Good morning Mick and the rest of the gang! It’s a cold and clear one here in Torbay.

Mick: you are well ahead of the Christmas preparation game and I believe that Christmas stamps should have been in Post Offices from the beginning of this week.

Happy birthday, Greyduster! I hope you have a lovely day.

Beechnut: my family too are all at least 200 miles away with one daughter in Australia! However, I have a good friend locally with whom I’m forming a support bubble which is permitted under current new rules. We can visit each other's homes or even stay overnight, if we choose, so would that be a possibility for you?

Sar53: what a magnificent birthday cake! Wow!

My hairdresser is working long days to try to accommodate as many regulars as possible so I’m delighted to be having a cut and colour today. I'd been thinking of making an appointment so I'm lucky. I’m taking a few boxes of snack bars for the staff because I expect they’ll barely have time to eat!

Wishing everyone all the best, not least our friends over the pond!

kittylester are you going to continue to have your cleaner during this lockdown ? I think it is allowed under the guidelines. My ladies are here first thing, I do hope I have got it right as I haven’t the heart for housework at the moment.

Good morning Mick and all

You are organised Mick

Happy Birthday Greyduster ??

Starting to brighten up here in my corner of S E Essex, I am off to have a manicure and pedicure at lunchtime and then go to the two independent gift shops at the other end of my road before they close for a month. Not sure if they will re-open this time, so sad.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Good morning from Malta where the weather is lovely.

Happy birthday Greyduster hope you enjoy your celebratory lunch.

Had a panic yesterday when I discovered my purse wasn’t in my handbag! Couldn’t think when I had last used it as I generally pay by card which I keep separate. Was on my way to report it at the police station when I thought I would just ask in my local shop. Sure enough, they had found it on the floor last Friday and had it safely in a drawer. Restored my faith in human nature.

I’m thinking of my sister today as it is fourteen years since she died aged 54. In some ways it seems longer than that. We three sisters were so close, it’s hard being without them both.

NanKate yes, I managed to find the tennis on the French Eurosport channel! I watched Tsitsipas losing his match and I shall be tuned in for Rafa later. They said it won’t be before 6.30 our time, (Apologies to non-tennis fans).

Hope everyone has the best day possible.☀️

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire.

Many happy returns of the day gd. Enjoy your lunch. You dont look a day over 73! flowers

A fairly busy day in prospect in the Lester house today.

Our cleaner will be here at 9.15 - she is a real find - young, energetic and she has a programme for all the houses ashe cleans.

I also have a volunteering zoom session and then we are having a man coming to look at providing cctv cameras.

Have the best day you can all.

Good morning everyone from a cold but bright Essex by the sea.
Happy Birthday Greyduster, have a lovely day.
One of my granddaughters is 9 next week, so my daughter hastily arranged a birthday tea, along with a magnificent Harry Potter themed cake , for yesterday . So glad she didn't miss out .
Our car is finally going in for repair this morning and DH is having a last meet up with his mates this afternoon. I think I will go out for a walk later if the sun shines.
Have a pleasant Wednesday and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I’ve no idea what the South Yorkshire weather is doing - it’s still dark. DH got up at some ridiculous hour to watch the US election and I couldn’t get back to sleep so I feel as if I have been awake forever! Today is my three score years and fourteen birthday and we are going out for a pre-lockdown lunch. Hope we’ll see the family later, if only at a distance! Have a good safe day folks.

Good Morning from frosty Severnside.
You are on the ball with your Christmas shop Mick. Care to do mine ?

I’d like to have a trip out today and gather up a few things that will come in handy to keep me occupied in the coming weeks. Life is going to be very different for me for a while as I won’t be having face to face real time conversation with anyone for a while. My DD and I don’t live close enough to each other to just pop in. Not to worry, other people have things far worse in their lives.

Take care all and stay safe ?

grandMattie Wed 04-Nov-20 06:19:39

Good morning from a clear dry E Kent. Yesterday, the wind and squalls made for a really chilly and nasty day.
Early results on US elections are interesting. Whoever has the fewer number of votes will contest the knife-edge results.
Just a Zoom cookery course this evening, making a Lebanese dinner. Sounds delicious, but then I love all Middle Eastern food,
Last day before newest incarceration - must keep the old chin up. If it were possible to keep youngsters and the economy going, I would gladly stay in for months. But it’s never going to happen, so I feel resentful instead.
Have a cheerful day everyone. Stay safe.
