My OH came downstairs chuckling,he's been on a phone call to a friend celebrating a big anniversary .When he asked his friend what he appreciated about the years with his wife the answer was" She's always kept a good clean house" Imust say I'd hope my husband appreciated me for more than CLEANING!! What would you expect your OH to say if he was asked?

I just asked mine; he replied: “she fills my house with love”. Can’t fault that, really

We’ve been married 28 years!

My OH and I both have the same sense of humour, we have been married almost 50 years. Some of our comments to each other would probably not seem right to other people, but we know how to take each other...

He will say to me " my body is a temple" and my reply will be "of doom".
I will say to him "you would be lost without me" his reply "sometimes I'd rather be lost".

We both know that neither of us mean what we say, and sometimes we even finish off each others sentences, but we wouldn't have it any other way !!

Just asked my OH and the reply was ‘stability’ ! Not what I expected!

Orly your post made me laugh a lot. Whenever I say oh I am a mess or complain about my appearance my DH will reply there are lots worse out there. He thinks thats very complimentary.

Mine would say "Everything", and mean it!

Patsy429 Wed 16-Sep-20 14:30:59

Not going to ask but I'm sure it would be food every time. He always thanks me for a lovely dinner and thinks I should open a cafe. No way, far too much work!

some great answers here ,I'm so glad I asked .

GrannyBeek Wed 16-Sep-20 14:00:03

Mine said “loyalty”. That was after the long list of specific things he mentioned because he hadn’t listened to the words “one thing”. That’s the autism spectrum for you!

Tickledpink Wed 16-Sep-20 13:58:12

I just asked he said ‘fun and companionship’. No mention of my cooking skills ?. If I was asked the same question about him, it would be adventurous, dependable, loyal and practical.

My DH said that in the time we've been together (14 years, married for 11) he has had more hugs, laughter and fun than in the whole of his life before we met - which was 65 years. That will do for me as a tribute, and it's definitely reciprocated.

Luckylegs Wed 16-Sep-20 13:53:28

Asked mine and he thought about it for a moment then replied friendship. That’ll do for me even after 51 years and we often bicker every day!

SylviaPlathssister Wed 16-Sep-20 13:48:12

The first present my husband bought me was a pair of boot stretchers.....I am not sure what he would say about our years together, and I can’t ask him as he has just settled down for a sleep on the sofa. Lol

Beanie654321 Wed 16-Sep-20 13:45:08

I asked he said for being a kind and caring person. Far better than Cleaning.

What lovely replies Ladies. Just goes to show that there are some good men out there! (Sadly I missed out on choosing a good one....). Wishing you joy.

Lilyflower Wed 16-Sep-20 13:27:28

I asked him and he said that we were friends and could always talk to each other and share everything. Not a bad reply! it's what I would have said about him.

Horatia Wed 16-Sep-20 13:25:27

Probably my husband would say he loves my red hair, although the red disappeared about ten years ago.

Nannarose Wed 16-Sep-20 13:24:35

My DH has only been put on the spot once, and he said 'she is patient', rather like BlueSky's comment!

sodapop Wed 16-Sep-20 12:35:40

That's a great accolade from a Yorkshire man beverly10

Magz57 Wed 16-Sep-20 12:34:23

Oopsminty - I would just like to point out that if men did what was asked/needed at the time there would be no need to ‘nag’. If it was a man ‘nagging’ his wife he would call it ‘reminding her’ ?

beverly10 Wed 16-Sep-20 12:31:06

Not the romantic type, my late Yorkshire born and bred DH, bless his cotton socks, when asked that question was heard to say '.she makes a grand apple pie'.

BlueSky Wed 16-Sep-20 12:28:25

Ellan flowers

HillyN Wed 16-Sep-20 12:27:52

Orly that really made me laugh!

Rozzy Wed 16-Sep-20 12:24:45

Sorry, there's clearly something wrong with my eyesight today, I meant Orly!!

Rozzy Wed 16-Sep-20 12:23:37

I meant that as a response to ElaineRI55!
