Hi all,
I am wearing the attached dress on Christmas day, with ankle boots, 100 denier black tights, a decorative belt and a shoulder bag. I hadn't thought about a jacket but I now wonder if I should have a jacket or wrap or something. What do you think?
Best wishes,
FH x

Mum watches the briefing then tells me. I usually watch these briefings. Very very funny (and also sweary). X

Maw and Bluebelle, to answer your question, if you click on the word in blue on FH's post, it takes you to a You Tube video. That's a hyperlink, embedded in text. Not everyone knows how to do that!

Brilliant thread FH You are certainly doing your bit to give us a laugh. I love the idea of you living in a little known village an hour’s drive from Glasgow because you could be my neighbour.

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 12:12:58

Or mine! grin

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 12:16:53

Marydoll, thanks. This is the formula Gransnet gives, using a Gransnet link as an example. X

NB: you don't do a space between the square brackets and the link or the text. I've done this to show you without it converting. X

Parsley3, I love my town as, although it's big enough for 30+ shops, big and small, it's small enough that you know everyone and can get the gossip from them. X

Parsley3 Fri 23-Oct-20 12:21:49

Where is it?

BlueSky Fri 23-Oct-20 12:24:40

Thanks FH! Interesting how to do a link cheers! ?

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 12:28:21

Parsley3, I'm not saying. X
BlueSky, you're welcome. X

Parsley3

Where is it?

It’s about an hour from Glasgow, FH once said but “nobody has ever heard of it “ despite being big enough for 30 shops.

I find that hard to believe FH especially with Grans all over Scotland !
You may find your neighbours are members of GN for all you know!

Parsley3 Fri 23-Oct-20 12:47:38

Oh, now, which one to pick for my Christmas kneesup?

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 13:03:42

Maw, if you live an hour from Glasgow, I'm afraid it doesn't count as being from Glasgow.
You need a G in your postcode, as I have.

BlueBelle Fri 23-Oct-20 13:45:14

Perhaps she’s your next door neighbour * marydoll* ???

BlueBelle Fri 23-Oct-20 13:46:00

Whoops read that wrong she’s not your neighbour marydoll hahaha

Thanks for those delightfully tasteful dresses ...the one with the pregnant lady with boobs about to pop out is particularly classy...

However, didn’t mean to distract from your thread FH , so revenons à nos moutons as they say (back to the subject) smile
You will love the alpaca farm if it is the one I am thinking of. I wonder if Marleen is still there?
If it is the one at Fenwick I haven’t been there but I am sure it is every it as good.

That made me smile ! my French teacher used to say that! When I said to my students they thought I had finally lost the plot

Callistemon Fri 23-Oct-20 14:19:03

I'm going for the Bershka puff sleeve faux leather dress in black.
At my age I need to cover the tops of my arms.

Lucca Fri 23-Oct-20 14:24:08

Oh Callistemon that’s perfect. Shame you weren’t holidaying in Oz, you would have fitted right in with the bogans

BlueBelle Fri 23-Oct-20 14:32:20

You forgot the whip callistermon

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 14:45:15

EV your hairnet comment made me laugh out loud.

Callistemon I cover the tops of my arms by lying on my back.

toscalily Fri 23-Oct-20 14:45:21

Short dresses & clumpy boots always make me think of Minnie Mouse.

petra Fri 23-Oct-20 14:53:41

Callistamon PMSL.
I Think I'll go for the complete tart look. No messing.https://www.asos.com/topshop/topshop-twist-front-mini-dress-in-green/prd/22196790?colourwayid=60380723&SearchQuery=&cid=11057

Honestly, my first thought was of Rose from Keeping up Appearances. You know, Hyacinth's sister?
My second thought, is that it would be nice to be so slim.
My third thought is that it's not very Christmassy.

But if you like it and feel comfortable in it, that is all that matters. No one else matters! Just do what makes you happy and don't worry what others are thinking.

Callistemon Fri 23-Oct-20 15:08:45

Lucca how very dare you! My family are all ockers, but.

Callistemon Fri 23-Oct-20 15:10:19

It needs a bit of red, * FH*. After all, this is Chrietmas.

A red feather boa?
