My cleaner has died suddenly---

I have a big bagless and a stick ditto. I empty them (indoors) straight into a bin liner - there’s hardly any dust.

My main peeve with the Dyson cordless (bought some time ago and one of the cheaper ones) is that it stops working if the filter needs washing - and it takes 24 hours to dry. Plus it’s not remotely obvious from the look of it that the filter does need washing.
We bought a spare for £12 ish - in the circs I really think they should supply a spare as standard.

I have had 2 Air Rams - the first was great and picked up everything in it's path but the second (bought for another property) was pretty useless. I have a Dyson Animal which I love - I've taken it completely to bits a couple of times to clean it which is handy (YouTube helped ) but I also have a Vax cordless - it's ok but quite bulky and not so easy to clean. The Shark one with hair wrap technology looks good - I have long hair and cats so constantly clearing the brushes of the stuff!

why do people prefer bagless; i find them repulsive, all that dust flying around when i try to open an awkward catch, balancing it above the dustbin in a gale.
i much prefer bags which can be handled carefully inside and keeps a barrier between me and the dust.

Luckygirl if I remember correctly they are none too cheap so should not be so fragile.

I have a Dyson stick vacuum cleaner and it has been nothing but trouble. It has been back to the maker twice for replacement parts and another part is teetering on the brink right now.

The motor and suction are fine; but the plastic parts are brittle and fragile and do not last.

Chicken I meant to ask why don’t you want to replace your Air Ram? I’ve got one a GTec K9 and I’m very pleased, I’ve recently purchased it after buying a Dyson Ball which proved far too heavy. Beware of the heavy cleaners!

I too took your title at face value but was just relieved to find that it was only a vacuum cleaner. No offence or upset caused at all.
