I have a big bagless and a stick ditto. I empty them (indoors) straight into a bin liner - there’s hardly any dust.
My main peeve with the Dyson cordless (bought some time ago and one of the cheaper ones) is that it stops working if the filter needs washing - and it takes 24 hours to dry. Plus it’s not remotely obvious from the look of it that the filter does need washing.
We bought a spare for £12 ish - in the circs I really think they should supply a spare as standard.
Terrible relationship with DIL - am I the problem?

) but I also have a Vax cordless - it's ok but quite bulky and not so easy to clean. The Shark one with hair wrap technology looks good - I have long hair and cats so constantly clearing the brushes of the stuff!
