How about the well known gardener, called Bob Flowerdew?

I encountered a doctor some years ago who was Dr. Playfair; patients frequently mis-named him on forms as Fairplay, but the best one was Foreplay, following his initials: N.E.

We had a teacher at school who's name was Miss Varty, but I'm not sure whether she lived up to her name.

Head of Transport for Education where I worked was Rick Shaw!

A previous dentist I had was called Mr Pain. Does a person's name draw you to a particular profession, I wonder!

Not quite the same. As a very little girl I had a ballet teacher called Miss Davine. I couldn't work out why she had a man's title.

Where are you MrsR? I was going to say Box Brothers too... I grew up near Blackpool.
My dad was an optician and had patients called Percy Vere and Doctor Robinson. “Doctor” Robinson was a demolition expert. His parents obviously thought it would give him a leg up in life!

At secondary school my maths teacher was Mr. Measures.
