1000 words. Photos on GN.

I enjoy the photos of things that people have made, craft projects, baking etc. However I feel slightly uncomfortable when people post photos of their grandchildren, not because I don't think that the children are delightful, but because I wonder if their parents want the photos on a public internet forum.

I agree. If someone has made something, or planted-up a pot it is nice to see a picture of it. Not so sure about photos of people though unless they are in the public eye anyway.

I don’t have grandchildren but I have planted up pots of flowers - and it’s very cheery to see the blooms at different seasons in the year.
These little viola’s have settled nicely and are a riot of colour so I’ll share.

I agree about the photos of grandchildren, Ilovecheese. I don't like to see them either on here or on other social media sites.

I remember when many GNers posted their photos on their profile for all to see. I always thought they were ill-advised, but it was interesting to see what people looked like!

As far as I'm concerned, any other photos brighten up the place, and we could certainly do with more of that right now.

PS I remember jingl once posted a photo of herself on a thread. It gave me quite a start as she was the spitting image of my grammar school headmistress!

In a nutshell, Lucca, jingl was a poster who was not afraid to ruffle feathers. She didn't suffer fools but was also kind and supportive. Back in the early days of Gransnet her off the wall style of humour was never a problem to HQ when Justine and Geraldine were at the helm. Geraldine would join in with the jokes. There was the occasional suspension but with the new regime it's their way or the highway.

A lot of us feel a life ban is grossly unfair and unwarranted.

Having said all that, the last time I wrote a heartfelt plea to get her back, she had already snuck in under the wire and I got a PM saying, 'It's me, you daft bat!'

Same here, merlot! She’d assumed I’d recognised her!
