Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but also dry here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, did not quite go to plan , I had my pork slices in a bap and came over shortly after with a cold sweat ,and wanting to be sick , anyway I was feeling weak , but got the bus ,although breathing was hard , watched V to concentrate, it helped sick a few times bringing up flem ,and the stuffing I had, relaxed with sweating .
Starved myself would have had a Chinese Take away , anyway OK now after a restful night .
I did enjoy watching the latest Freeview Channel 11 Sky Arts where I watched the history of the Motown label .
Today apart from a small shop, will watch a combination of the Giro ,and Tour of Flanders something like 8 hours viewing including the women's of Flanders.
Take Care ,
Mick

Thank you for your kind wishes. Sadly, I’ve got used to saying goodbye. I left my active Mauritius aged 20 and never knew the next time I would see my family. It was a bereavement each time. One gets used to it.
Happy birthday Sark. flowers

Good morning Mick and the GM team from an overcast east London.

I am not feeling too well today, so a quiet day.
Happy Birthday Sark
Grandmattie glad you had a lovely day with your favourite boys and a lovely meal.
Ashcombe what a lovely daughter and what lovely flowers.

I had my hair cut yesterday. The young woman who cuts it comes here to the house, she was in full PPE and we did the cutting in the hall. So I was on a chair in the hall in a plastic gown and a mask and she was in a visor, a mask, and plastic gown, with her scissors in hand ... when the postman rang the doorbell.
Our postman is deaf and I was masked so I had no chance of telling him what was going on ...so we must have looked like a pair of mad women.

I am putting our supper on to slow cook.

Thinking of Bluesapphire and gilly. Hoping Marydoll had a better night and that Mick is recovered from the pork bap.
Good morning Doghouse 1, if indeed you are still in there. Good thoughts to those facing challenges and have a pleasant day all. ?

grandMattie Sun 18-Oct-20 08:13:25

Morning all from a North Leicestershire which is very grey just as dragonfly said.

Sorry you were unwell Mick, hopefully you will avoid that food outlet in future.

Many happy returns Sark. 2 lovely baskets of flowers, Ashcombe. kate, you know me so well!!

Not a lot on the agenda here apart from a video chat with DD2 and girls. Masala chicken with rice for dinner.

Sending love to all with pain, problems or worries and sending hugs and love to our gilly.

Good morning from Malta where it is a bit cloudy but the sun is there somewhere and the temp is expected to be 21°C today. That’s chilly for us!?

Very sorry to hear about your upset tum yesterday, Mick. It does sound as though the food wasn’t quite right. Do hope you are feeling better today.

Many happy returns, Sark hope you enjoy your day at your daughter’s.???

Lovely flowers, Ashcombe, don’t worry about the duplicate, we can enjoy them twice!

Sorry you’ve done your back in Scentia. I sympathise as I know how debilitating it is.

Bon voyage to your son, grandMattie. Goodbyes are difficult at the best of times. Hope you won’t feel too sad.?

No plans today for me. Lots of things I ought to be doing but I’m not even out of bed yet. Must get going.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.☀️

Good morning All from Polmont where the clouds are low and it feels cold. I can't see me going far today. Mick commiserations. I hope you are feeling better today. Sark Happy birthday. Have a lovely day. Ashcombe the flowers are beautiful. What are you going to get up to now you're out of quarantine? Mellowyellow are you going to make Halloween crafts with your dgd? A unicorn sounds lovely. Scentia that sounds so painful! All for a simple act. Take care of your back. I had a lovely four hours babysitting yesterday. Dgs is so sunny natured and never stops moving! We were dancing, playing with cars and building towers. I lolled about like a roman emperor once he went home. So the housework I didn't do yesterday, has to be done today. I hope you have a good day all.

Lins1066 Sun 18-Oct-20 08:22:39

Good morning Mick and all, it is dry here on the S Welsh coast. Lovely flowers Ashcombe.
Happy birthday Sark, enjoy your day.
Roast pork and a fresh fruit salad on the menu for us today, looking forward to that.
Have a pleasant day and stay safe.

annsixty Sun 18-Oct-20 08:23:35

Good morning all from Stockport.
A week after coming home from my op and after a miserable couple of days I am pleased to say my recovery is now going well.
I am mobilising well and my pain is now minimal.

I was very low going into into it and 4 years older than when I had my new knee but now I can see the difference it is going to make.
I am taking things slowly as I am in no hurry, we are in tier two now and could be in tier three any day if BJ gets his way.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes.

Happy Birthday Sark and get well soon to all who are not feeling too good.
Have the best Sunday you can everyone.

Gelisajams Sun 18-Oct-20 08:27:37

Good morning from a very still grey Morecambe Bay.
Happy Birthday Sark Enjoy your lunch.
We too are off for lunch - a take away roast which we will eat in the camper.
Thinking of all with difficulties there are so many at the moment.
Take care and stay safe everyone?

Marydoll Sun 18-Oct-20 08:27:45

Good morning Mick and everyone on this lovely thread.
I'm so sorry your day was spoiled yesterday, Mick.

So many unwell people on here this morning and I will be joining you. I eventually had to go back to bed yesterday, I was feeling so ropey. Instead of the Spaghetti vongole he was expecting, poor DH had to open a tinned of corned beef and rustle up something for his dinner!?
I had labyrinthitis when I was in hospital last year and it feels similar, I just felt so awful.
I hope all the patients in the sick bay continue to improve.

Grandmattie, a sad day for you, but lots of happy memories for you and your family of happy times spent together.

I have no idea what the weather is like, as I'm still in bed, with no desire to get up. However, apparently Flyinghxndbag, a new visitor to the thread yesterday, who coincidentally lives in a small town near Glasgow, what a lovely surprise, could give us a weather report.
It's great when you hear a poster lives quite close to you.

Stay safe everyone. DH has brought me the papers to read in bed, so I shall enjoy the TLC while it lasts.

Jaxjacky Sun 18-Oct-20 08:31:31

Good morning all, Mick hope you’re fully recovered, Ashcombe wonderful flowers. Happy Birthday to Sark.
Boy I’m unfit! 30 minutes solid digging of couch grass on new allotment yesterday, a few tweaking muscles this morning.
I took the pumpkin and squash, grown in the garden, to the GC’s yesterday, they were very excited. DH off to play golf soon, I’ll be doing the washing, lamb shanks for dinner. Have a lovely day all.

Marydoll Sun 18-Oct-20 08:31:43

Happy birthday, Sark and so lovely to see you posting, ann sixty, you sound more upbeat.?

Jaxjacky Sun 18-Oct-20 08:35:09

Oops forgot the weather here in S Hants, grey and cloudy, forecast dry.

Dwmxwg Sun 18-Oct-20 08:36:51

Good morning all from a dry and grey North Surrey.
Beautiful flowers from your daughter Ashcombe how thoughtful of your daughter.
I enjoyed Strictly too Gingster, felt a bit weird but good to see it on in any format really. Always my favourite Saturday night watch.
We enjoyed a lovely walk through the woods and along the river at Cookham yesterday, then back in time for DH to watch his team lose.
Am with DGSs this morning and going to FaceTime their 2 year old cousin soon.
Should be working this afternoon, hope I don’t get cancelled again.
Have a restful Sunday all

Urmstongran Sun 18-Oct-20 08:39:37

Sun’s up here! 22°C forecast. Just lovely.
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

We bought toys ++ on the marina yesterday and strolled around in the late morning sun and enjoyed a coffee down their admiring the boats and one or two yachts where one lady was inside vacuuming the carpets. That would be the nearest I’d get to being on one too I laughed!

Himself & friend were happy as Rangers had a good win, then later in the evening Man. Utd won their match.

No plans for today. I fancy going out for a nice dinner tonight now I’ve read of the food some of you are preparing for today!

So glad to hear you got your hip op done annsixty when you did. Take your time mobilising, good for you. Beautiful flowers Ashcombe what a thoughtful daughter.

Many happy returns of the day to you Sark! Hope you have a good one. ?

How are the puppy classes going Lins60? Post a photo if you can. Puppies are so cute!

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Ps sorry to hear about your sickness yesterday Mick. How horrid for you when having to get yourself home too on a bus. Glad you’re fine today. Rest up - it’s Sunday ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-Oct-20 08:44:20

Good morning Mick and all

Sorry to hear you were poorly yesterday Mick have a resting day today.

Beautiful flowers from a thoughtful daughter Ashcombe

Bon Voyage to GrandMatties DS

I think we need a sick bay for all the poorly goodmorningers wishing you well soon ????

I shall have a lazy day today until we go out for a late lunch at 5pm, no preparation or washing up yippee!!!!

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-Oct-20 08:45:56

Happy Birthday Sark ???

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 18-Oct-20 08:48:55

Morning all from an overcast but dry as yet South Notts. I expect to do my weekly shop this morning. Mowed the lawn yesterday - the most hated job of the week, but 'tis done. I've been making an apron over the last few days so have immersed myself in that instead of the usual tasks, naughty, naughty but the dust can wait.
Hope you're feeling better Mick as it's horrible to feel sick on a journey. Marydoll you must feel rotten and sometimes you just have to give in.
Hope all is well with everyone especially those with illness or worries.

baubles Sun 18-Oct-20 08:52:12

Good morning Mick hope you fully recover today. Morning all, it’s dry and dull in S Lanarkshire.

I put up a few Halloween decorations in the garden yesterday as quite a few houses around have been decorated for a week or more. I know it’s early but what the heck!

Happy birthday Sark cupcake

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.

Greyduster Sun 18-Oct-20 08:56:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s dull but dry in South Yorkshire. Sorry to hear of your posting bap upset you Mick. Likely to have been the stuffing I would think. We get ours from a local pork butcher and his pork is roasted fresh every day - sometimes he’ll go through a couple of large joints his sandwiches are so popular, but I never have stuffing. GS is playing football this morning but we aren’t going as it’s an away match a good drive from us and DH wants to listen in to his Premier League match on the radio. Please Lord, don’t let them lose again - even a draw would be very acceptable!! Chicken wrapped in Parma ham with a Roquefort sauce for dinner.
Ann I’m very pleased to see your mobility is increasing daily. Onward and upward! Enjoyed your Sunday folks.

Greyduster Sun 18-Oct-20 08:57:08

‘Pork’ not posting! Bloomin’auto thingy!

Anniebach Sun 18-Oct-20 08:58:08

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

harrigran Sun 18-Oct-20 09:05:24

Good morning from a sunny NE after overnight rain.
Had 75 minute video call with my sister yesterday, she is running out of her favourite face creams because it is a year since she was in the UK. I have promised to make up a parcel and post it, she does not do internet shopping.
Happy birthday Sark ?

cornergran Sun 18-Oct-20 09:06:04

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey corner of Somerset. Slow start after a very active, happy day yesterday with our Littlest. Would you believe his cousins covid test outcome is still not back, 5 days now. The pressure on the young ones while they wait is huge. Quiet day ahead here, a walk if it brightens, gammon later, not much in between. Happy birthday sark, enjoy every minute. Good to hear you’re improving ann. I think that experience would deter me from buying more mick, sounds horrid. That’s not good marydoll, please rest today. Special thoughts to all poorly people and those with heavy hearts. Also the DH1, hope to se you back soon. Take care everyone.

Grandmafrench Sun 18-Oct-20 09:17:26

Good Morning everyone from a blue and sunny S of ??, birds are singing, bees are still busy and all is calm except for the mindless background noise of gunfire! ? Yes, lunatic ‘hunters’ shooting at nothing the moment the season starts. We don’t even live in the countryside but find any patch of land and they’re off! Normal people couldn’t use the beaches for most of the year due to COVID restrictions and the Wild West rages in the countryside from now until the end of Spring, making for anxious walks. ? Makes me rage!

Happy Birthday ? Sark. Have the best of days! We love them and let them go, GrandMattie...as long as he’s happy, know you will be too.

Feel better today, Mick. Sorry you feel rough Nortsat...loved the haircut in the hall story. Poor you, Scentia - do treat it with respect though and a couple of days should make a difference. Brilliant news that you can see a difference already, Ann.....baby steps, eh? Hope you’re feeling a bit better about treatment options now you’re finally being given some attention in cornerland. It’s just not fair being worried and having to guess, is it?

To posters I’ve undoubtedly missed, hope life is not treating you badly and if you’re not feeling 100%, just stay in bed. (And where are you going, Mary? )

Beautiful blooms, Ashcombe.

I have an Endocrinology Specialist appointment early tomorrow, so I shall probably miss Monday wishes.

Enjoy your day all - and keep safe. Nothing else matters!

Hugs from foreign parts ??
