen Marydoll but it happens sometimes that long tried and tested recipes go wrong. It did raise a smile though, the way you described it smile

My sincere condolences to your DH and your family Susan56flowers

Good morning all...a damp start to the day but fingers x'd it will brighten up....went for the paper earlier and saw a large group of high school students at the bus stop...all wearing masks..made my eyes fill up...its a tough time for our youngsters...
Keep safe and keep your spirits up everybody..?

Gelisajams Fri 04-Sept-20 08:21:34

Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay. We are off shortly to the garage. The engine management light came on the other day as we travelled home from the funeral in our camper. Hopefully it’s nothing serious as I really don’t need a big bill at the moment. The camper is 17 years old and an unusual imported vehicle. We take it to a garage which specialises in imported vehicles as most little garages haven’t got a clue about it, and the instruction manual is in Japanese never mind the workshop manual. Parts are actually readily available if you know what you are looking for!
Hoping Friday Girl has posted with some good news when we return and I catch up.
Stay safe everyone and take care ?

Kalu Fri 04-Sept-20 08:40:07

Good morning from a very breezy Glasgow where the sun is out at the moment but I’m not holding my breath for a completely sunny day. I’m not in a particularly sunny mood either as our plans to celebrate DD1’s birthday have been scuppered by semi lockdown.

I had ordered a book for my kindle but for whatever reason, the paperback version arrived, so nice to hold a book again and looking forward to reading Margaret Atwood’s The Testament, follow up to A Handmaids Tale.

No plans for today so just faffing about with whatever comes to mind.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day

grannysyb Fri 04-Sept-20 08:46:12

Grey here today. Had a lovely lunch with my upholstery group yesterday, we all gave money to our host for Crisis last year and in return she cooked us lunch. Wesat under an awning in her lovely garden and the weather was very kind. We are thinking of going to Devon later this month to see DHs daughter so must look for somewhere to stay. Have a good day everyone.
