We stayed in tents and caravans when we had a young family
Callistemon but DH and I have treated ourselves to 2 stays at the hotel in the last 5 years and it has been lovely. We’ve gone the full mile and had sea view rooms which is the icing on the cake.

We used to go down that way a lot when we lived in Devon, Puzzler and I have been to the hotel but not stayed there.
We were the poor relations in those days, staying in a tent! I think it's been refurbished since then too.

You're right, Mary but even the Kitchen and GM threads aren't off limits ...... fabulous people, fabulous atmosphere, fabulous everything and not a reason in the world for anyone to be offensive, mischief-making or disrespectful...... it's certainly hard not to respond - hence the missing posters.

There have been times when we've suffered almost anarchy in France, and the Police stand and watch; when you are pleading for some action and honestly expect them to do something but no, you get nothing like that, that's both so unnerving and worrying. I feel almost as bad about this situation and want no part of it, It just makes me feel used, very cross and out of control. No one wants huge amounts of censorship on these threads, nor to stifle debate or opinion BUT as far as behaviour goes, when ridiculous and determined bad behaviour constantly goes unchallenged except by other posters, there must be a limit or people are going to go elsewhere.

I have decided to post much less than usual. It's the only way not to be goaded into saying something I may regret.
I have had to sit on my hands recently and not respond to some posts. It's not easy.
It just not worth the angst.
There are so many people on here who are vulnerable and good at hiding it.

I honestly think that if we all said what we feel - we'd all be gone. How is that even credible? It's like the lunatics have well and truly taken over. And why? Just because they can! The rest of us have to bite our tongues. Since I don't find it funny and feel that I am now being forced to indulge very bad and confrontational behaviour, I think that I may be tempted to stop posting on a forum where it seems that nobody cares for long-standing loyalty, support, interest and respect from volumes of decent posters.
