Good Morning.
Grandmattie your cooking sounds delicious!
Not at work today as I am taking my Dad to a hospital appointment.
Mum has had a mini stroke and is not driving.
Dragonfly glad to hear it is ok so far

Good Morning Thursday
(77 Posts)Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark but its dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning .
Start of Lockdown , I will sit out for the 4 weeks , do local shops and get my prescriptions ,
I have prepared ready made meals in freezer for such a purpose.
But its downside of where I have been able to meet up with people I know ,and formed that social link that has all gone all be it for 4 weeks , mind still have friends via the phone as well .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s damp but mildish here in South Lanarkshire. You sound very organised Mick.
I’m going to look up that delicious sounding recipe grandMattie, I think we’d both enjoy it.
Picked up the DGDs from the school bus yesterday, they kept me amused with their chat on the walk to their house.
Not much happening here, I feel that I’m becoming rather boring as my world dwindles.
Sending best wishes to everyone going into lockdown today and to those coping with illness and worries. Look after yourselves.
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, cold and a slight frost this morning.
I will have to brave a supermarket shop today as I couldn’t get a click and collect or delivery when I tried on Tuesday for at least a week.
I will order some craft materials online and set to making some Christmas Cards this week. I will also make crackers.
DD has a scan this morning, hopefully her little one is playing ball this time and daddy gets a glimpse of him/her. It is not often the appointments fall when he is home.
I have only skimmed the posts so far so I will sit with my tea later and read what you have all been up to. Take care my GM friends and stay safe.
I’ll try to write the recipe down and post it later - got a fairly busy morning. Walk round little town, Spanish for two hours...
Morning all from a dry north Wales where I’m waiting on LauraNorder for an update on island weather......???
Belated birthday wishes to Greyduster ?? and that meal would’ve been my ideal celebration GrandMattie- perhaps you could open a recipe thread for us salivators ?!
Mince pie making day is upon me - I’m later than usual which DH harps on about, reckons he’s been furloughed as Official Taster!
Have a good day everyone x
Good morning from Shropshire.
Looking after our DGS today.A busy week for us as our younger daughters in laws are isolating as they have been in contact with a friend who tested positive for Covid. This means we are doing their days as well.Their first week of isolation coincided with half term so DD and SIL were at home so only one very busy week for us?
Also going to cancel Sky today. This decision has taken DH about 12 months to make.We have Prime and Apple TV so really don’t need Sky.
Thinking of Grammaretto and her DH.
Hope you had a good night Cherry and dragonfly I hope the treatment is going well.
Mary, hopefully things will improve by next year and it will be safe for you to attend hospital???
Have a good day all and stay safe.
Good morning all from a breezy but mild ne. Work later and praying it will stay open again. Had lovely early night reading Erica James letters from the past enjoying it. Thinking of online shopping again just got use to my freedom of Aldi again! Hope all well.
Good morning from an overcast but dry NE, it is quite mild for November.
Sainsbury's order this morning, hoping the chocolates will be available so that I can pack my sister's birthday parcel and send it to Germany.
My other sister says she is going to deliver soup to the doorstep today, she has had a lot of tomatoes in the garden this year and she makes tomato and red pepper soup.
Ordered Christmas cards online last night. This years card list will be a lot shorter than last year.
Have a safe bonfire night.
Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
Will take DH out for a walk this morning then radiotherapy this afternoon. No I’ll effects so far! I am hoping it is quieter on the roads. It was very busy yesterday with last minute shoppers. It doesn’t help that the hospital is in the middle of the city.
That meal sounds lovely Grandmattie would love the recipe.
Where is Mellowyellow I am wondering.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. It looks like frost on the cars so a cold start to the day.
No plans today, we are without a car, so will probably go for a brisk walk along the sea path.
I am making small cross Stitch pictures for 6 granddaughters so will continue with those this afternoon.
Have the best, 1st day of lockdown, you can, well if you live in England.
for those with worries. Take care and stay safe everyone from
Morning Mick and All.
A thick cold mist in the valley here in South Bucks.
Surprisingly I feel I can cope better with the Lockdown this time around, that is if it is only for one month. I will have to check again but it looks as if my local NT Gardens and take away cafe are still open, which is a change from last time.
Keep going folks the count down starts today.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and a dry day is forecast for later
Such a shame mick that you can’t carry on with your usual routine, you did really well in getting so organised these last few days. I hope you get lots of contact with your friends via the phone
Yummy grandmattie that really does sound so delicious, well done with the cooking via zoom too
Today we’re doing the school pick up and then giving the DGC their tea before they go home later. They asked for home made pizza so that’s nice and easy and they’ll help with it too.
I’ve just discovered how good the Aldi chocolate is feelingmyage , I really like the one with the caramel type filling, can’t resist it!
Hope everyone facing the tougher lockdown restrictions feel ok today and have something to enjoy, stay safe everyone whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay. We are off to Keswick to put the garden there to bed so I need to get ready and get off so we get a full day in. I’ll read and catch up this evening. Take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning to you all from a frosty Torbay!
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to secure a last minute appointment at my hairdresser's where the salon staff worked long hours for three days to see as many clients as possible. I’ve had my hair cut a little shorter than usual in anticipation of a prolonged lockdown. (I hope I’m wrong!)
Mick: if you have any single friends you can agree to form a support bubble, enabling you to visit each other at home. This is a change from the previous lockdown.
It’s interesting to read about the various food items folk are enjoying. With the lockdown and colder weather, good food is a great comfort so thank you, grandMattie, for your delicious sounding meal! Humour too is welcome, so thank you, Beechnut (and Alexa!)
Well, we survived the last lockdown so let’s hope the virus subsides sufficiently to enable the lockdown to be lifted next month.
Take care, everyone and thanks to Mick and all contributors for this gentle start to each day. ?
Good morning from a dark Glasgow, its quite mild at 11°.
No real plans for today, as I'm restricted in what I can do. A pleasant morning in the garden yesterday, left me exhausted.
I am expecting a visit from my son and his fiancée to pick up the spare keys to their flat, as they are moving house next week and getting all the bits and pieces done.
They have requested Mars Bar cake, so making that will keep me busy.
DS bought a new phone that he no longer needs, so he has generously given it to DH, who has steadfastly up until now refused to admit he needs one!
Unfortunately, I'm not looking forward to the saga of transferring all his info. As is his way, he will know best! ?
Feelingmyage, I know exactly what you mean about Lidl and online deliveries. My poor DD asked if I wanted anything from there last week, she was sorry she asked!!? Be careful you don't get carried away!
Dragonfly, I hope your treatment is not causing you too much discomfort.
Yesterday, I received two telephone consultation letters for next year, informing me it was too risky to come to the hospital. That is a quite worrying prediction of how things will be for me.
Welcome to all the newbies and hugs for all who need them, especially the Grammarettos, and Hazbeen. Gelisjams, I hope your son is improving.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. There's a touch of frost on the cars. The bin men have just been otherwise it seems eerily quiet.
Jay's online quiz with the family tonight. We've been doing it every Thursday since March.
Good morning Mick and all
It’s grey here in S E Essex, it’s due to brighten up so will put baby in pram and go for a walk later (DD is working today and tomorrow). We have silent fireworks for later for the 5yr old, I doubt the ten month old will be interested ( MrGG13 has been involved with professional Firework Displays for many years, so safety is top priority). GS has asked for Grandmas Burgers along with sausages in rolls ??
I saw one of my darling DILs yesterday outside in her garden, it’s not very often that we are on our own ( no GC or family) we had a lovely catch up and put the world to rights, I am so lucky to get on with our gorgeous DILs.
Take care and keep safe folks ?♀️
Good morning from Derbyshire where it's looking like being a nice day again.
Early supermarket shop this morning, then out for a walk later. Probably some gardening too as there is still plenty to be done.
Hope today is a good day for all.
Good morning from a strangely mild north of Scotland. It is still dark and I have given up trying to sleep after a strange night, not nightmares but feeling discombobulated. My AC are in lockdown and both live in flats but thankfully near parks. Neither of them mind the rain on their faces so I know they will still get out and about at the weekends, but we live hundreds of miles apart.
I am drinking tea and listening to the radio.
grandMattie. Everyone is going to ask you for the recipe. Sounds delicious. Are there any leftovers. Lots of foods are better the second day anyway.
I must go to the dump today as I have been tidying out the shed and if I am brave I might pop into Lidl as the online deliveries are very samey. And of course I do like their chocolate.
Nice to see you back Cherry. Take of yourselves everyone.
Morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire.
Not a lot going on here today. We have a Sainsbury's delivery and a new light arriving but that is the height of our excitement!
If the weather is good enough, I will do some putting to bed in the garden and plant a new rose that arrived a couple of days ago. I must also make a beef casserole.
Have the best day possible. Love to gilly as always.
Beech, it really was delicious. But then, Middle Eastern food is probably my favourite.
You’re making my mouth water Mattie. ?
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. There is an apricot streak to the sky and it’s dry.
I saw a joke yesterday, ME: What’s the weather like Alexa?
ALEXA: Why, where to you think you’re going!?
I’m going to make a card for a special birthday then deliver it.
Apart from that not a lot today.
Look after yourself if you have worries and stay safe all ?
Good morning Mick and all to come.
Another cold morning here in north Surrey.
DGSs both still sleeping. We have the school run and then an appointment at the opticians this morning.
I did enjoy my afternoon tea yesterday but brought home lots of leftover cakes, they were soon gone, eaten by DH and DGS1.
We have chosen colour for our bedroom makeover so will probably buy the paint today although a lot of preparation work needs to be done before the enjoyable job of painting walls.
Good to see you back posting yesterday Hazbeen, hope your medication changes will see an improvement in your health.
Keep safe all GMs and positive thoughts to all those with challenges at this time
Good morning from a bright, clear, frosty E Kent.
Oh dear, Mick, it's such a shame to lose contact again. Sadly, we are all in the same storm, but not all in the same boat... I'm luck to have DH to talk to. the AC don't communicate very often.
Had a Zoom cookery class last night. It made us a delicious meal. DH doesn't normally rave about things I make, but he had seconds, and thirds. A roasted chicken dish called Musukhan - a traditional PAlestinian dish. Chicken marinated in various spices, roasted and eaten with crisp flatbread to soak up the juices and caramelised onions. A herbed bulgur salad to go with it. Yum! Finished with a cardamom scented rice pudding with rose water syrup and caramelised pistachios. What else can anyone want to cheer one up?
Spanish class this morning. I'm lagging behind the others who are very keen... Don't know how long I'll last.
Hope everyone is in good heart today and pain is on the wane. Stay safe.
