It depends on what kind of towels you like/
how much you want to spend /where you live /if you want to buy online etc etc.
Personally I can’t bear those velvety textured ones.

Primark sell lovely towels and they are nicer colours and half the price of an upmarket supermarket. Mine are soft and fluffy.

The most absorbent towels I bought were from Tesco, they washed and dried nicely.
The worst were from John Lewis where the stitching at the ends shrunk and pulled the towels out of shape.

Best value or best quality?
For quality look at the gsm (grams square meter). The higher the number, the better the towel. Hope that helps.

Thanks for feedback, interesting re Primark. I have bought expensive towels before and been disappointed.

Agree with Charleygirl Primark! I don’t like my towels too fluffy or too thick, despite being very reasonable, they are good quality and wash well.

M & S definitely they last forever. My daughter buys from NEXT and the seem very good and have more colourful ones.

Mine are from M&S mostly, but I did get some lovely thick hand towels recently from tesco.

It used to be Debenhams and British Home Stores. Now John Lewis and M&S.

TKMaxx is worth trying for towels. I have several pairs bought at least 15 years ago and still as good as new.

I was wondering about towels only yesterday - two of the ones we bought in 1976 are just starting to look weary!

Primark every time.

TKMaxx is brilliant for towels and bedding and their sister store, HomeSense, has a huge range of low priced designer brands. Always something there to catch the eye.

Primark here, too.
They keep their colour, seem to stay soft, and come in lovely colours.
