Appropriate names

There was a fish and chip shop owner near here whose surname was Haddock and his shop was called Haddock’s Plaice.

We once employed a plumber called John Leak.

I overheard a man at the airport telling a colleague that a man he was to meet was called ALBERT HALL- he repeated it and said that honestly that was the man s name!

We had a vet who was Mr. Lion and at school I had a teacher called Mrs. Beard, which was sadly apposite.

I heard of a teacher called MISS BOSSIE!

I used to have a geometry teacher called Fred Angle

And this is true. One of our customers at the building society I worked at 55 years ago was Fanny Peasgood.

Our local solicitors are Wright Hassall & Co,

We had a pharmasist called Mr Payne

There was a dentist near where I live called Mr Screech.

Our vicar was the Revd Ball and then he became a Canon at the Cathedral!

bigbird1 my gynecologist in the States was also Dr. Dick!

My uncle by marriage was named Smellie, unfortunately he was a chiropodist. He just used his middle name professionally.

Our Domestic Science teacher was Miss Cook-not too amusing as it's not an unusual name, but our gym teacher was the wonderfully named Miss Standeven!

Reminds me - one of my DD’s teachers was Mr Tickle.

I once taught a girl called Tess Tickles. Really!

I worked in a hospital where there was a Dr Kilman. Also another called Mr Chackravarty. He later changed it to Chackrabarty as his kids were getting teased at school.
My daughter told me that she was at the airport when a notice was called out asking for Mr Abdo Fahrty to come to the desk.
I had a dentist called My Fang too. I wonder if it is the same one as others have mentioned. He was Vietnamese and considered quite mad.

I worked at a school where Mr and Mrs Button named their daughter Pearl

Also once knew someone who was the treasurer of a voluntary organisation whose surname was Meaney!

My DF often spoke of a local chap - I Berryman, Joiner and Undertaker.
