Callistemon, I think you take them for a walk and feed them. X

FlyingHxndbag Sun 18-Oct-20 20:07:22

Kalu, I'm not offended at all, I was just confused, it's my mistake. I don't know where the alpacas are as all my uncle said was a nearby village but I think I can guess which village he means as there is quite a lot of farms in a particular village. I left out a bit in my post. I meant to say that the village I suspect he means isn't well known at all. I typed it in a rush, I'm sorry for any confusion. Would you like to PM me what village you think it is? X

Chewbacca Sun 18-Oct-20 20:06:03

Not been very keen on alpacas or llamas, since I saw 4 of them run up the field and spit at the people standing admiring them. Must have been at least 8 feet away and the amount of spit was astonishing. Best take a kagoul with you Flying.

Callistemon Sun 18-Oct-20 19:49:10

NotaGran they have such lovely faces, don't they.

Callistemon Sun 18-Oct-20 19:48:06

Lisagran

That sounds fun, FlyingHxndbag smile. One of my daughter went llama / alpaca trekking last year as someone gave her a voucher for it. She really enjoyed it!

Do you ride them or walk with them, Lisagran?
Do you know, FlyingH?

I know llamas are bigger than alpacas so I'm not sure.
Llamas can be a bit fierce, don't they sometimes keep them with sheep to frighten predators away?

And I know alpacas can be sheared for their soft fleeces- can llamas too?

Anyway, shout out
I repotted some plants today and made some scones, successfully, first time ever!
What an exciting life I lead.

I mean no disrespect Flying. I was born and raised in Glasgow so know the city and surrounding areas well plus my DD and her friends tell me about good places our GDs would enjoy visiting. As you have mentioned on GN you live outside Glasgow, the Alpaca Farm you mention is specific to me.

I apologise if I have upset you in any way. X

NotAGran55 Sun 18-Oct-20 19:06:33

I took an alpaca ? for a walk 3 weeks ago . They came running up as we arrived saying ‘Pick me pick me’ smile

FlyingHxndbag Sun 18-Oct-20 18:56:06

Kalu, I don't think you would know as nobody has ever heard of where I live and this village is even less well known. X

We're alive!

shysal Sun 18-Oct-20 18:10:06

I am cooking some roast potatoes after several weeks of eating low carb and losing 10 lb. They look yummy! A treat once in a while won't do me any harm smile

Kalu Sun 18-Oct-20 17:58:43

I won’t spoil your surprise Flying but I know which village it must be. Enjoy. Our GDs had such a lovely visit there.

I managed to administer the cat’s flea treatment today without it turning into a major drama. What a performance. ?

FlyingHxndbag Sun 18-Oct-20 17:42:54

I don't actually know where it is, my uncle is booking it all he said was it was in a village near by but I don't know what village. X

Vickysponge Sun 18-Oct-20 17:11:42

Sorry off track.

I made profiteroles today ?

My uncle is taking my cousin and I to see alpacas in a local village in a few weeks! X

Hi FH there is a little farm quite near us that have alpacas. My grand daughters absolutely love them. Beautiful animals.

Parsley3 Sun 18-Oct-20 16:55:05

I have just finished a lovely cup of tea with two stem ginger biscuits. Bliss.

Marydoll Sun 18-Oct-20 16:46:53

Thank you FH. I'm always looking for something to do, once I'm allowed out again that is!
Where is the one you are going to?
I can't drive too far, as my RA causes chronic pain in my leg and foot.
Half an hour's drive is about my limit.
Definitely not my husband's cup of tea, no point in asking him to come. ?

I planted my tulips this afternoon. Something to look forward to in the spring.

jeanio Sun 18-Oct-20 16:39:00

Just been for a lovely walk taking in the fresh air by the river.

Lollin Sun 18-Oct-20 16:34:40

Just enjoyed a bar of chocolate, now to eat a massive apple picked fresh from the garden.

My wee granddaughter would love that Lisa.
I didn't realise there were Alpaca farms near Glasgow FH.
