Hope the weather has calmed down in your corner of the world soop although I bet the sea was spectacular?

We had a lovely day yesterday.We had booked to go on the Statesman on the Carlisle/Settle circular.We had been sure it would be cancelled but it went ahead.The train was very Covid safe,screens between each set of seats,sanitiser everywhere!The scenery was spectacular and it was lovely seeing Yorkshire and Cumbria,two places we love.The weather was mixed so difficult to get any decent photographs.

Grandmabatty MacSporran went out to tie back a shrub that was hitting on a window. He couldn't stand up long enough to perform the task. Was blown backwards towards our front doo. I yanked him inside. No ferries sailing. Enormous waves. Spume floating across the beach.

kitty Please, not more scary news from Boris. I must away to catch up. Just when you think that things can't get worse...

What sad news dragonfly. Does anyone else find that sort of news seems so much worse nowadays?

We went to see DD1 and co today. We intended to sit in the garden but it threw it down so we sat in the kitchen with all the windows and doors open. It was perishing but dry.

Off to make tea to sustain us!!

It's fairly windy in gusts Soop in Polmont. My dwarf sized Narnia lampposts have had to be moved. I'm working up to ironing. To be fair, it's only me and I don't iron everything. Today was food shopping and housework day. I bought dome fun siz chocolate bars in case the three wee boys across the road come guising. I know they shouldn't but I won't open the door for anyone else. If they don't, then I'll hand some over. Have a good day all. Stay safe.

Grandmabatty I'm sorry that your ghostly experience has come to an end. I would have enjoyed further chapters. Well written.

It is hellishly blowy outside these four walls. A huge, white capped sea crashing on the shingle. We've lost internet connection half a dozen times since logging on. I'm anxious that this message reaches our kitchen without delay.

What sad news Soop. Somehow it seems to be worse in theses times.
My friend's son's girlfriend has just been diagnosed with a tumour on her spine - she is 23 with a baby. They are checking to see if it has gone to her brain if not they can hopefully operate. So many sad tales around.

I was convinced they were going to cancel my radiotherapy next week again so when they called yesterday from the radiotherapy department I was a little worried. However, it was just to run me through what will happen on Monday and for the next three weeks and to answer any questions. She said they wouldn't cancel even if I had Covid! Again thank you NHS!

Pleased to hear that Cherry will be back soon we miss her in the Lockdown Gang!

Last episode of the ghost story.
... As my name was whispered in my ear, the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. I couldn't bring myself to turn round to see what might be there so I gathered my courage and walked smartly towards June's room. I felt that at least I could help her move the desks as it sounded like she was moving everything around. However, as I put my hand on the door, the noise stopped. The door was locked and June was nowhere to be seen. I turned round, facing the way I had come and every light switched itself off one by one by one, starting at the fire doors and moving closer to where I stood, dumbstruck. I took to my heels and ran heedlessly along the corridor, turned the corner, and half fell down the stairs. Trembling, I reached outside and looked up towards June's classroom on the first floor. No light was on, but an indistinct shape could just be made out.
The end.
Some of this happened, most of it I've made up. Don't have nightmares.

Nannytopsy GGIFA, and so it is. Is something we say every Friday as we sup the early morning brew. What's more, it's a late-ish night AND I have a G&T at 9 o'clock.

GrannySomerset I too would have rescued, loved, fed, protected and given the most wonderful home to Oliver. I really am missing the wonderful animals who somehow found their way to our door and into our hearts. Sigh.

A somewhat mixed bag of a day. Sunshine and showers, some blustery. I'm away to read the paper and attempt to complete the crossword.

I am enjoying the kitten stories. We had a wonderful ginger cat rescued by me from a coal shed; our resident tabby had been used to eating a mouthful or two and then returning later for a little more. The arrival of a starving rival was a terrible shock to her system, and led to the newcomer being called Oliver because he was always asking for more. We had fourteen happy years with him despite the vet saying he really wasn’t worth saving - worms, fleas and rickets. We knew better!

DGD1 has had a series of guinea pigs which we now realise are more for DD’s benefit than hers. A small furry on the knee makes even the most difficult day tolerable.

Nannytopsy Over the weeks and months since Covid created mayhem, we've all been doing our best to cope and remain upbeat. There are days when I really struggle to get out of bed. Today, we've been for a long walk. Didn't meet another soul. Home again and enjoying lunch. I keep repeating to myself - you have so much for which to grateful.

I enjoyed hearing about the ginger kitten Sandy. ?

Many years ago, our new ginger kitten was nowhere to be seen. The children were distraught and I was apprehensive. We were all out round the village asking neighbours if they'd seen a small ginger kitten. No luck! Then I reminded DS2 that he had some homework to finish and what (or whom) should he find in his schoolbag but Sandy the kitten, having a nice long snooze. After a sigh of relief, we had to laugh. Sandy had a long and comfortable life, along with his companion, Sam.

I have heard from Cherry.She will be back when she can.

I am very slowly working on a jacket for DGD - where has my impetus gone?!
I have some vine weevils in two of my pots ?. You know that moment when you touch a plant and it falls over? Something I have bought was infected which is a real pain.
We have a local alert for Covid in our nearest town, but it is 10 miles away. I think we may withdraw into our shells a bit.

Another one here enjoying your ghost story grandmabatty, my Mum was always convinced she had seen several,ghosts, she wasn’t a bit scared so neither was I.

One of our daughters in law is isolating after being in close contact with a child who is unwell and has tested positive. T&T did it’s stuff. She’s half way through the 14 days now, incredibly frustrated and worried for her own family in equal parts. Suspect most of us will be in her situation before the virus lets go.

Having slept not at all last night I snoozed the afternoon away. Feel almost human now and hope to do better tonight.
