Poor man. Life is so hard when you have to manage on a budget.

Oh come on Callistemon you have to admit Boris has such a colourful past it's the stuff of soap operas. Numerous partners, uncounted children, encounters with women who benefitted financially. He's the gift that keeps giving.
I do have some sympathy for Carrie, but she's a grown up and sholud have known better.

Odd, though, no-one is allowed to say anything about Harry but Borrie and Carrie are fair game

confused

PS, forgot to say a friend of a friend is a Norton Nanny , she earns around £30k a year with live in benefits, plus she holidays with the family and they provide her with a car.
Nannys aren’t cheap, maybe he should go for an Aupair?

?I see the gossips are out in force on this thread....
All it needs is a garden fence.

Oops.

There is a garden fence around on one of the threads but that got some of us into trouble too!

After seeing Carrie in the news papers on her getaway to The Italian lakes in a £900 a night hotel, I’m very far from sorry for Boris.
Sounds as though Carrie can afford a Nanny even if Boris can’t.

Ha ha Lemongrove ? they could take their bras off and do a ‘Cissie & Ada’ routine for our amusement!

Not surprising hey ;)

Trump?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Sept-20 13:20:10

There must be something wrong with him, no one behaves like he does at his age. Well I suppose Berlusconi.

Callistemon Fri 25-Sept-20 13:19:23

I think he's losing heart and doesn't really want the job.

I think you're right, Riverwalk. It's not what he signed up for, is it.
And if COVID does have long-term effects he may still be suffering.

Perhaps Carrie wonders if this is what she signed up for too. She's only 32.

Furret Fri 25-Sept-20 13:15:21

Heard rumours that the relationship is on the rocks.

Riverwalk Fri 25-Sept-20 08:33:00

And he didn't turn-up for yesterday's important announcement by the Chancellor! I think he's losing heart and doesn't really want the job.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Sept-20 08:27:54

Are they still together? Only she didn’t turn up at the Battle of Britain ceremony and all the other wives/girlfriends turned up.

vegansrock Fri 25-Sept-20 08:23:01

meanwhile...Carrie is holidaying with 3 friends at a 5 star hotel on Lake Como. Costs £600 a night! She must be getting good maternity pay or is someone else paying?

trisher Tue 22-Sept-20 17:01:50

vegansrock I'm glad she's being sensible about some things the woman usually gets to keep the ring!

vegansrock Tue 22-Sept-20 16:56:42

Divorces cost quite a bit. And Carrie flashes quite a big diamond ....

Sunny82z Tue 22-Sept-20 16:53:12

I find it concerning that at his ageBoris isn't in a better financial position, I feel it shows a degree of profligacy. However they do have to pay for food they consume at no10 and Chequers if it is not an official do, he also has to pay tax on no 10 as it is a benefit in kind.

A neighbour of mine is a nanny she is 50+ and was furloughed for a while as the parents were wfh, but was brought back as soon as they were able as they realised it was impossible to look after a toddler and work. They make her take a Covid test( private) every week!

Thank you welbeck - good idea, that may well be worth an email!

welbeck Sun 20-Sept-20 15:01:35

dear MIY, that's tough. so sorry. what about trying to contact martin lewis from moneysavingexpert; he has so many ideas. ?worth a try.
all the best.

Callistemon Sun 20-Sept-20 14:56:00

i dont believe they, or any of the 'posh set' have had to totally give up all of their hired help during any of this

Just as well, really, Nannan2 as they would then have had to be furloughed at tax payers' expense.

Sorry to hear things are so difficult for you MadeinYorkshire I hope you get some help.

Thank you Sodapop, I have been to every charity under the sun for help - I am in a very peculiar situation, not suitable for Equity Release - even the people selling the product have said 'don't do it'!

It is now down to Barclays to help me, that is the end of the road for me - if they don't though, because of my poor income I really do not know what I will do?? Pay my mortgage but starve and freeze I suppose .....?

The salary of a British Prime Minister is pathetic. The head of my local council earns £250,000. Surely, Prime Ministers should earn more. Having said that, Boris did know the salary before he applied for the job and he surely has investments like houses he rents out.

He only has to sit it out for a few years though and he will earn a fortune writing books and on the lecture circuit and on panel shows. Carrie may want more babies so she could be out of the full time work place for a while.
