1000 words. Photos on GN.

They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Two photos from our last visit to Australia earlier this year. One showing the totally blackened trunks and one just a few weeks later with the signs of regeneration.

Loving all the photos - thank you for the nice comments about Grannie Emily Gotsheim Stenzhorn I think they only took non-smiling photos in those days.

Oh! Are you allowed to post cock pics? smile

Sorry, bad joke.
I love seeing peoples pictures; their views, their homes, their cats.

Lovely flower and bird pics, grannyqueenie. I’m the same - always taking pics!

Those baguettes look great, Ellianne

And because I can’t resist, some more from a recent day out...you’ll be sorry you asked!!

I love taking photos and do so everywhere I go. Here are some of the last colours in the garden. Some lovely ones on this thread, I really enjoy seeing other people’s creativity.

I remember your lovely foxgloves and suggested you frame it in a nice white frame.

Great artwork, Purplepixie.

FannyCornforth Sat 17-Oct-20 11:52:52

That is really beautiful purplepixie.

I love to paint, it has been my life saver during this nightmare.

LauraNorder Sat 17-Oct-20 10:42:40

That’s a great photo Jane10.

Impressive baguettes

LauraNorder Sat 17-Oct-20 10:39:39

Sorry about poor Chris Callistemon.
Our friends had two ewes rescued from a rather neglectful farmer, they were called Worthless and Useless. They were much loved too in spite of given names.

Ellianne Sat 17-Oct-20 10:38:49

This morning's experiment at baguettes.

LauraNorder Sat 17-Oct-20 10:36:15

Pic as in picture not pick as in bluddy autocorrect picking its own word

LauraNorder Sat 17-Oct-20 10:34:59

I’ve seen your lovely paintings before Purplepixie, very gentle and pretty. Glad to see you’re still at it.
Your flower photos are brilliant Lisagran.
Great pick and amusing story Sheepandcattle.

A view towards Holyhead from our nearest beach and Holyhead marina.
Lovely idea for a thread Ellianne.

Here is Chris, the runaway sheep.
Sadly Chris died last year but he had a few more happy years after being captured and shorn.

Thanks for joining in the thread by the way. I saw a few more photos cropping up elsewhere too!

DanniRae

I loved the "Wedding Dress" thread. So interesting to see all the photos of the different brides in their beautiful dresses..........I had to describe mine as I don't know how to put a photo on here sad

That was very memorable DanniRae.
A re run of mine!

I do like seeing photos on Gransnet, though I don't know how to add them myself.

Someone might explain it better, but first you click on the paperclip then select from your gallery. I think you have to put a comment in the box or it doesn't work.
