Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking a grey start over brackley this morning but its dry at the moment.
Usual day bit of a tidy up and hopefully change my ink cartridges today.
Before watching cycling on TV , not tour de France as its a rest day today , but another event in Italy which has also been delayed as its normally held in March.
Take care ,
Mick

Good morning from a clear EKent. I love this time of year with chilly dawns and warmish days. Also “mists and mellow fruitfulness”.
We had slow cooked pheasant stew last night. My chaps all love game. I can take it or leave it, but with DS 1 who does not have a great variety of meat, or has mostly vegetarian in India in his canteen. DH is aware of his great good luck with me as cook ? so I spoil DS1 instead...
Plugging on with the quilt. In two halves. Today I shall sew them together and finally put the borders on.
Cleaning today too. Hate dusting.
While reading all your posts, my head is full of comments, consolations, compliments, etc., to you all. They have all fallen out of the bag of marbles by the morning. Take it as read.
Have the best day possible. Stay safe.

Good Morning Morningers from Severnside. It’s dry with pink clouds and looks pretty from my window.

I think I will potter today and reward myself with a marinated chicken meal from a recipe given to me by my sister in law.

I hope your friend arrived safely Urm and she will join you and the other ladies for your wine afternoon this week. To do ‘first times after’ can be quite emotional.

Wishing you all the best day whatever you do ?

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, dry corner of Somerset. Disturbed night for me, just one of those things. Mr C continues to sleep soundly. Jealous? Me? What do you think! Some garden clearing on the agenda this morning, a couple of phone calls to friends will fill the afternoon nicely. Does anyone else wonder how they had time to go to work? Take care everyone. Hope the day is as good as it can be.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a very dark Glasgow. I was wakened by the torrential rain during the night.
DH is playing golf, I wonder how long he will manage to stay dry. ?

Yesterday's DIY turned out to be a bit of a disaster, well it would, wouldn't it? ?
Who would have guessed that one chest of drawers would hold so much crap craft materials and cause so much grief.
The spare room bed was covered in stuff, our bed was covered and the landing, as DH had to break down the old chest to get it into his car for the tip.

The conversation went like this:

DH: Could you look up what time the tip closes, this will take ages.

Me : It's time slots, when would you like to go?

DH: What times are available?

Me: You will need to get a move on, the are fast disappearing.

DH: Let me think..... continues to footer.

Me : What's your car reg? You need it to book in advance

DH: My car reg? I don't know. Why on earth would be know his own car reg?

Me ? Stomps off and fishes out his car insurance
The slots are disappearing as I type. You will just need to take what you get.

I lost four time slots, as I typed and had to keep starting again!
After an hour of huffing and puffing, DH started to assemble the new chest, I thought it came ready assembled , there were NO INSTRUCTIONS NOR SCREWS!! ?
Cue one phone call to the supplier. That's for another day.?

Getting to be bed was a bit problematic, to say the least. All the stuff on our bed didn't go into the new chest, which was back in the box. I had to move it in boxes into my craft room out of the way.
Why is nothing easy?. ?

I think today will be a day of rest. I'm shattered.
Oh and it's dreaded injection day. I'm seriously telling my consultant I wish to stop. I feel awful all the time.☹️

Have the best day you can everyone. Hoping to hear from Gilly, it doesn't bode well. She usually says she is having a break and she hasn't responded to my PM.

grandMattie Mon 07-Sept-20 07:03:01

Our tip allows only one drop off per 6 week period. It has to be booked at least a fortnight ahead... goodness knows why.

Nannytopsy Mon 07-Sept-20 07:04:24

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
A lovely Autumn morning in Suffolk. A bit of gardening and a bit of shopping for us today, in preparation for a visitor.
We very much enjoyed lunch with friends yesterday and the lamb was just delicious, even if I do say so myself! It was a nice change to just have simple roast lamb with mint sauce and seasonal veg.
We whatsapped with young friends last night whose income relies on the aeronautics industry, so worrying times.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Nannytopsy Mon 07-Sept-20 07:10:48

Martydoll why is nothing ever easy in your world?? ? Better luck next time you try to get it organised. I have boxes of fabric but good big cupboards!
Seeing the Covid figures this morning makes me think we will all be joining you back in lockdown before the winter is out. Note to self - buy more loo rolls!

Sar53 Mon 07-Sept-20 07:14:34

Good morning all from another sunny day in Essex by the sea. Chilly mornings but warm later.
I have a telephone appointment with a doctor at 10, something I have put off but a little voice keeps telling me that I really need to get it sorted.
A hair cut at lunchtime.
The 4th out of 5 granddaughters starts school today, only afternoons this week but a big day for her and my daughter. It will be the first time in 11 years that she doesn't have a child at home. A few tears will be shed me thinks.
Thinking of all grans with sadness or worries, especially *Gilly.
Have the best Monday you can and stay safe xx

brook2704 Mon 07-Sept-20 07:19:24

Good morning everyone from a dry Inverness with grey clouds and it’s looking quite windy again. Yesterday was another lovely autumn day and I was pottering in the garden again.
How frustrating marydoll - I hope you eventually get your craft supplies all in order and into the new chest of drawers!
I’m with you cornergran I definitely wouldn’t have time for work these days ... the days fly by so quickly but no idea what I’ve been doing really ?
I hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Grandmabatty Mon 07-Sept-20 07:22:13

Good morning All. Grey skies here in Polmont. The year is on the turn. Its darker as well. I'm watching the boy today and he's not well so it's going to be hard work. He has a cold, nothing sinister but I expect I'll get it too. Have a good day all.

kittylester Mon 07-Sept-20 07:26:47

Morning all from a misty North Leicestershire. We had a fabulous pink sky earlier.

A pootling and faffing day for me- phone calls and emails mostly.

We had a very gentle day yesterday and I even had a little doze in the afternoon while watching Friends.

I was very concerned at the turn of events on another thread yesterday and worry about where our moderators were.

Hoping to hear from gilly.

Scentia Mon 07-Sept-20 07:31:34

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. A lilac sky greeted my pooch and I on our walk this morning. I have started to leave the dog at home instead of taking her to work to see if that could be causing her allergies as we have a lot of dust and chemicals in the factory. It is just one of the changes this week, she is also on chicken rice and veg. We will see, I will try anything to avoid having to deal with the worry of paying for tablets.
Had a fabulous weekend at the children’s home and I am back in the factory today.
Gilly if you are reading/lurking I do hope everything is manageable for you.
To everyone, please do smile at least once today and have the best day you can. ☀️?

NannyJan53 Mon 07-Sept-20 07:39:00

Good Morning from a dry Black Country. It is definitely autumnal now in the mornings.

I had my Covid test result texted yesterday. It was negative! I was chosen at random to take it, I didn't have symptoms.

This morning I need to ring the dedicated flu line at my Surgery to book an appointment. They are doing them the first week in October.

Just about to iron a few clothes to pack ready to leave at lunchtime today for the Forest of Dean, then onto Somerset on :Thursday for 4 days.

After the terrible news from Birmingham yesterday, it has just been announced they have arrested someone. Why oh why do people do these things!

Wishing you all a good day, and hoping we hear from gilly

Gingster Mon 07-Sept-20 07:41:12

Good morning all from a lovely autumnal morning in Essex. I too love September, after all the fun and busyness of the summer, it’s a time for winding down and getting back to ‘normal’ (this year not so normal though) .

Yesterday we had DD and children for Sunday dinner. My oven decided to go on strike and fused the whole house. DH managed to get the power back but no oven. I was In the middle of cooking roast chicken, gammon ham and roast potatoes! ?. The top oven was still working so I was able to use that, thank goodness!. Dinner was about an hour late but all was well. Phoning for an oven man today. Hopefully it’s just an element.

Sar hope your little one enjoys school. My youngest Gc is starting today too, afternoons only for 2 weeks. She’s more than ready and has been at the nursery for the last year, so nothing will be strange for her. She’ll be 5 next week , so one of the oldest but she’s so tiny, she’ll be the smallest. ??. Very forceful though and makes her presence known ?.

Good luck to all GC starting back at school. It’s about time and I hope all goes well.

A pleasant day to all. ?

Susan56 Mon 07-Sept-20 07:53:23

Good morning from Shropshire.

A day of admin today, banks and phone calls. My appointment at the eye clinic has been made and cancelled three times since lockdown eased.I am getting slightly stressed about it as I was due for a scan at the beginning of April and am worried when it will happen if there is another lockdown so will call the clinic again today.

DH will carry on with the great garage sort out.Progress is starting to be made!We are lucky in that no appointments are needed for the tip,can just turn up between 9 and 5.

Thinking of you gilly and hoping you and yours are ok.

Have a good day all and hoping our missing good morningers are starting to feel better and will be up to posting soon.

MawB2 Mon 07-Sept-20 07:59:26

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is a bit greyer but I think is due to brighten up.
I really enjoyed my day out yesterday and yes, London was looking a lot quieter. Strolling along the South Bank is always cosmopolitan though and I also enjoyed having lunch on the Tate terrace looking across to St Paul’s.
Trains were deserted and I at no point felt at any risk as everybody, everywhere wore masks and respected distancing.
Exhausting though- life does move at a faster pace than in my sleepy village. Today a friend and I are going to a Garden Centre - I fear ?may feature!
Wishing you all a pleasant day wherever you are.

Spice101 Mon 07-Sept-20 08:06:40

Good morning to all, hope I am allowed to add to this thread.

I should be saying good evening as I am in Melbourne Australia so today has been a lovely mild 23C albeit very windy. It does make a change from the cold days we have had recently.

We are experiencing our second wave of CV in Victoria and mainly in the metropolitan areas of Melbourne and have been in a lockdown for 5 weeks. This was supposed to end next Sunday but the State Government in their wisdom have increased this for at least another two weeks. They will ease some of the restrictions over the next 10 weeks but this will depend on getting the number of new cases per day to less than 5 over a 14 day period. Seems almost an impossibility to me. Meanwhile we plod on with the situation we have.

Have a good day everyone.

Gelisajams Mon 07-Sept-20 08:07:01

Good morning from a wet Morecambe Bay. This means gardening is probably off for today. Will do some exercise then decide what else needs doing.
Take care everyone and stay safe?

Pantglas2 Mon 07-Sept-20 08:07:30

A late good morning all from??☕️ where I celebrated winning at the quiz a little too well ? so a quiet start to the day methinks!

Hope all our absentees are ok - it’s worrying isn’t it if they haven’t said they’re taking a break? Let’s hope it’s technical or in Gillybob case, the new order came!

Some yoga, kefir and a shower will sort me out and will catch up with you all later x

Georgesgran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:08:11

Good morning from a wet Durham. Yesterday was the same but turned into a lovely afternoon and evening. Not sure today will be the same, but hoping.
Burglar Alarm annual service today. Booked between 9 and 1. Last year was a farce with 3 appointments not kept (by them). The price goes up every year and Covid has pushed it back from May to September.

Other than that, nothing planned today. DD brought her laundry yesterday, but no point starting on it, if I can’t get it dried.
I hope everyone has the best day they can today. X

Pittcity Mon 07-Sept-20 08:08:29

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A quiet Monday here. DH is preparing for a fishing trip so I will be alone for the rest of the week...bliss!

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:08:35

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where I have a hangover. Oh dear. I shall be glad of my sunglasses today! ?

We had been out for a stroll in the late sunshine at 6pm. A lovely time of day in September. We stopped off at a bar (as you do) and had a couple of drinks then decided to walk back and loop up to La Taperia for food. We sat outside, it was so lovely. We had just ordered a drink and been given a (paper) menu when two friends who we haven’t seen in weeks were walking by. “Would you like to join us for a drink” “ooh lovely if you don’t mind”. We ended up moving to a bigger table on the terrace to accommodate all the tapas dishes we ordered between us and the rest, as they say, is history...

A restful day will be a good idea. Himself has just brought me a cup of tea out here on the balcony and we wished each other ‘happy anniversary’. 46 years of (mostly) wedded bliss. He still makes me laugh as he is very quick witted!
??

Hope Monday is good to us all. I’m glad it’s not my ladies day! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Urmstongran Mon 07-Sept-20 08:10:49

Xd posts Pantglas. Snap! Norty us.

Marydoll Mon 07-Sept-20 08:11:41
