Good morning all from a greyish day in Glasgow where I can hear the gardener strimming around . At least the grass is getting a haircut around here. I haven’t been to the hairdressers since February! The thought of sitting masked up for 2+hours for cut and colour isn’t top of my to do list and I make do with a messy bun. My hair grows very quickly, now well past my shoulders and GDs had a giggle at yesterday’s FaceTime when Granny appeared in pigtails? I have hairdressing scissors Spice. A pair that I used to trim. GDs long hair and also groom the dog with. DH will be cutting a chunk off my hair before I use the semi permanent hair dye I bought. ??

What an achievement MOMB. Well done. Enjoy your trip home and haste ye back.
At last Marydoll. Pleased to hear your GP has remembered you and got in touch. Hope your visit results in a positive result. Fingers firmly crossed ?
Many congratulations on your wedding anniversary *The Nortsats*? 50 years together is no mean feat. Enjoy your day together.
Huge disappointment for your D and SiL Maw. Whatever you do, don’t go near the stash of cava for a little night cap after the lovely Hattie returns from her very early outing. ?

Hope everyone has a pleasant day. Best wishes to gilly and all our other friends who are facing difficult times.

Good morning all,

It's a lovely morning with blue sky and sunshine at the moment.

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Nortsat ??. Enjoy your special day.

Thank you to all for my birthday wishes. I had a very special day and the mystery lunch was delicious. Covid has put paid to bigger plans but nevertheless, it's been lovely. (We should have been away).

Well, I hope you all have a good day today, keep safe and kind thoughts and a virtual hug to all who are missing from our happy band at the moment or feeling low. ?

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where the sky is rather dull and grey, no rain as yet though.

No great plans for today, may take a run down to the coast to let the pooch have a run in the beach.

I picked up the GC from the school bus yesterday, the sight of all those little children in face masks almost broke my heart.

grannysyb Thu 10-Sept-20 09:09:23

Sitting in the car park waiting for upholstery class to start. It might carry on after this week as it is "educational", we'll see what the community centre think. We have done a risk assessment and I have taken my temperature this morning. Have mask and sanitizer. Hope Marydolls medication tweak works and that Gillybob is OK.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire. I had my second-since-lockdown haircut yesterday. Everything else about me seems to be slowing down except the growth rate of my hair! Today I will wash down the kitchen units and then we have flu jabs this afternoon. Oh joy!
Congratulations Momb on finishing your trek - I’m full of admiration!
If I missed Mapleleaf’s birthday yesterday, many apologies and a belated Happy Birthday to you!??
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Norstat??!
Have a good day folks.

MOMB Glad to hear how your walk went-was thinking of you. Any midges? We’re plagued with mossies here in Staffs.

Anniebach Thu 10-Sept-20 08:53:38

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

MawB2 Thu 10-Sept-20 08:47:30

Good morning all from N Bucks.
This is what comes of being wide awake at 4 am to let the pooch out and unable to get back to sleep for an hour or so.
Woke up again at 20 past 8 !
Lovely crisp morning.
AS (used to be NADFAS) Zoom “webinar” this morning -ie.lecture via Zoom. See how it goes- it’s going to be as good as we get isn’t it? Book group next Thursday now going to be Zoom again as there are 7 of us, even occasionally 8.
Thinking of poor D who has just sent out invites to a “surprise” 40th birthday bash for SIL and the 2 cases of Cava I am storing for her in the garage ?? However needs must and we are all going to be affected. I have resolved not to put anything off any more, so booked an Opticians appointment for next week, will be going online to book my flu jab and I think I’ll have a trip to the hairdresser.
Wishing you all, whatever your circumstances, as pleasant a day as possible.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, but it's supposed to stay dry, so I'm stripping the bed. There is something so satisfying about seeing sheets on the line.

Granny gravy, what a terrible worry for you, I hope they get to the bottom of it this time. Talking of houses, DS2 put his flat up for sale on Friday, he has already had one offer and a note of interest. I'm very surprised at the speed of that. Houses are moving fast here.
He and his fiancèe were going to look at a former church manse here, but before they could even get an appointment to view, my friend's nephew had already bought it.

Unexpectedly yesterday, I got a phone call from a GP at my surgery. I haven't heard from my own GP, since before lockdown and am worrying that all is not well. It's always been another GP who has contacted me.
She thought the hospital were checking my bloods and the hospital thought the surgery were doing it, despite me flagging up the lack of tests.
We have arrange for me to go to the surgery today, when it will be very quiet. Unfortunately, it will be during the afternoon school run and I have to drive to the other side of the next town. I have always tried to avoid that time.☹️
I have decided to drive myself, as I need the practice and my car needs a run.
On a positive note, I asked if we could have a chat about the awful side effects of my injections, as yesterday had been a particularly bad day. She has made some tweaks to my other meds, if that doesn't help she will contact my rheumatologist. So fingers crossed!

MOBB, I was wondering where you were on your journey, we were on a vintage steam train ? from Glasgow to Fort William, last Autumn, the scenery was stunning. Safe journey home!

Just had a phone call from the surgery, my appointment has been changed to an hour's time, need to dash.
Have a good day all!

Hairdresser coming to cut DH’s hair this morning and we have friends from DH’s university days coming for tea so must get him up and sorted out and then make some scones (cake made yesterday). No good doing much baking as I am all too keen to eat the results and I don’t need it.

Am unsurprised but glum about yesterday’s announcement as I have always felt that any kind of normality is months away. I am glad we saw our family in August as that may be the only visit this year. I feel most for the young who are having a very hard time.

kittylester Thu 10-Sept-20 08:19:57

Morning all from a dull North Leicestershire.

We should be having the Wondrous Wolfie today but his sister has a cough so they are waiting to see whether she needs a covid test.

The windows were cleaned outside yesterday - first time since lockdown.

Take care everyone

Pantglas2 Thu 10-Sept-20 08:19:47

Happy anniversary Nortsat ?? and to anyone else with a special day - I do love a celebration ?

Lins1066 Thu 10-Sept-20 08:18:39

Good Morning Mick and all from a partially sunny S a Welsh coast. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Nortsat ?? enjoy your special supper. Laundry to be done this morning and an online shopping delivery coming between 9 and 10am.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe.

grandMattie Thu 10-Sept-20 08:14:53

Happy anniversary Nortsat ??

Grammaretto Thu 10-Sept-20 08:07:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another lovely day here. September is one of my favourite months.
After 2 days of hell (trips to doctor, hospital and nurse) DH is a lot better and well rested (thanks NHS) so we may collect our new battery mower today and give the grass its first and maybe last trim this year! Thanks to advice on here too.
Grannygravy a hole in your sitting room floor sounds drastic. I hope they find the cause and cure quickly.
It reminds me we still have a hole in our ceiling which I must get sorted. The plasterer who came to look said he doesn't do cornices.
Spice your having to relearn to hoover reminds me how many things I rely on others for such as cutting DH's toenails.
Happy to hear you are looking after Henry Susan . He will have fun I'm sure.
Our DGD missed her first class photo due to being taken for a covid test. Another disappointment.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Nortsat Thu 10-Sept-20 08:00:49

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a currently sunny east London.

Spending the afternoon in a friend’s garden, so I hope the good weather continues, but I am taking my Mac with me.

It’s our 6th wedding anniversary today. We have been together for 44 years but got married 6 years ago, after I was ill.
Because I have been shielding, we’re not going out for any celebrations, we still feel the need to be very careful. My partner has bought champagne and a friend has made a cake and family have sent cards. So we’ll have a special supper and raise a glass to toast our lives together.

Thinking of Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and of course gilly
Have a good day all and ? for those facing challenges. ?

Welcome back NfD you’ve been missed!

Morning All

A lovely clear skied morning here in the north of Norfolk.

A pile of ironing awaits as we've just got back from a few days away in our camperbubble. My new phone died on the first day away. A week with virtually no internet! I was bereft!

mumofmadboys Thu 10-Sept-20 07:53:23

Good morning from Fort William. We have finished the West Highland Way and go home to Cumbria on the train today. Fantastic holiday. Will be glad to do very little walking today! Just getting ready for our last hotel breakfast! Beautiful scenery last 8 days. Love Scotland! Have a good day everyone and thinking of those with worries/ illnesses.

Gingster Thu 10-Sept-20 07:50:15

Good morning all from a lovely morning in Essex. It’s been a lovely September so far. Blue skies with not a breath of wind.

Today I’m going to my bowls group. Haven’t played since March and now after yesterday’s announcements, we won’t be able to meet after Monday. Grrrr!

Having my hair done this afternoon. It has gone so light (white) , and long. Last time I went I was persuaded by family and hairdresser not to have it coloured (it’s lovely they said) and only to have a trim. Well it’s driving me mad and I hate it, so today it will be short and tinted.

Still doing DD’s washing. The mans going today to fix her machine ??. She has 4 children - two of whom are 14 yr old twin boys. Well I’ve had their white sports socks in soak all night and they’re still not pristine.

I feel for you grannygravy . How frustrating to have had all that work done to no avail.

My DH needs a haircut too. I’ll get DIL to do it at the weekend. It takes her 5 minutes, it looks great and saves him £10.

Have a pleasant day all. ?

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where I’m aching - feet, calves, hips - as we strolled unto Torremolinos and back yesterday, a round trip of just shy of 10 miles. The sun was shining though and it’s not sweltering like in August, which is why I’m happy to walk there again ?

Planning to just sit in the gardens today, read, have a swim, repeat. Himself is just going across the road to SuperSol now for the 3 of us - our neighbour passes us a list every Wednesday evening.

Hope Thursday is good to us all and that your builders don’t find ‘The Borrowers’ GG13 when they pull up your floorboards! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Jaxjacky Thu 10-Sept-20 07:46:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from S Hants, sun’s out, but chilly though. I had about five inches taken off my hair a few weeks ago, it was driving me mad in the heat and was very happy with it. It needs cut again already! I should have realised this will be a more frequent event, so friend coming next Tuesday for a trim in the garden. Had a recommended man visit yesterday to discuss our will revisions, very good and reasonable £89 for both, a job nearly ticked off the list.
I hope those absent, struggling maybe, have a peaceful day and all of us an enjoyable one. X

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Sept-20 07:41:50

Good morning All. It's bright skies here in Polmont with some cloud. Definitely autumnal and lots of dew on the cars. I'm up fairly early for me to go and pick up and take my grandson to his granddad's house. Not much to do today so I will get on with a cross stitch kit. Have a good day all.
