Photo Print Pleasure...

Hi all,
Am I the only one who gets so much joy and pleasure from photos? I've got 154 photos in an album, I'm buying 44 more then next month I will buy 46 and put 2 in the old album to finish it and 44 in the new one to start it.
I absolutely love photos, I've been working on my album all throughout lockdown and I absolutely adore it, it has all my favourite pictures and some I didn't even know existed or some I forgot about.
It's gave me something to focus on when I have been upset or felt hopeless.
I am going to catch up with the captions tonight then I'll order photos later tonight, I made the mistake of putting off the captions and now I have around 45 to do.
It's my absolute pride and joy and I'm sad about it being nearly finished but so excited to be able to look through a complete album and I'm also excited to start filling up the new one. I will always have one on the go now, I love it. X

I've decided I'm going to buy 46 this month instead and finish the album then start the new one next month. X

If possible try to use albums that are acid free to prevent precious photos yellowing and cracking.

Thanks. X

I’m doing my 2018 photo book at the moment. It’s a bit of a faff but worth it.

Enjoy. X

Do you just put names date and place on your captions fh ?? Or do you add comments. I think it makes them more interesting if there is a bit of background info to the photo

I put names and places, who took it and I would put "Christmas 2015" or "X's birthday" usually or if it's an old picture I would put the approximate year or if it's recent I don't bother with when it was. X

You have inspired me to make a start smile what do you stick your photos in with maybe double sided?

Or is it an album that you do on line then send it in and it comes back sort of ready done like a book .

I use slip in albums so I just put it in the pocket. I've finished all my captions. X

I print my own photos, I have a smart printer where you pay x amount per month mine is £1.99 and you can print out around 50 sheets of A4 photos per month but you can upgrade, the printer has a chip in and it knows when your running out of ink and it sends you another cartridge in the post.

I too love to see and hold proper photos, there's something special about the old black and white ones with the little white border round, they hold a story, like before fancy cameras these phots may have been taken with a old box Brownie, then taken to the shop and opened under the cover of darkness.

I am guilty of just putting them straight on computer, but would love albums to look through.

My mum has recently died and we have had photo box out, but too painful to look through at the moment.

What I might start is one for GS whos nearly 6, all the days out we have had, tents we have made, walking in the river with wellies on, so much more to a photo like they say "the picture tells it all"

flyinghandbag you sound like you are really enjoying putting your albums together smile

My trouble is when! I do start I cant choose which photos to use out of the many 100s confused

I spend ages putting mine from the computer into photo books as they take up less room. And we have a lot of photos. At present I'm resuming my last winter occupation of photographing old photos (the scanner is really slow) and putting them onto the computer to put into books.

I love getting a new batch and putting them in... it gives me such a lovely feeling. X

I feel the same as you FH I love my printed photos but I’m from that generation when the only photos were printed. They are much more enjoyable than the digital ones and look great displayed in albums!

I absolutely love photographs and albums. X

You didn't have a problem advertising Amazon on the other thread on exactly the same subject ?

I'm very happy about them. They kept me going when the lockdown was at its tightest. X

That wasn't very nice. Perhaps she's so happy about her pics she wants to talk about them again!
