They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Sadly coming to an end. Haven’t contributed much but have very much enjoyed this wonderful thread, all the lovely views, skies, jugs, animals and so much more.
Thank you for starting it up and for keeping it rolling Ellianne. Please start another soon.

I’ve been distracted and not managed a look on this thread lately, what treats I have missed - thanks everyone.
Lovely words and images Ellianne
Here’s one I took a couple of years ago, I came across it again the other day and I thought it just sums up the upside down year we’ve all had in 2020!

Ellianne Tue 22-Dec-20 13:14:59

Might as well get started on this then, seeing as we won't be sharing it!

Just had ten minutes catching up on the posts and beautiful photos...love the 'broken dog's.. ?x

Greyduster Mon 21-Dec-20 16:25:40

That’s lovely, Ellianne. Let’s all hope that a better future for all of us and our grandchildren is not too far off.

I was taking a look at all the photos on here over the weekend. Thank goodness for nature and all the beautiful views, plus all the other wonderful pictures!
This morning I tried to be clever and grabbed a child to add to a previous photo I took. I didn't want the person to take over the landscape so attempted to be creative and make the figure represent all those children we have been unable to hug and the feeling of longing. The child is gazing wistfully into the distance, 1000 words, read from that what you like.

Santa help, my dog is broken!
(Not that I want a new one for Christmas).

cornergran Fri 18-Dec-20 21:21:08

The sky this morning before the rain began, still falling. Webbed feet will be needed soon.

Ellianne

Holly alert!
I watched a programme about Hampton Court at Christmas and the lady who was doing the decorations was cutting all the red berries off the holly. She was then twisting little artificial ones back on the stems. Apparently the berries stain the floor. I never knew that.

Yes, I saw that.
We have berries on our holly for the first time this year. I am waiting till the storms have passed before I go out to investigate.

Ellianne Fri 18-Dec-20 17:52:17

My eyes see it better with tee light!

Greyduster Fri 18-Dec-20 13:37:20

Without teelight and with teelight..... I think it’s teelightful!

Jug, not as neat as yours Lisagran. I just ran out to my porch to get a photo!
