Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking a grey start over brackley this morning but its dry at the moment.
Usual day bit of a tidy up and hopefully change my ink cartridges today.
Before watching cycling on TV , not tour de France as its a rest day today , but another event in Italy which has also been delayed as its normally held in March.
Take care ,
Mick

Good Morning to you all from a dry, but overcast Cambs.,

Congratulations Urmstongran on your anniversary, flowers

Missing Gillybob,
I did wonder if some other posters are on "away breaks", now that the DGC are back to school.? I know some take trips in their campervans.?
(When we go off to the Norfolk coast to our little "home-from-home", I don't have internet access).

Take Care Folks

Good morning from a cool and very windy north of Scotland. I am all geared up to paint the shed today but will not start unless the wind drops. At least it keeps the midgies away.
Good wishes to urmstongran. nannytopsy. It won’t be loo rolls this time, I’m trying to predict and stock up on my personal essentials such as a particular chocolate, wool and thank goodness for my kindle so no need to worry about reading material.
gillybob We worry about you and miss you.
What a shocker in the US Open When Djokovic was disqualified. He had already hit a ball in temper. Now the competition is wide open and by default (see what I did there) a new champion is on the cards.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all. The Angus coast is grey and cold, and there's a "stiff breeze". Welcome Spice. I hope your lockdown doesn't have to last much longer, but I suppose it's worth it. Happy Anniversary to the Urnstons - and I love the words in the card you found grandMattie - my first chuckle of the day. Like everyone else I'm very concerned for Gillybob and sending ?. Today it's phone calls all the way as I tell everyone about the re-start of tai chi classes. Fun fun fun! So a quick coffee and then off I go. Have a happy day everyone and, as Scentia says - lots of smiles, even if for the moment they're the ones you have to pin in place. ???

I did wonder when I read the posts from Pantglas and Urmstongran, whether they had been celebrating together

Yes it was amusing to hear Pantglas also had one too many too! I just don’t like quizzes....

Happy Anniversary Urmston wine flowers. I hope you have a lovely day together celebrating.

Welcome to the thread Spice always good to hear about life in Australia.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Greyduster Mon 07-Sept-20 08:51:57

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool, grey South Yorkshire. We had a nice walk yesterday but failed to avoid a downpour so were very wet by the time we got home, at which point the sun came out again! Today is a domestics day and cutting more cloth for my rug making. DH has volunteered to sort out two drawers of unruly paperwork. He doesn’t know it yet though.......?.
Welcome Spice101. Happy Anniversary to the Urmstons??. Have a good safe day folks.

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Sept-20 08:49:03

Good a Morning all, my earlier post has disappeared!
Anyway, sunny, chilly S Hants, video call with Wren kitchens later this afternoon, Howdens deign and quote in. Irritable top molar will be ignored in the hopes it packs up niggling.

Have as good a day as you can all x

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It is a beautiful morning here, but with a nip in the air. We love September, with lots of family wedding anniversaries.

Happy Anniversary to the Urmstons.

I did wonder when I read the posts from Pantglas and Urmstongran, whether they had been celebrating together smile
Yesterday afternoon, we had a lovely Afternoon Tea, courtesy of one of our GS's. The weather was kind and we sat in the pretty courtyard of a local hotel.
Today, nothing planned, but maybe another bit of gardening while it is dry. Or maybe not.
Still concerned about the silence from Gillybob, so sending best wishes if she is reading this.
Until reading the post from NannyJan, I had not heard of the Birmingham stabbings, and my heart sank. I had to Google it as DS2 lives in Birmingham and I wondered where and when it had occurred. Such terrible happenings.
Heres hoping we all have a peaceful day.

Good morning Mick and the GM team from an overcast east London.

Congratulations Urmston on your 46th wedding anniversary. Have a lovely day (and a glass of fizz this evening?).
Marydoll, I am sorry that your meds are making you feel so bad. It’s hard going, managing a complex regime of meds, when the side effects are so unpleasant. Try to take things easy and I hope you have a reasonable day, after your injection.?
Welcome Spice101 all the way from Melbourne.
Kitty, I am sorry to hear that there were issues on a thread yesterday. It seems it’s not uncommon at the moment.

We have our grocery delivery this morning and if the weather remains dry. I might do an hour or so in the garden.

Have a good day, all. Good thoughts to Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and of course Gilly. ?

Stilllearning Mon 07-Sept-20 08:29:24

Good morning from a still dull S Lanarkshire, no after school childcare for me today or next Monday due to them being in localised restrictions, I hope we don’t join them as seems to be possible. I spoke to the wee ones yesterday and five year old DGS said one of his teachers was very strict, she says ‘Go back to your seat THIS INSTANT’! ? Rang a few bells.
Also hoping very much that all is well withgillybob

GrannyGravy13 Mon 07-Sept-20 08:26:05

Good morning Mick and all

Lots of whispy clouds in the sky here in S E Essex. Off to the gym this morning (personal training session then Callanetics class) .

Good luck to all GC starting school today, two of my GC return today rather reluctantly.

Happy Anniversary Urmstongran ???

Marydoll flat pack furniture is evil and best to be avoided in all situations.

Welcome spice101 Melbourne is one of our favourite places, I know your lockdown is harsh.

Hoping to hear from our gillybob today.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Good morning all from Derbyshire. Overcast but dry and bright at the moment.

We finally had our hay cut yesterday. Now we'll be on tenterhooks all week until it's baled, hopefully on Thursday. After all the days this summer when we've been told it is going to rain and it didn't, you can be sure it will this week!

Not doing much this morning, but I'll be at the field checking the hay this afternoon and picking out any unwanted docks from the crop.

Although fairly new to the Good Morning threads I'm already getting up in the morning and thinking I need to check if we've heard from Gilly yet, and read the amusing posts from Marydoll and many others. Everyone's concern for those who are not too well at the moment is so nice too.

Have a good day all.

Aaarrgghh It's raining!

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:24:31

What a fantastic card grandMattie! I’d have had to buy half a dozen to distribute.
?

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:22:18

Thank you ladies!

You are very welcome Spice. Your lockdown situation sounds very stressful. So many weeks of it! In the UK the imposed local lockdowns (Boris’ whack-a-mole) seem to last about 3 weeks. No comparison.

Your day out in London sounded great Maw and you’ll feel pleased that you did it.

Gelisajams Mon 07-Sept-20 08:20:02

Happy Anniversary Urmston?

grandMattie Mon 07-Sept-20 08:19:51

Happy anniversary Urms.
Reminds me of a card I saw once “Happy Anniversary to a couple who never once thought of divorce” and inside “murder perhaps, but never divorce “. My sentiments exactly! ?

Scentia Mon 07-Sept-20 08:18:28

Happy Anniversary Urms. Hope you have a lovely day, it is nice to have a partner who still makes you laugh. As I am sure you know, I am an ambassador for ‘smiling’ it is the best medicine.

Sar53 Mon 07-Sept-20 08:16:08

Gingster thanks for your good wishes for my DGD. She is 5 at the beginning of October and was ready for school last year. She is very tall for her age, in clothes for 6/7 or even 7/8, like her older sisters.
Good luck to both of them xx

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Sept-20 08:15:16

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a sunny S Hants, bit chilly too.
Have a video call with Wren kitchens this afternoon after someone came yesterday and measured up. Already have a design and quote from Howdens. I have a niggling top molar which I fear will need to come out, but I’m nursing it along, I detest dentists at the best of times.
Have the best day you can all x

Marydoll Mon 07-Sept-20 08:13:39

Same from me! ???

Pittcity Mon 07-Sept-20 08:12:15

Happy Anniversary Urmstons ??

Marydoll Mon 07-Sept-20 08:11:41

Welcome, Spice!
No- one needs permission to post on here.
Everyone is allowed ? However you do need to go before the getting committee first.?

Take care now and I hope things improve soon.

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:10:49

Xd posts Pantglas. Snap! Norty us.

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:08:35

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where I have a hangover. Oh dear. I shall be glad of my sunglasses today! ?

We had been out for a stroll in the late sunshine at 6pm. A lovely time of day in September. We stopped off at a bar (as you do) and had a couple of drinks then decided to walk back and loop up to La Taperia for food. We sat outside, it was so lovely. We had just ordered a drink and been given a (paper) menu when two friends who we haven’t seen in weeks were walking by. “Would you like to join us for a drink” “ooh lovely if you don’t mind”. We ended up moving to a bigger table on the terrace to accommodate all the tapas dishes we ordered between us and the rest, as they say, is history...

A restful day will be a good idea. Himself has just brought me a cup of tea out here on the balcony and we wished each other ‘happy anniversary’. 46 years of (mostly) wedded bliss. He still makes me laugh as he is very quick witted!
??

Hope Monday is good to us all. I’m glad it’s not my ladies day! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
