Spice G'Day! Would you like a second attempt? I'm willing to take a chance and I'm sure you'[[ charge only "Mate's Rates plus GST of course" !?
I'm in Glen Waverley! grin
Yes, it was a beautiful Spring day, another tomorrow, but Mike Larkin reckons Saturday will be a soaker. sad
Will give you more practice time with the vac,!

Haha Rufus, pity about the 5k travel rule - not to mention that one is not allowed to visit other people so I will have to decline your offer of a subject to practice my hairdressing skills on. I'm sure I will get that though as OH will want another trim or two before hairdressers are allowed to open again at the end of November.

Happy anniversary Nortsat ???

Knew you'd gone away Nflk. Glad you're back with us now though ☺️

Marydoll Thu 10-Sept-20 14:34:57

Glad to see you posting NFK, I wondered if you were ok.

Taichinan Thu 10-Sept-20 14:14:24

Goodness Nfk - a week without your phone?! I'd be bereft! It was my greatest fear during lockdown that my phone would die, leaving me totally cut off from the world ?. Glad you lived to tell the tale!

Marydoll Thu 10-Sept-20 14:04:05

mobb, we watched a documentary about the West Highland line the other evening and the train driver and her son the guard, were changing over at Ardlui, to make the journey back to Oban..
You have made me so envious.
When I was a student, I used to stay at Ardgarten youth hostel and one of my favourite pastimes was to watch the train clinging to the hillside. Happy, carefree days indeed.

Another fine 50th Anniversary, Nortsat. Enjoy the day flowerswinewine

EllanVannin Thu 10-Sept-20 12:22:53

GrandMattie, it took me ages to fathom that it wasn't a pair of frilly bloomers grin Must go to Spec-Savers.

Happy anniversary Nortsat Have a fab evening!!

EllanVannin Thu 10-Sept-20 12:20:28

BTW, it did strike me that I've still got the internet without the landline phone ? No mobile either.

Stilllearning Thu 10-Sept-20 11:12:58

A late good morning from S Lanarkshire where it’s rather cool. I have just started posting recently but have been reading all your posts for quite a long time and can’t believe that 10 weeks have passed since you went out to Spain Pantglas, how the ‘summer’ has flown! I have really enjoyed all the news from the three Mediterranean grans, little glimpses of lovely times past. Like Marydoll I should have been in Italy about now instead of going to meet a friend for a chilly outdoor coffee! Never mind, lots to be thankful for and best wishes to Nortsat and everyone else with something special to celebrate today

Good Morning to you all from a warm Cambs.,

Good to "see" you back NfkD, I did guess that you had gone for a trip.
Missed you, ( & Gillybob ).

Congratulations Nortsat on your anniversary.

Grannygravy, what a worry, hope it finally gets sorted.

Good, warm wishes to Marydoll, EllenVannin, Grandmafrench, Urmstongran, Gingster,*Pantglas*, plus the others I've forgotten to mention, (sorry if I've forgotten you), I do like to read your posts.

GrannyGravy, what a worry.??for a good outcome.

Happy anniversary The Norsats ???

EllanVannin Thu 10-Sept-20 11:02:24

Good Morning All x
Dull, heavy and still outside so far, whether it'll improve I'm not sure as I didn't see the forecast because I was otherwise involved in trying to get the phone up and working.

The landline has been off for 24hrs now and although I've emailed the company, you can't get any sense out of anyone. This is the 3rd time my landline has been affected by outages and each time I've bought a new phone but I know it's the fault of the provider----it drives me mad !

I don't have a mobile so can't do anything. The health link keeps periodically telling me that my phone's disconnected.
I can certainly do without this. Whenever repairs/maintenance is carried out it always seems to be me that suffers its outcome. Very p'd off today. BP is rising !

A day of irate emails ahead of me as I'd normally rant on the phone to get it out of my system. grin

GG a timely reminder of digging through the floor takes me back years when the basement of our old Victorian house sprung a leak. To cut a long story short, the chap who'd owned the property next door had tagged his sewer pipe onto ours----to save money instead of getting his own outlet----and tenants of his were putting all kinds down the drains, broken glass etc etc. which in time caused a fracture and began seeping through our basement.
It cost our insurance company thousands plus a higher premium. Not a good start with a neighbour who was wealthy and mean ! You have my sympathy with the mess GG.

I don't envisage getting much done today apart from a quick trip to the local shop for milk and a couple of bits and pieces. A mixed grill will suffice today, with a few fried potatoes thrown in which I'll boil ready this morning.

I hope everyone has a decent day. Thoughts to our friends too. flowers Everyone else stay safe and well. xx

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 10-Sept-20 10:59:56

Grandmattie, is that before or after the champagne?

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 10-Sept-20 10:52:37

Good Morning all it's a grey day in Harrogate. Might get pulled away from this machine, 'cause small GD has arrived. she's found something to busy herself with. Oh, today is such a busy day apart from looking after GD, making her lunch then our lunch. Finishing my list for an Asda delivery tomorrow thern another meal to make and a video call to my sisters and a video call to my art club!! I'm knackered thinking about it!!

Hope all are keeping well.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Sept-20 10:45:10

Happy Anniversary TheNorsats ??

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Sept-20 10:44:29

The men gave gone down two and a half metres, taken samples and photos to be analysed. It’s a waiting game now.

grandMattie Thu 10-Sept-20 10:35:00

Has anyone noticed that the two champagne glasses look like chicken drumsticks with frills?

Purplepixie Thu 10-Sept-20 10:30:16

Good morning from a grey but warm East Midlands. Stay safe and sane.

Georgesgran Thu 10-Sept-20 09:58:02

Good Morning from Durham. A fabulous start to the day - 3 in a row now!
Prescription for DH to collect from Surgery and a coffee with friend who moved house last week.

DH has a CT scan on Sunday morning - think next week could be ‘difficult’.

Have a good day everyone. X

Taichinan Thu 10-Sept-20 09:48:06

Good morning all, and Brrrr! Although there is blue to be seen through the grey, so there's hope for the day on the Angus coast. I'm surprised to hear that you have a fair in town Mick - a magnet for all the young people. With Boris's Six edict, however, it's not going to last for long. But goodness how I loved the fair when I was young! Congratulations Mumofmadboys on reaching the Fort! You must be incredibly fit, and I'm sure the spectacular scenery made the effort worth it. Safe journey home. I have now only one person left to contact about the return to tai chi classes and then I'm all set for a muted and socially distanced return next week. Nicola may decree otherwise of course. Today it's more plum harvesting and getting ready for the art group (aka ladies who chatter). Have the best day everyone, and I shall pop in later to read the rest of the posts. ???

Whatever you do, don’t go near the stash of cava for a little night cap after the lovely Hattie returns from her very early outing. ?
Would I ever? grin
