DH has a dental appointment for 11.45 am and has been up and driving me mad since 7.00 am. I think I shall stop telling him things in advance, because he obsesses and with no real sense of time is wanting to set off hours (and on occasion days) too soon. Grrr!

Lovely bright cold morning but as I planted the last of the tulip bulbs yesterday don’t really have much I need to do. Towels doing their thing in the new washing machine and batch cooking for the freezer beckons.

Lots of news on the thread this morning, and hoping that we all, especially Marydoll, have a good day.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton, but it's feeling chilly. Late posting as I couldn't get Wi-Fi on any device, so have had to reboot the system; all seems ok now.

A chicken casserole to put in the slow cooker this morning, then await the Sainsbury's order this afternoon.

There was no way of salvaging my teapot yesterday, as it was a rather nice Bodum glass one, so sorry to lose it.

No other plans, perhaps a walk to squeeze in. Hope the day is kind to us all.

Good Morning from a bright and sunny Black Country, albeit a tad chilly!

I didn't wake up until 8.00am which is most unusual. It must have been the effects of the lovely walk yesterday along the Staffordshire and Wolverhampton Canal. I always marvel how close to nature we can be in minutes here. Still the lovely Autumnal colours as in attached photo.

Was out at 9 to get on top of the weeds on the drive, now it will be a day of relaxing and reading I think.

Thank you for that recipe Grandmattie I have already copied it and will give it a try.

Welcome ixion I hope you enjoy this lovely thread.

Wishing you all a good day, with love and thoughts of gilly

Good Morning to you all from a bright, sunny but chilly Cambs.,
Belated Birthday wishes to Greyduster. ( 1946 was a very good year).!

Yesterday we went to our little "home-from-home" on the NW Norfolk coast, sadly packing up for the winter shut down, what a short summer season that was.!!
On our journey there, it was lovely to see the autumn colours in the sunshine, the traffic was OK going. BUT, although we left before 3pm, the trek home was long & jam packed. I think others were doing the same as us, or had been out shopping or doing "stuff" before lockdown. our 55 mile trip home took twice as long.!

Good wishes for your continuing treatment dragonfly.

Good morning all, from Malta where it is another beautiful day. Hard to believe it’s November.

You are all very busy this morning, I can’t keep up! I do feel for you Mick, it is a pity you will have to put your trips out on hold for now.

Best of luck dragonfly, I’m glad you are not having any side effects. I remember my sister feeling terribly tired after radiotherapy but I guess everyone is different.

Thanks to all who commented yesterday, your kindness certainly bucked me up and made me very grateful for you all.flowers

Well done with your cooking, grandMattie. I don’t eat meat but the dessert sounds delicious.

aggie I do hope your GD’s wrist will be ok and not broken. What a worry.

I’ve done my aerobics, plus a few odd jobs, and am now watching the tennis from Paris. Last night’s match had me on the edge of my seat and a few choice words were yelled at the tv, but Rafa triumphed despite losing the first set. I’m wondering what you thought of his attire, NanKate? I’m still not decided!?

Maw’s mention of soup has reminded me that I bought veg specifically for that purpose so I shall get going on that.

Take care all, I hope you cope with the new restrictions as best you can, and have the best day possible.☀️

Morning, lovely and bright here but v cold. Housework first thing, then off for weekly ‘mind’ of year old grandchild. He’s such a joy and we’ll hopefully get out for a walk in the sunshine.
Exciting delivery expected later today-a foldable exercise bike. Aquafit cancelled again for obvs reasons so I thought I’d take matters in hand and be more proactive. All DH did when I told him was sniggerhmm. He’ll laugh the other side of his face when I’m back to my size 12 of 40 years ago- I wish!
Best wishes to all and hope we have as good a day as is possible wherever we are.sunshine

Blossoming Thu 05-Nov-20 10:23:39

Good morning all, grey skies in Lancashire today, but at least it’s dry. Waiting for a delivery, will try to go for a walk after lunch but no plans other than that.

Hope everyone is safe and well, or on the mend.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dull Greater Manchester.
I've been trying for months to get the local council to pick up an old sofa that we've had in the conservatory since March. Every day I've been online first thing only to be told the slots for sofas are booked up, try again tomorrow. At last it will be picked up at the end of the month.
A bit of pootling and faffing today, only plan is shepherd's pie for dinner this evening.
Hope everyone with ills or worries has as peaceful a day as possible. Stay safe flowers

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we had a spectacular thunderstorm last night (looked great over the sea!) and heavy rain this morning - so no WiFi signal. That irritating little wheel just kept on whirring ...

Anyway the rain has stopped and we are in Juan’s for breakfast. I’ve just prepped a chicken curry (jar of sauce) in the slow cooker for tonight. #lazygran

I downloaded a new novel ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ on my kindle yesterday. You don’t even have to particularly understand chess to race through this pacy story. I can’t put it down! I shall finish it today I’m sure.

I will read through all your posts now. I hope Thursday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

HAZBEEN Thu 05-Nov-20 10:57:39

Good morning all!
Well yesterdays phone call was good. My count has come down so this treatment has started to work! We have agreed that I will stay on the same dosage for now and she will monitor me every few weeks. My new prescription will hopefully be ready for pick up at the hospital tomorrow.
Still haven't done the ironing! But I did manage to get a few other things done (anything to avoid that pile!)
First day and judging by the traffic going past not a lot has changed.
Thank you for the good wishes. its lovely to know I have virtual friends and I am not so alone.
Good thought, love and hugs to all who need them.

Marydoll Thu 05-Nov-20 11:01:47

Good news indeed, HAZBEEN !! Now get that ironing done.

CherryCezzy Thu 05-Nov-20 11:05:28

Good morning everyone. Sunny day again here in the Gower.

It's taken me twice as long to get going this morning and three times as long to read through everyone's busy goings on ?

I've noticed that there seem to be more and more lovely GNs who have family members who either have or have had this dratted virus or like *Susan's daughter's in laws have to isolate because they have come into contact with someone who has it. Sending ? to you all.

Baubles ? Life may seem boring but our spirits will be soaring when this pesky virus meets it's end ?

There are some fabulous photos on here this morning ☺️, Maw the pleasure on your DGS's face is delightful ?.

Just think that after tomorrow you'll be a third of the way through your treatment dragonfly ?

After yesterday's afternoon spent frantically cleaning (not quite sure why ?) there's not much to actually do today except a bit of pottering in the garden.
I don't actually fancy what I'd planned to do for dinner tonight so we may end up with a takeaway ?

Sending you a gentle cwtch Grammaretto.

Please stay safe everyone and be kind to yourselves ❤️

Georgesgran Thu 05-Nov-20 11:09:46

Good morning from Durham. A drab start, but brighter now. Not a lot planned - no dogs today to keep me occupied. Ironing lady has included 2 shirts in my delivery which aren’t ours - no-one has )as yet) reported them missing, so they may end up in the Charity bag eventually.
Garden Centres still open so might get some Autumn lawn dressing later.

Hope everyone has the best day today. X

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-Nov-20 11:10:09

Good news HAZBEEN

Urmstongran The Queens Gambit has been made into a TV series it’s on Netflix or Prime, sorry can’t remember which one.

Feelingmyage55 Thu 05-Nov-20 11:12:01

Thank you grandMattie. I have sumac and Biharat! How lucky. In fact all the ingredients. Chicken defrosting.

Urmstongran Thu 05-Nov-20 11:19:18

Love the photo NannyJan what a beautiful autumn scene. England at its finest!

Welcome to you inion - ? - you forgot to tell us all the value of your house? Important stuff like that.

Joke!
?

Urmstongran Thu 05-Nov-20 11:23:26

Ah. Kind of you GG13 to let me know. However I don’t subscribe to either so the Kindle will have to suffice!
?

Himself has just ordered more coffee and his Glasgow mate has just bobbed his head in to say ‘are you coming to watch the Rangers game in the bar tonight? Starts at 7pm so we can be back up easily before curfew’.

Chicken curry early then ....
??

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate! grandMattie that does sound like quite something of a meal - Wow. Unfortunately it would not impress my DH (it doesn't have chips)! Tuesday i had a hospital appointment and decided to kill two birds with one stone, thought I would buy my Xmas cards from the ambulance station. There was one guy there and I don't think he would have noticed me if I'd stripped naked!! So went home without. Yesterday decided to see if I could walk into town (it's less than a mile, but mainly uphill). Stopped for a coffee at Debenhams, got some cards in Oxfam, went to Boots for a purchase then walked home!! only one hill home so it was a doddle. Had GD after school, she was tired (she shouldn't wake up at 5 am!!). She still found the energy to drapes my scarves all over the room - which I have still to put away. Tonight a Zoom painting night with my art club

Stay safe everyone and hope your troubles will disappear!

dragonfly46 Thu 05-Nov-20 11:42:01

Hazbeen that is great news. Forget the ironing!

Looking forward to Saturday dinner Grandmattie I have just ordered all the ingredients from Sainsbury for my delivery tomorrow!!

Welcome Inion

CherryCezzy Thu 05-Nov-20 11:53:57

Thank you Feelingmyage ☺️

Welcome Inion ?

Great news HAZBEEN ?, I agree with dragonfly forget the ironing!

Quilty Thu 05-Nov-20 11:54:45

Hello from a sunny West Wales. As you 'English folk' enter lockdown Mk2, we 'welshies' are looking forward to our lockdown being lifted- though I am confused as to who we can meet and where etc etc!!!

To clear my head I think I'll go out and clean the windows.
Stay safe all.

Nannytopsy Thu 05-Nov-20 12:34:25

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Great news Hazbeen & Dragonfly - keep it up ladies.
Thank you grandMattie for the recipe - I will try to get hold of the ingredients.
It looks like I will have to go for a serious diet now - my arthritis is moderate to severe and the GP is already talking about a TKR in the fullness of time. I can't believe how quickly it deteriorated. Ho hum!
Suffolk is beautiful at the moment and the weather is fine, if not completely sunny.
Look after yourselves.

Auntieflo Thu 05-Nov-20 12:42:55

Another late Good morning to Mick, Annie, and all.
It was quite foggy/misty this morning earlier on, but has now cleared and the sun is out.
DH had his final hormone implant/ injection this morning, so after two years, we hope he will not have to have any more.
I had a trip to the bank, to ask about unidentified credits, no luck.
As I was in town, I popped to Waitrose, but there was quite a queue, and so decided that I didn't need anything that urgently . Came home and had a lovely mug of coffee.
I shall do some sewing later, and then look for a pattern to knit GGS a jumper. It will grow much faster than the one I made for myself recently.
Grandmattie, thanks for posting the recipe. It sounds lovely, and I will have a go at making it sometime soon.
Well, the washing has finished churning, so will go and empty the machine, then think about some lunch, and what to have for dinner tonight.
Thinking of our Gilly and hope she and her family are OK
Have a good day one and all.

HAZBEEN Thu 05-Nov-20 13:03:48

I gave in and did the ironing! Now I need a lie down!!
