Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside herein Brackley this morning .
I had all that I ordered online yesterday by post ,and UPS the later one surprised me, it was the Xmas stamps which I thought would be delivered by royal mail but not that way for a small envelope package .
See the new Antiques Road trip on TV with both having to drive separate classic cars.
Take Care,
Mick

I don't want to say much, as it's her business. However, EV did say she was on a shaky peg with HQ, regarding some of her posts. Best not to discuss it here, if you know what I mean.

Good morning from a damp south Cornwall. Beautiful photo stilllearning. Well I made it to my allotment yesterday, a real achievement. Now aching all over of course ha ha. A much quieter day today.

Have the best day you can, everyone.

Kalu Wed 11-Nov-20 09:13:42

Marydoll, I must be doing something right as DH has also said there is no need for him to visit a hairdresser now he has his private hairdresser at home. Payment is made by emptying the dishwasher, then of course there are lots of tips to use up as I go through the to do list. I’m not daft?. I must get a hold of one of those plastic capes. ?

Nortsat Wed 11-Nov-20 09:13:03

Good morning Mick and the GM team from grey east London.

The weather brightened up yesterday and I had a pleasant walk to the park.

Our Bosch dishwasher has conked out again, it’s 14 months old and this is the second time. The engineer will visit on 4th December. The young woman in their customer service was entirely unapologetic about the second failure of their machine or the lengthy wait for a repair. Everything seems to be blamed on Covid, when actually it just poor customer service.
Dragonfly I think EllanVannin has an ‘a’ in Ellan. I don’t really know her well enough to send a PM, but I think it may be worth you having another try.
I think Marydoll also said she has PM’ed gilly but didn’t get a reply.
It’s kind of you to try ...

So ... thinking of EV and gilly. Hope MrGrammaretto had a decent night. Dragonfly week 2, day 3 ...
Have a good day, all and let’s be careful out there. ?

Urmstongran Wed 11-Nov-20 09:10:15

Nice that you tried*dragonfly*.
Maybe it was the spelling that was incorrect for EV as it’s EllanVannin I think?

I like that I read somewhere that poppies for Remembrance ought to have the green leaf set at the 11am position. Poignant really.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from County Durham. Still looking rather grey here but living in hope of a few sunny spells later.

What a lovely photo of Paw yesterday Maw. A sad day for you but what treasured memories forever in your heart.

Yesterday was GS1s 20th birthday. As he's a uni student living out (why this year!???) no way could we celebrate. He was born prematurely at only 2lbs and stayed in hospital for 4 months, even enduring heart surgery at one point. He is our little family miracle, although at over 6ft not so little now.

Yesterday I met DD1 and youngest GC for a walk. Little one had her scooter and merrily rode along ahead of us. She is such a happy little thing and so confident, nothing like my DD at the same age who was always a little more cautious. The world is going to have something to reckon with when this girl takes it on.

No plans for today and will just go with that flow.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Susan56 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:44:44

Good morning from Shropshire where it is another damp, dull start.

Nothing planned today, will just take the day as it comes.

DD and DGS both much better today. What a worry for you Mary. You would think it would be better to close your DGD’s school for two weeks if the infection is so high.

Cherry I hope you had a more restful night??

Have a good day all and stay safe.

Morning from S Lanarkshire, grey but not too cold ( forgot to put bins out last night so have just dashed out in dressing gown!), Had a lovely walk and blether with my friend yesterday, rain threatened all the time but didn’t come to much and a lovely rainbow lifted our hearts. Heavy rain forecast for today so other than a BP check I won’t be venturing out. Last evening brought another joy, my 8 year old GD reading Harry Potter while we FaceTimed, me with my own copy, helping her with understanding/pronunciation of tricky words and reading chunks so she could relax and just enjoy the story. It was the first time we have done this and I felt a renewal of our closeness which I have so missed. Happy granny sends good wishes to all.

Marydoll Wed 11-Nov-20 08:33:47

Good morning Mick and all from a very windy and wild Glasgow. Kalu , you are very sensible to have a day in.

I started cutting my DHs hair during lockdown, now he has decided, (with a few blips in between), he no longer needs to go to the barber's. On one occasion, after thinking that he was beginning to look like the man in the Hamlet cigar advert, I cut the top too short. He was not amused. I told him to stop making a fuss , since I was shielding, no-one would see him anyway. ?

I've had a very disturbed night again. My angina was quite bad and I found my spray was empty. ☹ Fortunately, after rummaging in the dark, I found a new one in the beside drawer. DH, as usual snored slept through the whole episode. It was probably for the best, as he tends to flap.

Another class in DGD's is self isolating. As she has previously been shielding, I'm becoming quite anxious about her, which is obviously preying on my mind. There are more classes at home now, than at school. ☹

Ths time in my bizarre dream, it was Grandmabatty, who was looking for that blooming dog owner in the GN thread.
I have come to two conclusions:
1. I am spending too much time on GN
2. Reading that thread is affecting my sleep and my health!! ?

Expecting a visit from DS2 today, with yet more stuff for our garage, before his house move tomorrow.
One day, I will be found buried under the enormous amounts of stuff from my children's previous homes, just like one of those hoarders, you see on TV.

Ashcombe and Urmston, loving the photos. I'm so glad to see you posting again, Bluesaphhire, now all we need is Gilly to return.
Glad to see our Welsh friends have been released and hoping HAZBEEN is feeling a bit better today. ?

Take care everyone and stay safe.

Lins1066 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:33:30

Good morning Mick and all from a dry and overcast S Welsh coast. Took the puppy for a walk on the seafront yesterday, we met some friends who said that the shops in town have been very busy for the last two days here.
I intend making an industrial amount of soup to freeze, I have three butternut squashes and some sweet potatoes to use up. A Tesco delivery later this morning and another short walk if it's dry.
A word of warning, there is a sophisticated scam going around involving all banks at the moment. I've had texts from two banks, I just deleted them.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

NanKate Wed 11-Nov-20 08:33:22

Morning Mick and All.

Light grey skies here in South Bucks.

Need a bit of shopping so will pop down town masked up, steamed glasses, come home, wipe down shopping with bacterial wipes, get the Nespresso machine on (other makes available) and sink down in the chair with my IPad, mobile and paper. Phew it’s all go here.

? to our poorly members.

dragonfly46 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:32:13

Urmston I have PM’d both Gilly and Ellen. No reply from Gilly and told there is no account in the name of Ellenvannin. I miss them both.

Grandmabatty Wed 11-Nov-20 08:30:17

Good morning All from a wet and windy Polmont. I'm a bit under the weather today. My insides were upset yesterday and I woke to the same this morning. A very light day for eating. A quiet morning then dgs is being dropped off by his aunt this afternoon. Another delivery on its way from Royal mail too so Christmas shopping is progressing nicely. I have no plans as I can't go to far from a loo! Hopefully it'll pass soon.

Pittcity Wed 11-Nov-20 08:27:57

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Still mild here with a damp feeling in the air. My sunglasses have replaced my brolly in my handbag.

Busy keeping the house spick and span as we have more potential buyers viewing over the next few days. We turned down a very low offer yesterday.

DGS CV test was negative and he is well enough to go back to school. So glad it was just a reaction to the flu vaccine.

We will be on the doorstep for two minutes Remembrance at 11am.

dragonfly46 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:24:46

Good morning from Leicestershire. High cloud here.

A walk this morning before radiotherapy this afternoon.
Got an invitation yesterday to join my DD for drinks on her birthday - on Zoom!

Have a good day everyone.

Elizabeth1 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:21:54

A very good morning from the dry east coast of Fife where there’s loads of cars passing by hope they’re staying within the speed limit i don’t want any further bumps to our car we need both wing mirrors. The police were meant to visit us on Sunday but they didn’t turn up they did park outside though and caught a speeding motorist. Hope they get what they deserve -+not the police - the speeding motorists. It’s a busy day for me and my dh I’ve to stay out the way while the house renovations take place. Must get going to my usual perch things to do and see. Have a good day everyone hugs to the worriers I’ll need one myself if these renovations don’t get finished soon and if we have to stay in the higher level I do so want to visit my family in Aberdeen again in December love to allflowers

Taichinan Wed 11-Nov-20 08:19:46

Good morning Mick and all. It's the first morning without fog for a while, but it's grey and wet instead. Come back summer, all is forgiven! What a shock Nicola gave me yesterday! She's moved another huge part of Scotland into Tier 3 which I honestly hadn't seen coming. Amongst other things, it means that I have to stop the tai chi classes again so this evening and tomorrow morning will be the last this side of Christmas. I shall miss them.

DD's FiL passed away yesterday too. He contracted Covid while in hospital and was very ill, but it's very sad. Covid draws ever closer.

I'm off down town to put my car in for its service and MOT. I shall pop into the butcher and fishmonger while I'm down there and then back home by taxi to put my feet up before the class this evening.

Lovely photos again Ashcombe, and your replacement car sounds amazing. You're going to have fun with that! Also your unexpected shopping spree for all those essentials you didn't realise you needed, Bella!

Now I must shift or I'll be late with the car. I shall pop back in later for a catch-up. Have the best day you can everyone. ???

harrigran Wed 11-Nov-20 08:19:13

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Had a chat with my sister and BIL from the top of their drive after dropping off the soup, first fresh air I have had for a couple of weeks.
Going to watch the live streaming from the Menin gate this morning.
Take care all.

Kalu Wed 11-Nov-20 08:16:53

Hope your phone call with your DD finds her well Urmston Fingers crossed too she has no ill effects post Covid. ?

Greyduster Wed 11-Nov-20 08:16:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. At least we can see a bit further today as there is none of the fog that has bedevilled us for the past few days but it’s a damp and windy South Yorkshire morning. We had a thorough cleaning day yesterday as we were in waiting for a package which was eventually tracked as “handed to resident”, only it wasn’t! Not this resident anyway! Doesn’t bode well for the rest of my Christmas shopping. If the weather clears a bit, we may go out; if not, it’ll be three rounds, two submissions or a knockout with the laptop again. I have bought myself an idiot guide! Not that I’m an idiot, you understand........?
Have a good safe day, folks!

baubles Wed 11-Nov-20 08:15:48

Good morning Mick, morning all from a wet and breezy South Lanarkshire.

We are relieved of our childminding duties today as SiL is using up some annual leave so the cottage pie I made yesterday will have to go in the freezer.

Yesterday I finished a crochet blanket for the littlest GC, just have to wash and block it today. It was an easy, relaxing project and I’ve lots of yarn so I think I’ll start another one today.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day, look after yourselves.

BlueSapphire Wed 11-Nov-20 08:14:10

Good morning all from a cloudy grey Northampton. Not much planned for today, may get around to making cakes, maybe not. Must finish my Sainsbury's order ready for tomorrow's delivery.

Have been researching new integrated fridges, as mine is struggling to meet a low enough temperature even on the lowest setting. Wondered why the milk seemed to be going off quicker than usual. I will have to have them install it and take out and dispose of the old one. AO seem to have the best price and installation charges. Also looking at new phones, and will consult with DD at the weekend. DS-in-law is already looking at new laptops for me. Will be an expensive time!

Wishing everyone a good day. Lovely pictures, Ashcombe.

Sark Wed 11-Nov-20 08:12:30

Good Morning everyone from Oxfordshire where it is overcast and still.
Sar53 sounds like a nasty cutflowers
Just bought a new fridge freezer to be delivered on Saturday but other than that nothing much happening in Sark towers as usual..just another work day!
Best wishes to all and have a good daysmile

Gingster Wed 11-Nov-20 08:12:26

Good morning from a bright and calm Suffolk coast . The cloud formation is very unusual here too Ashcombe very pretty on the horizon. Lovely pics from you. ?.

Scentia - I’ve been dreaming of the Yorkshire Farm Family all night. What an idyllic life they lead. Tough at times, I’m sure and what a lovely grounded family. ????

We’ll be tidying up the cottage and garden today and putting it to bed for a while. I don’t think we’ll be back until the New Year, so we must leave it in apple pie order.

I must start Xmas shopping soon. I’ve written cards but need more. I have stockings to fill - 8 in all. I usually put 10 gifts in each and wrap them all. Takes a while but always creates a bit of fun. Only silly bits and bobs ?

Take care of you hand Sar and be careful with that knife.

Best wishes for a pleasant day. ???
