Good Morning Everyone,
its dark but its dry out here in Brackley .
I am back to normal as regards to things health wise .
I ate regularly yesterday ,and at least I felt as though I did not want to collapse.
Did a small shop supermarket wise, think now most supermarkets have no crowd control people are brushing alongside one another as well as staff , experiences have been like going into a overcrowded pub.
Anyway enjoyed the racing yesterday, non on today but continues tomorrow .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
A short trip across town to deliver a pot of soup to sister's doorstep and then online shopping.
Skype chat with DD yesterday afternoon, she will be working from home again starting this week, infection rate is very high in Brussels.
Fingers crossed for your DD Bellasnana.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
Laundry and Lidl are all that is in the diary today.
Might buy some new thermals as I can only mix with DH and DS indoors and it's getting chilly outside.

Good morning from a dull but dry Black Country.

Arrived home from Somerset last night after a few days away in the caravan. Spent most of yesterday winterising it and cleaning. So thats it for the Winter.

Welcome to this thread Cally100 and congratulations on the birth of your first granchild.

Lovely story NanKate enjoy your day with friends.

Dentist today. This is a cancelled appointment from April, when I should have had a filling. Part of tooth has broken off since then, and I had to keep ringing to push for this appoinment.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Concentrating so hard trying to send the picture, I forgot to say that I hope everyone has the best day today and to those feeling a bit ‘icky’ - take it easy. X

dragonfly46 Mon 19-Oct-20 08:32:46

So pleased the result was negative Corner you waited long enough.
Hopefully you will continue to feel better Marydoll and hoping your DD’s op is successful Bellasnana.

Good morning from Durham. Yet another grey, overcast, wet morning. We have DD2’s dogs today, Wednesday and Thursday - I have to walk them separately. All a bit difficult with DH poorly - the puppy’s a bit of a handful - but it gives me something to do. DGS coming tomorrow to play and Hospital on Friday for blood tests prior to chemo next Tuesday.
Birthday card and gift to drop off at friend’s house - can’t go inside, so a quick doorstep chat.

Good morning Mick, pleased you’ve recovered, and all, from a cloudy S Hants. Welcome Cally, Ashcombe enjoy your first day of freedom!
Hair trim today, either in the garden or kitchen, shorter hair and a fringe are not as forgiving as the longer hair I had.
I can’t remember who was looking for cord skirts, this came in overnight:

Dwmxwg Mon 19-Oct-20 08:21:20

Morning all from North Surrey, DH says it’s dry out. I am having a mini lie in after struggling to get off to sleep last night, often happens after a late shift. Another shift this afternoon so need to get myself going soon.
What a gorgeous puppy Lins
Glad you have recovered from your tummy upset Mick
Wishing all a happy Monday

Marydoll Mon 19-Oct-20 08:16:37

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, it's chucking it down!
This of course means no golf for DH and consequently no empty for me!☹️

Having spent most of yesterday in bed, I feel a bit better.
As I can't go into the garden today , I will be forced to deal with admin tasks.
We are still fighting with the credit card company over the cancelled wedding.?
After making a formal complaint about lack of communication on their part, they put a £ 75 credit into my account.? I wasn't expecting anything.

Another pleasant surprise came after DH broke a part of the Dyson cleaner, so glad it wasn't me and he spent days trying to get a replacement part, without success.
I asked if he had contacted Dyson themselves, which would be too obvious. The reply was that he couldn't find the part on their website. ☹️
So, I emailed Dyson with the part and the serial numbers of the cleaner. Two days later, the part has been posted, free of charge. Now that's service. It takes a woman's touch !!! ?

Welcome Cally and NFK, I wondered where you were.
Bellasnanna, I hope all goes well for your daughter, it must be difficult with her being so far away from you.
Kate, enjoy your day out! No buying of scarves, jewellery etc, you have enough!!!

I think Borrheid55 is having an MRI today, hopefully not too stressfull for you.

Love to all our missing posters.

Good morning all from Essex. I’m sitting in the conservatory with a cuppa and little pooch snoozing beside me. I’ve just looked at the weather forecast. No rain for today.! ?. Heard what I thought sounded like rain so looked up and it’s hammering down. ????.

Lins your little pup is adorable!

Enjoy your freedom Ashcombe.

Glad your tum is better Mick and glad your back is better Scentia,.

I haven’t heard if our GC will have two weeks off Sar. It might be a good idea though!

Hoping you all have a pleasant day and those who are poorly , rest up and spoil yourselves with something nice. ???

Kalu Mon 19-Oct-20 08:09:52

Good morning all from a stinker of a day in Glasgow where I can hear heavy rain against the windows.

I am in no hurry to get up just yet. Made my morning coffee and have decided to come back to bed. DH and cat are sound asleep so not disturbing them. I don’t think even the roof falling in would waken DH!

Pleased to hear your DS is safely home Grandmattie.
A warm welcome to our lovely thread Cally and a loving welcome to the world for your GC.
What a lovely story NanKate. A day out and a meet up with good friends sounds perfect. Enjoy your day.
Hope you are feeling a good bit better today Marydoll. As it is such a miserable morning I hope you will just cosy up and look after yourself?
Good morning also to Maw and the adorable Hattie. ?

I feel in quite a decadent mood now that I have come back to bed. Not something I normally enjoy but I may well stay here for a while longer and pick up my book. Bliss

Have a pleasant day all and special good wishes to our friends MIA for whatever reason.

Morning Mick,, morning All. Cloudy, dry and not too chilly in our corner of Somerset. Hello cally, good to see you. We know Burford Garden Centre well nankate, could easily spend half a day there. Just heard our granddaughter has a negative covid test outcome. Not sure if it’s from her first or second test but at least the family of three can now get on with life, it been a week now. Big smiles here. We’re off out for a garden centre breakfast, must get a wriggle on, best if I’m dressed. Take care everyone. Thinking of those with heavy hearts and worries of any kind.

GrannySomerset Mon 19-Oct-20 08:05:02

Dry and bright this morning but the forecast is dismal so must make the most of it. Nothing much planned though am taking DH for a scrape and polish at the dentist this afternoon. There is always the inevitable laundry of course.

Hope everyone has the best day possible and that something cheerful happens - we do rather need it.

Grandmabatty Mon 19-Oct-20 07:59:47

Good morning All from Polmont where it's been raining but appears dry at the moment. I got a nasty surprise this morning. A slug was on the inside of the kitchen door. Of all beasties, I can't stand slugs! I once tore ligaments in my ankle trying to avoid one when walking the dog. They give me the almighty grue. I managed to poke it off with a pencil onto the nat and gingerly shook the mat outside. I think it got in through the cat flap (I don't have a cat) which dgs has dislodged and I hadn't sorted. You know what my job today is, don't you? That'll be after babysitting. It'll be a busy day playing today. I'm eating out of the freezer this week so I can defrost it before Christmas. So every day is a surprise. Tonight I'm having quorn chilli. I made it for my son who is a veggie then the new rules came into force so he hasn't been in my house for a while. I'm glad you are back to normal Mick. Have a good day all.

Beauregard Mon 19-Oct-20 07:54:45

Good morning from Derbyshire where it's dry and looks like the sun might peep out from behind the clouds this morning.

We had a busy day gardening yesterday - some tidying and sorting at home, then at the veg garden I took up the French bean plants, tidied up the Brussels and picked some Broccoli and Courgettes, both of which are coming to an end now.

Today, more garden work and some washing I think. Although I'd like to fit in a trip to The Range to buy some spice jars (and possibly a rack if I see one I like) for my ever expanding stock of herbs and spices.

Good to hear news of those feeling much better today, hope others do soon. Freedom for you Ashcombe. Welcome Cally100. Bellasnana hope your DD's op goes well.

Lins What a beautiful puppy. He's melted my heart this morning! We lost our lovely girl in February and have decided not to have another for a while, but it's very tempting after being reminded what a joy they are to have around.

Hope everyone is feeling well and today is a good day.

Good morning from a breezy Leicestershire.

Welcome Cally it is so exciting becoming a Grandma.

Again nothing planned although will try to get in a walk.

Sheepandcattle Mon 19-Oct-20 07:51:09

Good morning all. Dry and mild here in Wiltshire but according to the weather forecast, wet weather starts tomorrow so the farm will soon become ‘mud, mud, glorious mud’ - my least favourite thing about winter. An exciting day ahead of me today as I’m having a rare day away from the farm and am off to Ikea and John Lewis with a friend. I’ve been checking out the Ikea website and discovered loads of bits and bobs that I never knew I needed and now realise I can’t live another day without! No doubt once I get my haul back home this evening I’ll be thinking ‘ why on earth did I buy this stuff?!!’ This will be the first ‘big shopping day’ since lockdown at the beginning of March so I’m both excited but a little wistful that it’ll be so different to pre-lockdown shopping trips. Hello to Cally100 and welcome. Wishing you all a peaceful and productive day, as free from worries as can be in these strange times.

Scentia Mon 19-Oct-20 07:48:29

Welcome Cally100. Congratulations on becoming a Gran for the first time.❤️

Elizabeth1 Mon 19-Oct-20 07:47:50

Good morning everyone hi Cally100 welcome it’s a dull dreich start to us here on the east coast of Fife and I’m sure I heard sma rain falling earlier on I wonder if DH will be going golfing today perhaps it’ll be the driving range followed by a blether and a cup of tea with his pal. Friday in Dundee was brilliant sunshine and heat as well we met up with our dd her DH our 2 wee gds where we got our lovely hugs oh so sweet. The oldest gds was very unsure whether he could hug or not he’s so sensitive the youngest was not hanging around straight in there with a choc gold coin in his mouth sooo adorable both of them. Well by gum I paid for the trip to Dundee and all the frivolity by being exhausted yesterday not to worry it’s the usual pattern I’ll be okay today if not I’ll just rest up. My dd insists on me going to see a neuro physio she’s looking for a miracle have any of you Gransnet’s experience of this what’s the difference between an ordinary physio and a neuro one. I’d love to hear your views on this one. I’ve made the appointment to make my dd happysmile keep safe everyone enjoy the day it’ll soon be yesterday virtual hugs everyone.flowers

Bellasnana Mon 19-Oct-20 07:41:43

Good morning from Malta. It was chucking it down when I got up a couple of hours ago, but it has stopped now. The dog will be pleased as he refuses to go out if it’s raining even if he’s bursting to pee!

Yesterday turned out better than expected as DD3 took me out for a bit of lunch. It was a lovely surprise , she’s such a sweetheart.

DD1 has her op today so I shall be concerned until I hear if all has gone well. With the six hour time difference I expect I shall be waiting a long time for news.

Welcome to Cally100, I often passed through Whitstable en route to visit my sister in Broadstairs.

NanKate, I never knew you were a matchmaker! What a lovely story. Hope you enjoy your meet up.

Not much planned for today. I’ve got a handyman coming to see to the wall switch connected to the tumble drier as it gets red hot if the drier is on. Obviously, I daren’t use it in case of fire, so I’m hoping it’s just the switch that is faulty rather than the drier. There’s always something.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. ☀️

That is one gorgeous little dog Lins!
