Well it's a miserable Monday weather-wise in London - very grey and gloomy but dry.

So I'm getting me togs on and heading up river!

DanniRae Tue 20-Oct-20 08:07:30

Same as yesterday.........We don't have our grandson tomorrow (mum only works 2 days) so exercise will be taken separately. Or, as far as I am concerned, not at all! smile

We have baby GS today so he will be popped in pram and we shall set off for a nice long walk we live in a very hilly area!

Another dreary start to the day - although yesterday turned out quite sunny. It's grey, wet and windy but I'm still meeting my friend at 08.30 in an attempt to kick-start my day.

Then back in time for the Ocado delivery - highlight of my week!

Onwards and upwards hmm

Probably no tennis today unless it clears up for the evening. Feeling very blue today, don’t want to see anybody or do anything.
I suppose I will force myself to get dressed an have a walk at some point.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 20-Oct-20 08:30:28

Lucca if it wasn’t for having the little one here I would probably struggle with getting up and dressed. I can feel myself getting gloomier each day. I need to give myself a good talking to, as I feel this winter is going to be very long..........

I will ride my horse. He is 25, I am 73, lucky to still be able to do it. Then I will walk the dog.

PamelaJ1 Tue 20-Oct-20 16:30:53

J52 yes we play if it’s just a bit drizzly. Today I played with DH and it was just a bit damp at the beginning. The sun came out though.
We play all winter but start a bit later in the day if it’s frosty.

Doubt I'll get any outside exercise - rain forecast for the whole flippin' day.

But I'll be doing my dance class on Zoom for the first time - don't know how that will work out but told it's do-able!

tanith Wed 21-Oct-20 10:34:53

It’s raining hard but I’ll go for my walk with boots and raincoat once my hairs dried from my shower. It’s certainly not cold today. Twinlolly well done on your swim it looks parky brrrr was it a skinny dip?

Hetty58 Wed 21-Oct-20 10:40:06

It looks like rain for most of the day. The dog and cat have gone back to bed.

Still, when I'm ready, I'm taking myself out for a stroll in the rain. Being outside cheers me up, wakes me up - and helps tone all the aching muscles I've got from gardening yesterday!

PamelaJ1 Wed 21-Oct-20 11:08:17

Definitely no tennis today, we are having lunch instead. Does that count?
Walking to the car then into the restaurant!

Calendargirl Wed 21-Oct-20 12:37:03

Been down town earlier, raining. My friend and I are due to go for our weekly walk in about half an hour, still raining.
Will have to get my pac a mac out.
We usually do about 6 or so miles, but might cut it short, will see what we decide.

Lucca Wed 21-Oct-20 13:00:14

Am slightly less of a miserable old bat today and have played tennis this morning.

Bellanonna Wed 21-Oct-20 18:31:58

Sillyoldfool, how lovely that you can still ride your faithful friend. Long may it last.

Bellanonna Wed 21-Oct-20 18:37:02

Good to hear, Lucca.
I make myself do a walk every day. I live in uninspiring suburbia unlike some of you lucky Grans, but I do have a few pleasant areas that I can drive to and i make the most of those. Today has been wet but it was less so this afternoon and I managed an hour in light drizzle around a local country park. I don’t like to miss my walk and I’m always glad afterwards. DH (limited mobility) and I are planning one on
Christmas Day. It will be short but we will enjoy it.

What an idiot I am. My first session picking up leaves only lasted half an hour. My back was aching, I was pouring with sweat, I was seriously out of puff and I only managed to clear a small area. Only 3 bin loads. I felt such a sissy having to go back in leaving my 80+ neighbour beavering away cutting back shrubs. I'll try again tomorrow but and secretly praying for rain. A lot of rain. Still it was exercise.

gorgeous long mountain walk

Riverwalk Thu 22-Oct-20 13:21:59

What a difference a day makes - today is bright & sunny and a balmy 16C.

I did a 70 minute walk in civvies, as opposed to Sweaty Betty's, and in fact got a little bit too hot as wearing a padded jacket and jeans. Ended the walk in M&S and bought too much food so had to get the bus back!

BBbevan Fri 23-Oct-20 15:07:50

Raining first thing but the sun came out about 11. DH and I went for a 90 min. walk. Most of it beside the sea along the coast path. Not very many people out, though the golf course was busy. Lockdown at 6 o’clock so I don’t know if golf clubs will be shut. They were last time .

Jane10 Fri 23-Oct-20 16:25:31

Well I found something to help in the garden that I actually could do. I can sweep leaves to clear the many steps we have outside our block of flats. They had become slippy and treacherous for our mostly older population here. I gave them a good going over and removed the mossy bits. All easy enough to sweep into the piles of leaves in the woods outside our gate.
Good exercise and with an actual function too after all my aimless walks.

I'm being a lazy goose today - just can't get my mojo on!

My excuse is the forecast was for rain and the sky was very dark so I've been faffing around all morning doing nothing very much.

But I feel an urge to go out so there's hope yet!

Grannybags Sat 24-Oct-20 12:00:58

Just got back from a very windy and slightly drizzly walk so feeling rather smug Might have a piece of cake as a reward now......! ?

Jaxjacky Sat 24-Oct-20 12:01:20

Windy and wet, but have a slot booked at the tip this afternoon, so up the allotment for bags of weeds to take up..?

MawB2 Sat 24-Oct-20 12:14:40
