Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its wet here in Brackley this morning .
Yesterday did not happen for me , I started to blackout ,and came over with a cold sweat , so relaxed in the chair and watched Tv and watched the cycle races unfold.
I am going to take a break in routine ,and slowly get myself back to normal I hope .
I am on medication for angina etc but take it easy .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is very wet and windy so no jobs in the garden today.
Yesterday’s visit to the bathroom showrooms was successful. We were the only customers with one salesman and all precautions were observed. Have chosen virtually everything from the one visit which is great. Bathroom fitter booked for the middle of November, but will wait to see what the Covid situation is like nearer the time before we finally decide to go ahead.
A day of watercolour painting and jigsaw making beckons. I will add my encouragement to Mick to have a chat with your GP just as reassurance. Happy birthday Grandmasue. Hope everyone with illnesses, insomnia and worries has a reasonable day. Watch those keyholes Urms! Have a good Wednesday. Stay safe

A Very Happy Birthday Grandmasue x flowers Enjoy your day.

Pant, Cydonia is the scientific name - all Greek to me. Membrillo isn’t just the fruit in Spanish as far as I can tell, in Argentina, they called the jam membrillo too. A national dish, they Had it with everything, even stuffed churros with it!

EllanVannin Wed 21-Oct-20 09:31:07

Been looking through keyholes again Urmston ? grin

You must be a bit run down girl, so carry on with the bathing. Once upon a time Boracic acid powder was used in eye baths, this was in the 40's/50's. These things have changed so much it's probably in lavatory cleaner now shock

Pantglas2 Wed 21-Oct-20 09:20:34

Popping back in to say welcome back to Hattie (& Maw?) and wish GrandMaSue a happy birthday ?

Membrillo! That was the Spanish word for quince I couldn’t remember grammaretto!

It was kydoni in Greek and the old chap who gave them to me couldn’t speak English so a lot of miming and gesticulating went on when I returned with a pot of jelly!

Happy birthday Grandmasue, have a lovely day flowers xx

Good morning everyone from a very wet Malaga. It chucked it down during the night. Sun is trying to shine though I think more rain is forecast between now & Friday.

I’ve had a slightly sore eye for a day or two and had to get up in the night to take some paracetamol. I have a red swollen eyelid this morning and a stye. I’ve never had one before so I just googled ‘stye NHS’ and apparently I should bathe it in warm water a few times a day and take paracetamol. Ouchy!

No plans today (apart from eye baths ha!). I’m late up so I will drink my second cuppa and catch up on all your news.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

A dismal start to the day in North Somerset but at least not such an early start as yesterday when my driver education course on Zoom started ar 7.45 am, a real shock to the system. The course leader managed nine of us, only two female, very effectively though I was horrified to realise that I have been driving since before the others were born. Ouch! Definitely worth doing and means no points on my licence.

Trip to the dental hygienist the main feature of today and indoor inactivity definitely called for.

Good to have Maw and Hattie back and I hope Mick takes heed of the good advice. Hope we all have the best day we can.

Good morning from a drizzly Morecambe Bay where DH is out running leaving me in bed with my iPad and a bucket of tea.
Happy birthday Grandmasue. Enjoy your day.
Mick do take it easy and get checked out.
Glad to hear Mr Kitty is ok
I’m not sure what today holds as today is forecast showery. Maybe a bit of gardening here so we can run in and out if necessary. Otherwise maybe some sewing or crochet. When DH comes in the first thing he will say is “Are you exercising today?” it’s definitely a no as I need to recover from all the walking we ended up doing yesterday.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good Morning All x.
Darkish, damp but mild and calm. Winter draws on !

Mick you should be tested. Make an appointment to discount this virus for starters as symptoms vary in each individual.

My heart goes out to all cancer sufferers who are scared to attend hospitals for their vital treatments/ initial diagnosis. I watched the news from the Christie hospital and it's truly heartbreaking. For their sakes we must all be mindful of the way we conduct ourselves in these times and count our blessings. I don't worry about not seeing/ speaking to a soul----they can't !

I must phone a heating engineer today as when I turned the thing off, it didn't obey me and carried on " overheating " with the water coming out of the tap absolutely boiling so not good. Radiators red hot too. This was at 10.30pm last night as I was getting ready for bed and I was all of a fluster in case it blew up or something. It's not even been in for 12 months yet. I hate things like this !

Time to cut the talons because one of them has split and I don't want them looking like missing teeth grin It's with wearing rubber gloves that softens the nails and if one bends, you've had it. I should worry, eh ?

Saw egg and chips mentioned on another thread, so that'll be my meal of the day---haven't had that for ages being a full dinner person that I am so it'll make a change.

Some tidying and " disinfecting " to do in case an engineer calls today then a wipe around when he's gone as I don't have any contact with anyone either inside or outside so I become more susceptible to any germs floating about----which isn't how I like to live really, nor agree with either.

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone ( another tier 3 ) stay safe one and all with thoughts to our friends xx

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Maple is spot on with our South Yorkshire weather. Mick sorry to hear you are feeling poorly - these are wise grans; run it past your GP pronto! Can’t have you out of commission.
Not a lot on the cards for us today that doesn’t involve a duster or a vacuum cleaner. My DVT flare up has settled down thankfully (hopefully!) but a light diet for me today.
Happy birthday Grandmasue; have a lovely day!??
Have a good safe day folks.

MawB2 Wed 21-Oct-20 09:06:59

And thank you for the many kind and supportive messages to the Doghouse ? and Happy Birthday Grandmasue and all the birthday people I missed! flowers

MawB2 Wed 21-Oct-20 09:04:59

Good morning all from soggy N Bucks.
It’s strange but nice to be no longer incommunicado as you can imagine how frustrating it was to read your posts but not be able to comment. ???????
Blessed peace some of you might say!
I’m glad yesterday was a nice day and Hattie and I could get out for a walk, as it might be more like a swim today.
Not sure what my plans are, a friend suggested last week we might treat ourselves to lunch at Brasserie Blanc as she has the discount code, but I have heard no more since then so maybe...maybe not.
Mick please at least speak to a Dr or your diabetic nurse, there may be no cause for alarm but now is not the time to let it get to the point of being serious.
Wishing you all, wherever you are, a pleasant day.

Good morning all, we have a very watery looking sky here in South Lanarkshire but there’s a wee patch of blue to the east.

Mick please take heed of everyone’s concerns, take care.

Love the image of a gentle stroll with the flock sheepandcattle, conjured up by your description.

This afternoon we’ll be off to DD’s to do the school run and look after her brood till she finishes work.

Look after yourselves and have the best day you can.

Mapleleaf Wed 21-Oct-20 08:39:08

Morning everyone,

It's grey and dismal here in South Yorkshire this morning.

mick sorry to read that you are feeling unwell. Please take the advice of fellow GM's and contact your surgery. You were not too well on Monday I think it was, so maybe the two things are connected. Seek advice.

Happy birthday Grandmasue ????. Enjoy your day.

I hope that today is as good as it can be for everyone. Take care.

dragonfly46 Wed 21-Oct-20 08:36:22

Good morning very wet here in Leicestershire as kitty says - not sure how you got your Sainsbury Christmas Slot. I have had an email to say I can book mine next month as I have a priority pass.

Yes Mick definitely speak to the doctor.

Sainsbury delivery today then NWR Zoom this evening.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Grammaretto Wed 21-Oct-20 08:34:40

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Men have just arrived to work on my roof and said it's to be a good day today. Between their endorsement and yours on here whose do I choose?
I hope once you've rested Mick you can let someone know about your turn yesterday.

DH has another hospital appointment today.

Ah Quince jelly! Membrillo, divine. I have even ordered a bush or tree which should arrive soon.

Hope you all have a happy day.
