Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,wet and windy here in Brackley this morning , its a storm with a name.
Usual shop early , and get back watch some TV , then after lunch watch cycling on TV a raced based in Belgium, so conditions will be somewhat similar to what I am seeing now .
The Giro tour of Italy starts tomorrow , in this belated cycling season usually held in May .
Take care ,
Mick

Good Morning from a very rainy Black Country.

Yesterday turned out sunny and I was eating my late lunch sitting in the garden. I went to our local shopping centre (Merry Hill) yesterday, for the first time since lockdown. I had birthday vouchers to spend. I didn't find anything I liked, which is always the way. I did buy some birthday and C*******s cards though!

So sorry to hear your upsetting news Sark flowers

Bellasnanna your remark about your GD made me feel very sad. I hope she is ok.

Welcome back grandmattie sometimes we just need to take a break from everything flowers

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to all of you with worries and ill health

Good morning from murky Leicestershire.

Have to take some trousers back to M&S today - why do I keep ordering them when I always hate them! We will wrap up warm and have a coffee out.

My surgeon wants me to have the radiotherapy that I missed in March due to Covid, if the oncologist doesn’t agree it means another op to remove lymph nodes. It is all preventative so shouldn’t complain.

So sorry to hear of your worries Sark sending you hugs.

Still sunshine here in S Lanarkshire, a quick good morning to everyone, I’m looking forward to a decent walk while we still have these bright autumn days. Starting with mass at 9.30 and will be remembering all our group with fears and worries especially you Sark, I’m so sorry for your troubles.

Grammaretto Fri 02-Oct-20 07:58:20

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders.
Looking bright and sunny here.
I had the flu jab on Wednesday and have no ill effects.
Today the surveyor is coming to inspect the ceiling. We fear it's rotten.
DH is sleeping most of the day on his new drugs.
I am now worried about DD's health too so it's not a good picture.
I'll go for a walk and see if that can lift my spirits.
Thoughts for others who are troubled.

Morning everyone from a very wet south Cornwall. grandMattie I empathise. I'm in my sixth month of very little sleep and it shapes my life. Hope it doesn't last for you. Sark I'm sorry to hear about your problems but glad you shared them.

My dishwasher is in! Like a kid with a new toy, I keep looking at it. Will make such a difference to my discomfort in the kitchen.

Today I will knit some fingerless gloves to match a beret I've just knitted, and watch a film or two. Looks like the rain is here for the day!

The best of days to you all, where possible.

NanKate Fri 02-Oct-20 07:49:31

It’s never ending excitement at your house Kitty ?

Beechnut Fri 02-Oct-20 07:49:26

kittylester Fri 02-Oct-20 07:46:34

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

Exciting day a head for the Lester's- we have an appointment at the dump and then, maybe, a trip to the Charity shop!!

Fillet steak with stilton sauce for dinner.

sark, I am sorry to hear about your worries. Everything seems worse in these silly times, doesn't it?

I'm another one who would like to see gilly back.

Sending gentle, healing vibes to everyone who needs them.

Lins1066 Fri 02-Oct-20 07:41:57

Good morning Mick and all, it is very wet here on the S Welsh coast. Went for a walk down to the beach yesterday, the tide was in and there were lots of surfers enjoying the bigger waves. MrLins took the puppy for a soggy walk earlier, not much fun in this weather. We have our flu vaccines tomorrow, we only received our letters from the surgery on Wednesday. So sorry to hear about your family worries Sark? grandMattie your sleep pattern is familiar to me and it certainly wipes you out, take care.
Will ring the butcher at 8.30 to place an order for delivery.
Stay safe everyone.

harrigran Fri 02-Oct-20 07:39:40

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Text message from Royal mail telling me they will deliver a parcel tomorrow woke me at crack of dawn.
Another typical lockdown day, DH is in a lot of pain so we would not be going anywhere.
We have the box set of Dexter and are on to season three, not for those of a nervous disposition but we like it.
Thinking of all those with worries.

brook2704 Fri 02-Oct-20 07:28:49

Good morning everyone from Inverness where eventually it seems to have stopped raining - just for a little while though before the next lot comes in
Good to see you back grandmattie and hope you’re feeling more energised soon
Oh Sark you have far more than your fair share of worries, I really do hope things improve soon
Enjoy your first day of freedom pants sounds like a busy day!
Hope the day is kind to everyone, there seems to be lots of worries and struggles about so take care everyone whatever the day brings ?

Nannytopsy Fri 02-Oct-20 07:13:33

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Suffolk is grey and damp this morning and it’s not going to get any better today. Indoor jobs it is!
I am so sorry to hear of your worries Sark and wish you all well.
I have my flu jab tomorrow - I don’t usually react but lots of people seem to this year.
Best wishes to you all and I hope the day is kind to you.

grandMattie Fri 02-Oct-20 07:11:18

? ? to Sark, Urms, Mary...

Jaxjacky Fri 02-Oct-20 07:11:12

Good morning Mick and all from a dark, wet, S Hants. Not much on today washing, which will have to be dried indoors and sorting out my filing box. We redid our wills and prepaid funeral plans last week, so need filing and box sorted, rubbish to be burnt.
grandMattie lack of sleep is horrid, wipes me out. Sark my thoughts are with you, worrying times
Pantglas2 enjoy your fizz!
Stay safe all.

Sar53 Fri 02-Oct-20 07:10:21

Good morning from a very wet and windy Essex by the sea. A day for staying inside methinks.
Sark I'm so sorry to hear about your family members, sending flowers x
I received an email this morning, from my uncle in Australia, with a picture of my mum and her two older sisters in 1935 in their brownie/guide uniforms. I hadn't seen it before and I can certainly see the resemblance between my mum, me, my eldest daughter and her middle daughter.
We were planning a trip to the big blue and yellow store today but not sure we will be going now, the weather is atrocious.
I've been feeling a little down these last few days and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

NfkDumpling Fri 02-Oct-20 07:09:34

Morning All

We had a red sunset last night and now this red sunrise this morning. Perhaps it means the good weather zoomed past in the night and we missed it?

I don't think we'll get ourselves in gear quickly enough for our planned day out, it sounds as if the wet and windy weather won't be long getting here.

And it looks as if the weather is reflected in so many grans woes at present. Not a good time for so many. 2020 really has been a (excuse the language) c**p year. You did very well, Sark to find a silver lining. Sending positive vibes out in all directions hoping one or two may hit home.

Beauregard Fri 02-Oct-20 07:02:42

flowers to Sark who posted while I was writing mine. Thinking of you and yours.

Marydoll hope you feel better today flowers

Marydoll Fri 02-Oct-20 06:58:33

Sark I'm so sorry to hear of your worries, what an awful time for you. I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling.?

Beauregard Fri 02-Oct-20 06:56:05

Good morning from Derbyshire. Dry at the moment but rain due soon.

Busy day today - I'm off to the supermarket soon and need to be back by 9am as our little grandson is coming for a couple of hours while his mum does some jobs. Then I'm meeting my friend for lunch, which is always lovely to have a catch up. I haven't seen her for a while. After that a visit to the horses.

Mr B still having some pains. He's hoping for a phone call from the doctor today. They want to deal with it over the phone rather than see him, due to the current situation. We're due to go away next week so he's getting concerned about that.

Grandmafrench hope your pud cat is feeling better. Pantglas enjoy your freedom! GrandMattie glad to see you back.

Hope everyone is feeling well today. Have a good day.

Marydoll Fri 02-Oct-20 06:53:09

Good morning all from a very dark Glasgow, where it's only 2 degrees.

DH is playing golf, so an early start and the usual online Tesco order.
I find I'm ordering too much stuff, just in case I can't get out again. Too much stuff for two people, so I have been frugal today.

I fancy a bright yellow glass panel above the range to lift the kitchen, so it is.my mission to measure, source and spring my surprise on DH after the golf! ?
The reaction to my flu jag floored me yesterday. I don't think it has ever felt that bad before. ☹️ I suspect my compromised immune system has something to do with the reaction.
So I have a few chores to catch up on today. I bought a top from a company, recommended by someone on GN, it was one size, but DH could probably fit into it, along with me! Now that would be a sight to behold!! ?.
As it's a T shape, I think I can alter it.
That should keep me out of mischief!!?

The one think I did manage to make yesterday was chicken soup. However, it all went wrong!☹️
I looked at it bubbling away, and saw it was a strange brown shade.? I couldn't work out what was wrong. I tasted it and then I knew.
I had been making a spicy marinade for chicken, and it required a considerable amount of dark brown sugar.
I must have put it in the soup instead.☺️
The worrying thing is, I have no recollection of doing that.
I have truly lost the plot.
Not to be daunted, I poured off the sweet stock and started over.
I was so proud of the last of the leeks I had picked from the garden and wasn't going to waste them.?
The soup was delicious in the end.

Grandmattie, you had me worried, glad to see you back, I hope you pick up soon.
Pants, what an exciting day, you have planned! I never thought I would be excited about a visit to Lidl, but that is on my bucket list!!!?

My special good wishes to Dragonfly, not great news at the hospital and to all our other friends who are suffering at the moment.?

Have the best day you can in these worrying times.

Sark Fri 02-Oct-20 06:51:23

Good Morning everyone from a very wet Oxfordshire.
Urmstongran I hope it is a negative result for your DD and SIL.
I hope you can excuse my miserable post today!
Not a good night because I am full of worry.
DD2 is suffering dreadful headaches and has a hospital appointment next week.
DD1 who has had tumours (bone and thyroid) is having symptoms again and so further tests.
Mum has been unwell recently and is to see the neurologist
Brother who is in a fragile mental state lost his job yesterday
We are getting our monies worth from the NHS I suppose!
I know everyone of us has worries and worse things going on so again apologies but I think it helped just to write it down!
Sending best wishes to all

grandMattie Fri 02-Oct-20 06:32:55

Good morning from a very wet E Kent.
Thanks all esp.Marydoll and Pant for your kind thoughts. I’m fine but wiped out for some reason, lost my mojo. Must be my age.
Been sleeping particularly badly recently and DH woke me up at 0135 with bed shaking hiccups. Finally woke up at 0340 and waited for 5 to get up. Doesn’t make for energetic days...
Nothing on today except bedding to change. Too wet to do anything. Probably vegetate on the sofa watching back episodes of “Australian Masterchef” which love. Did my degree in W Aus a million years ago so still have a soft spot.
Have a good day all. X
